Introduction:
MoKee OpenSource is based on the Google AOSP. We update our source code frequently to keep up with the latest development, and not forgetting to merge in special features of our own at the same time.
A small group of people from around the world who are interested in Android launched this project on the 12th of December 2012, and is committed to make this ROM better and better. Man you'll be extremely surprised how loaded this ROM is. It's nothing like it trust me. Transitions are wicked. No need to side loading extra mods.
I liked that on my S3 but I never know why can't uninstall their forum app so not sure if now is included by default too.
Not trying to be rude but what's up with the 4.4 screenshots?

Yeah does are still present. They be removed with root explorer.
It's a must cause this ROM is extremely popular in China. That's there main side loading app store. I'll post a link that explains. It's like T-Mobile apps in a T-Mobile phone etc.

I read on they're official website you can. I could be mistaken, but the it's removed any other blast ware.. They're just apps, some not so much.
Re: faux kernel
I haven't flash it yet. I have been running the built in kernal. Which haven't given me any issues. I would check in faux kernel thread with other users running 5.0.2.
Mokee isn't fully cm12 they 88ooadd a ton of mods and a script or two from the jump. (build - bot)
Let me take to this moment go be clear and transparent. I am a semi_advanced user. I know a couple developers that would do personal side bar favors. I just wanted to bring the Mokee experience to the Nexus 6 aka shamu aka apex_predator users and audience. I've been using it since Galaxy Nexus to Nexus 5 dayz.
I am not a developer, this thread was a built to maintain, update and share with N6. Small team on standby to assist the best way possible (together).
Enjoy

I was gonna ask about this. I am using multi rom. As long as my primary rom is 5.02 with supported kernel I can secondary 5.1. Right.

Yeah sure. It worked out just fine for me. But do flash the Radio and Bootloader. Alternatively you could also install 5.1 as a primary ROM by downloading kexec.c patched kernel available at the MultiROM developer's website updated specifically for 5.1.
As of now I have Chroma 5.1 as Primary and Bliss 2.1 and Rastapop 5.1 as secondaries.
This ROM contains the MoKeeMarket.apk this is a 3rd party app store known for spreading warez, as such it is against the rules.

Hi,
Are you tired of your current ROM that has limited features? Are looking for one that you want to customize by yourself? Well here's the ROM for you. Have a minute to read and hopefully you'll be encouraged to test it.
This is The GN0M3 Project. This ROM has no customizations whatsoever. You will be the one to customize this, It's a fast clean stock ROM with under the hood speed enhancements and some personal tweaks. You would need to install GApps for both builds. With this ROM, you will have a Fast, Clean, Stock experience.
Why did I say "You'll be the one to customize it?"
Well, It's because I already integrated the Xposed framework into the ROM settings. And If you're going to ask me "Why no customizations and why with the Xposed framework only?" It's because some of the famous features of some Custom ROMs are already in one of the Xposed Modules, you just need to find them.
Anyways, this ROM will stay stock and only speed enhancements will be implemented, and also I will just focus on stability and such. The customizations you would want will be in one of the Xposed Modules. I'll just give you a stock, clean, snappy ROM and it's up to you to customize it.
Off topic is welcome in this thread as long as you RESPECT each other.
In a nut shell: "This is the do it yourself customization ROM"
To know more about Xposed Framework. Go here: CLICK ME!!! or HERE!!!
For people wondering whats the story behind this ROM is, here's a brief explanation:
I built this ROM based on Google's concept of Android of letting end users customize Android as the way that they want to. And yes we all did a lot of that since Custom ROM's appeared in different ways. But, some of them only have limited features that other end users doesn't really use them. So that brought up the idea to make a ROM that incorporates Google's concept of putting the customization into the end users hands. So in a nut shell this ROM will give you the ability to customize it whatever you want to do with it, and thanks to the Xposed Framework app, it is possible now. But of course not all features of other custom ROM's are already in some xposed modules, but as development grows it's not impossible to have them in some modules. Well, that's about it, hope people would now understand why I built this for the community.
Cheers and Happy Customizing!

Sm 4.9 toolchain
For People who wants to work on their ROM to build it with SM 4.9, I'll be uploading all my file changes to my git. There's a lot so you really need patience with this. For CM 10.2 you can check @IAmTheOneTheyCallNeo's Git to get the commits for SM Toolchain to work. I got the Idea from there and modified some to make it work on AOSP. Went through trial and errors but its part of it. Anyways, just check out my git.
How to get Toolchain
Sabermod 4.9 Toolchain
Code:
mkdir arm-linux-androideabi-4.9
cd arm-linux-androideabi-4.9
git clone https://github.com/SaberMod/android_prebuilts_gcc_linux-x86_arm_sabermod-arm-linux-androideabi-4.9
Then after cloning, copy the directory to your $ source/prebuilts/gcc/linux-x86/arm/ Folder, Then after that the modifications and patching begins.

