Has anyone found any good emulators for the 10.1? Most are made for phones so they're usually stretched. I'm looking for a good NES, SNES, and Sega Genesis emulators.
BTW, N64oid (N64 emulator) runs basically perfect on the Tab. Worth a download, though its a bit hard to use touch screen for "Z" and "R"
I'm fairly happy with SNESoid so far, although it's hard to find right now.

Ok, well, how exactly might one be able to connect a wii controller to the tab and use it for emulators?
Also, I've been trying SNESoid for about a day now and seems to play games well, however, I was just looking for designed for honeycomb (not just supported). Basically, I'm looking for a cleaner interface instead of pixelated buttons (I know its not really important). My other issue is the on-screen buttons are so close to the home/back, and clock buttons, i keep clicking them (this will be solved by using an external controller i suppose)

"Wiimote Control" app on Market.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mnGNB3UnyAk
NOTE: Wiimote Control has issues with a lot of third-party Wii accessories. For example, I originally tried the Nyko Wand+ and it failed.
Also, if you have a USB host adapter (homemade or the official Samsung one which is finally in stock - I got mine today), a PS3 or Xbox360 wired controller, or any USB PC controller should work.

why is the N64oid $3.99 and the rest free?
I was really hoping I could play Zelda ocarina of time on my Gtab.

I tried N64oid the other day and a lot of the sound was goofed up. The sound was laggy.. like it came in pulses. Anyone else experience this, or do you think it was just the rom I was using?

It may be due to how they were originally distributed...
ALL of them were paid apps for a while until most were pulled from the market. In the case of yongzh's stuff, there were open source license violations. In the case of psx4droid, it was Sony pressure.
N64oid might not have the same open source licensing issues that all of other yongzh's emulators had.
Im using snes9x ex and will great plus you can adjust the size of you game screen as u like and so much more. Its also compatible with wimote. If you need help there are video tutorials about wii mote on youtube it really helped me a lot. Configuring the keys was a little tricky at first but if you ever need help with that part just ask
i am using samsung galaxy tab 10.1 and i downloaded this game PES2011 Pro Evolution Soccer. It works fine (market say's is not compatible) but i wanted to play uing my wiimote.
i map my wiimote (classic controller attached) perfectly with buttons on xperia play but i just cant to make it work. i tried playing others xperia optimize games using the wiimote and it works find.

The xperia has buttons you can map to, or buttons the game is mapped to rather. And the soccer game does not because it is or the tab and is controlled by touch. Thats why its not gonna work. Right? Or maybe I misunderstood what you are saying..
you mean the game is controller by the optical touch control on the xperia play? not the game pad ? but at least those buttons should work.
Well, first off, let me introduce myself, i used to be a apple user since the ipod nano 1g(got ipod touch 1st gen, iphone 2g, 3g, 3gs, 4, ipad 1, etc) but afer buying the galaxy S2, there is no turning back...Simply amazing hahah
Well, my idea is:
I can play using sixaxis controller on some games like emulators, etc...
BUT
What if we find a way to make Xperia optimized games to run on our galaxy s2 and achieve a way to map his buttons? We can build a dock on top of a play3 controller and we will have a homemade galaxy play haha
Just a idea, i dont have any knowledge regarding android systems...Would be great someone to shine a light on this...
Thanks in advance and sorry for my brazilian english hehe =)
uhmmm, most of the xperia play games can already be played on the sgs2 and even more cool games can be played on it that d not run on the play.
so i assume that there is hardly any common need for your request
I think playing is a lot better with REAL buttons than in screen gestures...I think you didnt read or just ignored what i said...
Anyway, Sixaxis got a upgrade and now its possible to map touchscreen gestures to the controller...one of the best apps ive ever bought...
But i'm still interested in what i'm saying...its not as accurate as xperia play...
you mean you want to play games on the sgs2 4,3" screen using a normal sixaxis controller?
Buy the sixaxis controller on the market, it let's you replace de touchscreen buttons by the buttons on your sixaxis controller, you just need to make a profile to every game you need, it even let's you give a button the swipe move, its a great feature

Really? Now read my second post.
@Topic
I'm willing to donate to whoever does this kind of port properly...
Dude I don't really understand what you mean.
Those ganes can already be played as the other guy said, and you can connect a sixaxis controller via bluetooth so what do you mean? You want the sixaxis wired into the phone permanently? What's the point? -it's be massive.
Just make a sixaxis game gripper out of thermal setting plastic or something ;p
Ohhhh I now see what you mean, I've been looking for a way to map sixaxis buttons to play buttons..
That way the buttons would work a lot better and you wouldn't need to coonstantly alter the keymap for different games..
In the sixaxis controller key settings it does have buttons like l2 and r2 but I don't know why, haven't tried them because the other buttons like square, circle etc aren't there.....
Your statement about the xperia games being playable on other android devices is false. That's what he means. I just downloaded a fighting game that was designed for the play, onto my infuse 4g and it recognizes nothing when I touch the screen. This is his idea. To get the sixaxis to work for these games in particular. If I'm wrong please say so. But so far as i can tell there are some games that are xperia play only, and those are the games he is talking about.
Will SIXAXIS work with the SXS and a third party controller?
Like this one: Ebay link
Even tho it seller says: Compatible with Sony PS3 only.
My plan was to play the Playstation games on my tv with the hdmi cable and PS3 controller.
I don't think Sixaxis will work to be honest. But I also doubt there are any games that support it really...
The ps3 pad works with cable and livedock if on stock. And there is sixaxis app for rooted. Playstation suite is already compatible with the pad on ginger bread. When ics comes there will be native support meaning full controller with USB controller supported games like GTA3, shadowgun, onlive.

