Hi guys!
I'm having some trouble with the Digital TV App on my Z2 (model D6543).
It has unlocked BL, it's rooted and on version 23.0.1.A.0.167.
I don't use the digital tv that much so I only noticed it wasn't working by now, when it's been like a month since I updated my Z2 to 4.4.4 and rooted it.
So, what happens is that when I try to look up for the channels the app just blinks a progress bar and returns me the message "No channel available", whether I have a headphone connected or not.
I suspect it's a software problem, so I thought maybe I could find a way to reinstall the app or something like that, but I really don't know how, as it's a built-in app.
Any suggestions on how to fix this without reinstalling 4.4.4 all over again?
Thank you very much!
edit: ok I think it's because I unlocked the bootloader

Greetings,
I had an AT&T S4 and after the last OS update, suddenly my Spotify app was passing through song titles to my Toyota FJ factory radio display, streaming via bluetooth. Prior to that, streaming occurred but, the radio just said, "No Title".
Now I have an AT&T G3 and after pairing up fine with the radio, I get great music streaming in, but "No Title" on the display.
I'm rooted, froze a bunch of apps, and changed some permissions as well.
So, I'm trying to track down whether this is an Android version issue, or a frozen app/permissions issue. I would really like to get this passing through song titles as the S4 was.
Anyone have any ideas as to what drives that functionality?
Was this an update to Bluetooth included in an Android version after the 4.4.2 I have on the G3 now? If so, since I'm rooted, is there a way to side-load that into the G3 so I can recover this functionality?
Thanks,
Digger
Has anyone who has received their z5 have an android auto head unit in their car to test with? I'm having a problem where audio from Google play music won't play over USB when I'm using android auto. I'm wondering if it is just me.

I dont have the android auto head unit, nor I have the Z5 but I do have one suggestion.
Is it a Bluetooth connection between the unit and the phone? If so, maybe u used the unit with a previous device? You can try reset the unit to factory defaults if possible.
I use an alpine car radio for Bluetooth calling and after updating my Z from KK to LP, it did connect but not all features where working.
A full factory reset of the radio fixed this, so it might fix things for u also
Sorry, but no that isn't the problem. Android auto does not use Bluetooth audio for media. It uses USB audio for media, and Bluetooth audio for phone calls.
Is it only Google play music that doesn't work? Does Spotify work?

I found that amazon music also does not work but Spotify and tunein radio work fine. Weird.
Just for anyone googling and finding this thread--
Software update 32.0.A.6.152 fixes this problem.
Google play music playing through android auto now works correctly.

Still isn't working for me and I'm on 32.0.A.6.200 - I've got a VW Discover head unit and it tries and fails to link using Android Auto before failing over to Mirrorlink.
I've got the VW Discover Media and don't have any problem.
At the begining, the connexion was crappy (2 or 3 attemps to finaly work) but now, I've disabled Throw and it's working...
I've since upgrade to Android 6.x (Marshmallow) on the Z5 Compact and still no luck getting it to work with the VW Discover head unit ... does anyone have any suggestions? I've tried the usual stuff like setting USB for MTP transfer and enabling USB debugging/dev mode.

2016 GTI owner, with the Discover head unit. I got my Z5C today and applied all the updates to take it to 6.0. Didn't have to do anything other than install the Android Auto app, sign into GPM and accept the various disclaimers.
My previous experience with setting up Android Auto is that your phone needs an active data connection during setup.
I've been using my PS3 controller wirelessly with my Xperia Z2 for a few years now, along with my mhl 3.0 adapter, it's been brilliant at playing on my HDTV.
I've just upgraded to the official Marshmallow 6.0.1 firmware and noticed that it only seems to have options for Dualshock 4 connectivity.
If I plug the Dualshock 3 in via usb otg, it works, but when I try connecting via bluetooth, it asks me to input a pin number, which I don't have, and shouldn't need.
Does anyone have any info regarding this?
Or even better, does anyone know a way Dualshock 3 support can be pulled from the Lollipop firmware and integrated into the Marshmallow update, if Sony are going to be so annoying as to remove it all together?
PS: I've also tried the Sixaxis Controller app on the play store and it doesn't seem to function at all.

The new Marshmallow update on mine also doesn't show PS3 controller connectivity because the PS3 is getting too old for new software to handle. There is a solution that may help though, and that is the dualshockmanager.apk file (or something like that) that could be ported or installed on marshmallow to bring compatibility back. Make a new forum on the Xperia Z2 help & troubleshooting section and ask if someone who is running Lollipop, can upload the dualshockmanager.apk from their phone. Hope this helps.
Try use old dualshockconnect from 5.1
this not worked :C http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=66367075#post66367075

I've contacted Sony about this issue and here is their response:
"There have been no changes made to this feature, I'd advise to contact your support team for further assistance.."

Hi
Whenever I connect my car's Bluetooth with my phone, I can make/receive calls but I can't access the media on my phone. I have tried clearing the cache, unparing and paring back again but still doesn't work. The option to use media in my phone is also enabled.
I previously had HTC Sensation and it worked absolutely fine with the same car, even media worked fine too.
Can someone please help me?
My phone is:
Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 - Snapdragon and 3GB RAM Variant.
Screenshot of the ROM below.
Thanks
Edit: My phone is not rooted. But if it is guaranteed that rooting will solve the problem then I would root it.
i have a similar issue and like you many other phones work fine. I have a bug fix request into google if you'd like to add your info maybe we can get this resolved. Do you have BT 4.2? What kind of car do you have?

Hi to all, long time reader/lurker, first time posting
On topic, i have a Xperia C4 E5306, updated from lollipop to marshmallow via flashtool ver. 9.19.8, no issues, everything went fine, aside some functions with new names or in different place, all dandy... except connection with my kenwood car stereo (KMM-BT312), actually, it connects fine, just it doesn´t display media info like it did with lollipop, it just displays BT AUDIO, but no song title, artist, etc.
Has anyone come up with this error, if so, did you were able to fix it?
Thanks to all, and i hope somebody can help with this little anoyance.
Ramon S.
Ps. I did try by deleting devices, pairing, unpairing, renaming devices, resetting the phone AND the car stereo, to no avail.
Firmware update
I find an updated firmware for my kenwood headunit, firmware 0.32 to 0.36, still the same problem, no media info from bluetooth, odly, USB connection shows all media info... So now i am pretty sure it´s an android 6.0 issue.
Cheers.
Bluetooth working just fine... Bravia engine working for u??? .... Not working for me....
I am having problems with Bluetooth after upgrading to 6.0
Connected Watch Sony SmartWatch 3. When the screen is turned on - off on its own Wi-Fi
In 5.1, this was not.
Same issues for me. Bluetooth completely full of bugs and stuttering since upgrade to MM on my C5 Ultra Dual. Perfect before. Frustrating how the device is now totally useless for my day to day needs. Have approached Sony several times and they have no answers or don't answer. But certainly, have no idea of what is causing issues since upgrade to MM. My phone was perfect on Lollipop. Complete rubbish now. Done full reinstall. No difference. My guess is its "Throw" causing issues.