Is there some sort of thread that compiles alll these different version names in order of release? I've looked around but all these JLS, JSS etc. are confusing.
Also, wasn't the previous Gn0m3 version on JSS15R? Anything different with these updates and with SM 4.9.0?

I updated it to JLS36G since it's the newer revision, and this current build is built with the SM 4.9 Toolchain, the previous one is GCC 4.8, SM Toolchain has a lot of tweaks and patches that make it perform better. JLS36G is pure AOSP and JWR66Y is a modified stock version for people who does'nt want the deadlocks. Don't have time to merge both builds yet since I had a lot of time making SM 4.9 to work(A lot of patches to be applied). Hope that answers your question
Good job :good:

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Why isn't there XXXXXXX feature.
A: Shoot us a Suggestion if you want to see something added. While we are not going to promise to implement, we will always look into it
Q: But CM and all the others have..
A: ROM developers, including CM, build something they want to use. The ROM dev that includes something they won't run implies less than 100% effort to ensure it does work. As a team, we have similar goals and objectives. If XYZ ROM has a feature you want, and we don't (or don't want), feel free to use XYZ ROM, or build your own custom version of Octo-Kat.
A2: CM is not AOSP and neither are any of the CM-Based ROMS. You may not realize the differences but trust us the differences are real and don't make adding every option as easy as if we were based off of CM like every other "AOSP" rom available. Take this as a stab at those who claim to pull AOSP source but really just pull CM because it's easier. Sure we use CM, but it's because AOSP doesn't and probably never will support the s4 or any devices we make this ROM for.

A Note about the Team OctOs GApps
We in Team OctOs believe in choices. We believe in leaving the fundamental decisions about your phone to you.
In that spirit, Team OctOs gives you options for your GApps experiences. While kitkat GApps package should work, we offer you the choice of using some of the same GApps packages that we use ourselves, and leave the choice up to you.
You can find our Team OctOs GApps packages here, and break down into the following types:
GPe - Google Experience
Regular GPe GApps
Dalvik-Enhanced GPe GApps
AOSP
AOSP GApps
Dalvik-Enhanced AOSP GApps
The Dalvik-Enhanced packages are NOT ART compatible. If you plan to run ART, don't use those.

While we are certainly not requiring donations or money. But donations of money or devices will certainly speed along development. We plan to purchase and build 3 identical servers to be able to handle the work load of building our ROMs. Hosting, Electricity, and Parts alone are out of pocket at this point. But we love what we do. So, if you feel led to send us a device(even old ones you've moved on from, or new ones) or small donations towards our server project we'd be extremely appreciative. Contact @Dubbsy for device donations. He will make sure they get to each team member as needed. Thanks to all the users who make it feel like we are doing something that people enjoy!

Our team was assembled as a result of some developers that would not donate their invaluable knowledge when called upon for help. Both Dubbsy and I(treken) decided to join forces and create our team so that we could work together and surpass any challenge that we were presented with in the whole scheme of development. We've added people as we saw fit who all have the same attitude and mindset that we have.
The name was derived from the Latin word "octo" or Greek word "okto" meaning "eight/8". Eight is numerically symbolic for new beginning, and so we wanted to start a new team with a new attitude towards development. We feel that by producing a stable ROM that the user will be able to rely on OctOS for their daily.

Our mission statement is simple. REAL AOSP base. Google Play Edition Layout if so desired by using the GPE GApps. AOSP GApps also available for the purists. With the settings you all know and love hidden away in our own setup called OctSettings under Development Settings hidden to keep the look of AOSP. We call this REAL AOSP+GPE+OctSettings=OctOS
Enjoy Friends!

Aroma has been put on hold until we get the ROM exactly how we want it and start getting it ported to all the other devices.
The aroma interface is my major part here. If you have aroma specific questions direct them at me like this

Yep, all carriers will be built in one zip. Sprint and Verizon are the only ones fully setup right now. @Grommish & @agat63 are on Sprint. The rest of us are Verizon users.
And a version of this has been on all our phones for awhile. It's stable for us. :good:
Thanks Dubs, and the others that made this possible!!! Dling now!

what seperates this ROM from the other AOSP roms? Is it AOSP or CM source? What features are included if any? Linaro -03 compiled?
Not trying to be disrespectful just curious about the differences?