Yea i was going to buy the sixaxis app. And then play some of the games from the new playstation store with a PS3 controller. But will it work?
And do you know why crash bandicoot is not in the PS store? Is it coming later or?

I can confirm Sixaxis app works well with Xperia S and with the right button mapping it also controls the games from PS store. So makes the perfect micro console.
Not sure when crash will come out as only came out on the other devices as a pre-installed freebe.

Only Root, Controller and App
Button mapping = while we are on Gingerbread you will have to change the button config 1 time in sixaxis settings (listed post below) for the playstation cert games. Or you can map button presses to screen if want (usefull for touch only games) . When we have ICS we will have full native controller support which means we will have the pad working fully sticks and everthing (eg GTA3 will control the same as if was on PS2)
Playstation Suite Mappings
All buttons are the obvious (left = left , L1 = L1) except these 4
Cross = Button A or D-pad center (d-pad center also works on all menus as enter)
Circle = Button B
Square = Button X
Triangle = Button Y
Xperia Play games mapping
Again all buttons are the obvious (left = left , L1 = L1) except these 4
Cross = D-pad center
Circle = Back
Square = X or Button X (cant remember which one)
Triangle = Y or Button Y (cant remember which one)
I've tested Sixaxiss controller.

Yes. But until ICS the sticks wont work as they should. You can either use a Sony Ericsson live dock (works with most USB pads), Or some low powered controllers should work with just an OTG cable.
For xperia s. Can use the app. to capture screenshot of game is........ please.
Once you get root you'll be able to use a Dualshock/Sixaxis controller, you need root for the pairing app see. Then it just runs as a regular controller, of if you want you can use it as an IME(bind buttons like a USB keyboard for compatibility with some emulators).
Execuse me.Which application can capture the screen of any games on xperia s (2.3.7) ?

changed build.prop device name to softwin looks like it did the trick, downloading asphault now, will report it it plays or not. has opened up pretty much my whole library of games and apps doing this tweak. you need a rooted device (running .510 right now).

Here's some good recommendations for you:
AirAttack HD
Anomaly Korea
Asphalt 8
Dead Space
Dead Trigger
Dungeon Hunter 4
Real Racing 3
Samurai II Vengeance
ShadowGun
All of the above titles can be either downloaded/purchased from Play store, except for Asphalt 8 (Which is not compatible with Z Ultra at the moment)
You don't really need to change build.prop device name in order to get Asphalt 8 - if you have a rooted phone.
I'm just getting Asphalt 8 to try it out, will definitely purchase it legally from Play store once it's available for Z Ultra.
If you have a dualshock3 controller & your phone is rooted, then you can purchase Sixaxis Controller app to map the buttons & use the dualshock3 controller instead.
I prefer to use dualshock3 controller because it's a hundred times easier to control, rather than using the touch screen input.
Hope the above info helps.

wrong. 320 default
you can scale it down to as much as you link but 190 is PRETYYYY tiny. I've gone as low as 240 but the UI started getting misaligned- 265 is ideal.

There are a lot of devices not supported in the playstore for this game.. But the good news is you don't need to change anything,.. just follow this video tutorial on how to download and install... as stated above, 'buy' it properly when the playstore support tree is updated with the ZU

*cough* You don't need the Sixaxis Controller app on Sony phones. They support the PS3 controller natively. You only need an OTG cable (USB On-The-Go) - which is cheap, and then you just plug the controller to the phone, and once it's connected and synced, you can unplug it and use it.
This only works for games that supports controllers, so if you need to map the buttons, you'll need the Sixaxis app. When i think about it, just ignore the whole first part of this post. I could edit it, but i've written it and i'm not throwing it away, god damn it

Yes, the Z Ultra natively supports the dualshock3 controller.
All you need to do is to connect the controller to your phone via a USB OTG adapter.
After that, you can unplug the cables & the dualshock3 controller will work wireless. You can control the phone UI using the dualshock3 controller & it also works for certain android games that supports controller input.
However, there's a misconception among people thinking that all android games will work that way.
Unfortunately, that's not the case. Majority of the android games out there are designed with touch screen input in mind - meaning that they don't support any controller input at all.
The moment you load a game that does not support controller input, you will find that you can't use the dualshock3 at all. Although it is still connected to your phone via bluetooth connection but you can't use it inside the game.
That's why you need the Sixaxis Controller app to map the game's touch buttons to your dualshock3 controller, in order to use it inside the game.
Hope the above info clear things up.
While we're at it, if you use SixAxis Controller and you don't want to spend time mapping the controls, then just go to SixAxis Of Power or this thread. But it's pretty easy to make them yourself, so if you have some questions then just ask.