The goal is to remain as true to AOSP as possible. Right now the stock rom is just AOSP made to run on the GS4 varients. Right now, features are only what is added via aroma; apps, xPosed, different cameras, etc. We are striving to duplicate the Google Edition from an AOSP source. Later a modified AOSP will become available, and become an alternate aroma option

It's built from mostly the latest (4.3_r3.1) AOSP source. The source that isn't AOSP is because AOSP doesn't support the gs4 or its chipset. Those components are pulled from CM. We've been working on integrating Google/Samsung released Google Play Edition source also. Some has been fully integrated and some haven't. @Treken could answer the question about linaro better than I can.
Other reasons it's different are already posted...

OctOs comes with 3 kernel options.
1) Stock 4.3
2) Elite Kernel
3) AOSP Kernel from Agat63
Elite and Agat's Kernel are OC/UV'able and other tweaks (hotplug'ing CPU cores, etc)
Just booted this ROM for the first time, nice touch with the boot animation! I'll be sure to report any bugs I come across.
EDIT: During setup, instead of displaying networks, it says "to see available networks, turn Wi-Fi on."
EDIT2: After skipping most of the setup I'm unable to enable Wi-Fi.

my favorite ROM from N4!!! excited
Substantially is the base AOSP from which the CarbonDev Team will construct its ROM.
You'll find Superuser, Performance Tool, Theme management, Dev Tools and something little else.
Donwloading, will post report as soon as it's installed.
Edit : ok, seems like ROM is not rooted and no included gapps. Everything is fluent, maybe more than stock. No new functionnality, just CM profiles.
Sent from my Nexus 5 using xda app-developers app
oh yea NOW we're cookin with gas. Anybody know how long until we start getting official nightlies? I think im gonna struggle between this and OmniROM for a bit...
Which features have been ported to 4.4?/ what's missing

Nice to see new ROM coming out, just a question, CM profiles are (or will be) implemented?

Flash SuperSU to get root. Typically, ROMs don't include gapps especially ROMs that are <200MB. Flash PA gapps or whatever corresponding 4.4 gapps, I personally prefer Banks gapps http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2012857 (you get gmail, google maps etc on play store). No unnecessary gapps bloatware like including QuickOffice/Google earth/google drive/google music/etc.
It was also mentioned in OP about gapps, but yeah thanks for the reporting. This will be my main ROM once it has a decent number of additions that we'd all expect from Carbon.

aragog53 did mention that there aren't any new features except CM Profiles. I personally haven't flashed it but I see in the zip that there is Theme Chooser support. For the most part, its most likely just a barebones AOSP with minor features.
Thanks but this doesn't boot. How much did you test it before posting it?

Actually it does have root baked in. You can change the setting in dev mode. EDIT: you are right root is built in but doesn't seem to work. it also has...
Advance Power Menu
Performance CPU/Custom Kernel Control
Theme Engine
Expandable Sound
Pulse notification light ( I dont think this is stock could be wrong)
And profiles
I'm sure more will come, thanks op

Doesn't boot for me with Faux 002 beta 4. I actually got it to boot once but had endless com.android.phone force closes and am wiping to try again.
Attempted boot three times, once after wipe with flash of kernel, once after wipe with no kernel flash, and once with kernel flash after a successful boot.

Multiple force closes after flashing Franco's latest test .img as well. Suppose I will try Elemental at this point, nothing to lose.

OK so before we start let me make something abundantly clear, I am posting this up here on behalf of the Vanir AOSP team, as their ROM is awesome, and it took me longer than the first google to locate it etc etc. There is a link at the bottom of how to find them on G+ and communicate directly with the team. THIS POST ONLY TO CONVEY FILE LOCATIONS FOR OTHERS WHO WISH TO TRY THIS ROM. I will keep it uptodate so that anyone on the S3 can get to it.

Vanir was founded on the premise of performance tuning Android. It is based on AOSP, but include features (many of which have been rewritten to be more efficient) from other ROMs.
The webkit, chromium, and skia are aosp/master merged with codeaurora, with linaro fixes on top.
BY LINARO, it means "-O3 -fstrict-aliasing".... not just switching toolchains. At Team Vanir, THEY GO HARD.
Youtube video of 4.4.2 (old)

improved notification handling (active display & halo are in review also)
usability improvements like power reboot menu and sound

Commotio is a second rom built on the base of Vanir AOSP. Essentially it is the same underneath, but some people prefer the extras it has. Install either ROM and see which one you prefer yourself. AFAIK all the latest releases are stable.

It was me who reported not working i9305's version
I tried once to grab a logcat and it didn't work, terminal continously waiting for device, while phone was looping Samsung logo. Is there any other way to do it? I will try anyway, maybe this time it will work...
Or.. would a logcat with a custom kernel help a little bit? Even if it booted there was not working cell network. However, then at least I could log anything
Apart from that.. What do you think about a feature to "swipe notification/app from recents to left to open it in floating window"? I think it gives great multitasking possibilities, somehow replacing halo (in my opinion).

You need to grab a log with adb
Just like when you root your phone with a USB cable to your computer... but type adb logcat

i tried both but apart from some visual differences I could not find any difference.. commotio B70 is still little unstable . i have applied a theme and the in call UI is crashing.. Vanir is comparatively more stable.
Any chance you could use a different naming convention for the nightly Commotio Roms only the past 4 or so that I have downloaded all have the same filename which makes it difficult to identify which is the newer one in CWM when installing and I want to keep the older ones in case something doesn't work. (and before someone replies with a smart comment about deleting or renaming them via a file manager app manually, I am aware thank you but sometimes you just want to flash...) Possibly add the date of compilation into the filename? Thanks.

Few interesting things that might be added to vanir:
- statusbar's clock needs a date next to it (not to feel lonely)
- slimrom's heads up (because they are taking heads up experience to a completely new level) with an option to launch it in floating window (just imagine these multitasking possibilites!!!) and reasonable 'disable on lock screen' feature
- why not to extend multitasking possibilities more and more? https://gerrit.paranoidandroid.co/#/c/4219/
- these are less spectacular, however still might be useful: adding ios-like carrier label in statusbar, battery qs tile showing whether you are charging with AC or USB, removing unneeded keyguard test activites (why would we need something useless?)
I know that vanir isn't such kind of a ROM that you ask for something and simply get it. However, these pointed changes may only improve its greatness and probably encourage more people to use it and stick with it. Also, you developers should feel the difference after applying some of these features

Thanks for the great testing, and probing me to find that bug.
I"ll look over the feature requests. You never know what will be cooked in

XenonHD is a custom firmware aka ROM for various Android devices. It is built from Android Open Source Project (AOSP) with additional features, performance and battery life improvements.
The idea behind XenonHD is to give users a ROM that is "blazing fast, rock stable and buttery smooth".
Base : Lollipop 5.1.1_r18 : FULL AOSP BASE FROM SOURCE.
It's Rockstable,Blazing fast.
and now Buttery Smooth too!

WHAT IS RRO?
Furrydaus said:
Many of you may be new to RRO so let's give you a brief overview of what it is.
On the surface, RRO seems to be like your standard themer you'll find from any rom especially in CyanogenMod.
RRO is a new kid in the block and isn't as sophisticated as the CM Theme Engine but it is indefinitely more efficient and more customizable (More on that later).
Have you somehow liked the way the Sony Theme Engine worked? It was indeed a project from the RRO Interface but with Sony's own tweaks. If you are able to guess, the Sony Theme Engine has its flaws and shares some of the same fate as the RRO Theming Engine.
Ever since the rise of CyanogenMod, Google and its affliates seem to have responded to the call for more customizabilty by Improving the Original RRO Engine and then officially releasing it as part of AOSP in the Lollipop Releases although it can still be found in some form or another in the earlier versions of Android.
Now since the new RRO Engine was released, it turned out to be the very thing that the CM Theme Engine feared, a worthy competitor. Unlike RRO, the CM Theme Engine uses loads (and I really mean LOADS) of code in implementing it. Patching it again and again, the CM Theme Engine seem to be reluctant to absorb into the possibilities of RRO trying to stay away from the Google Way.
Unlike the CM Theme Engine, RRO uses and accesses the resources of the whole OS and opens it up for the user to customize and utilize. Right now, it seems very difficult to get a hold of but once you get started in using it, you'll realize how much potential RRO can do for you.
The downside of RRO is that unlike the CM Theme Engine, it is very difficult to ensure that things run smoothly. Some newbie developers may publish RRO Themes to the play store and may have missing resources. (I'm sure the inexperienced developer pool will reduce if given time and leniency)
Like @miki.cis has shown, some themes can cause crashes to the system including the Reboot Menu due to missing resources. When there's a missing resource, the system is stuck and takes the easy way out by rebooting. (I can see this being remedied in the future though).
So as a result, RRO Layers is a dragon that can be tamed if properly utilized and given the time to mature. I hope those who are trying RRO for the first time be lenient to the new RRO Layers Engine and its new generation of Themers.
Regards,
Furrydaus

most of mods like this won't work as the sources are updating quickly(so the mod is outdated), if you want to use the mod, see the date when it's made, and find a rom which was built on nearby date, or just try it after you have a working nandroid backup, good luck anyways
edit: btw, don't report here if don't work, it's expected
Looks really great this Rom.
It's fast. Smooth. No lags until now.
Congrats and thanks for the work.
