I've got a S6 system dump but, unfortunately, a lot of APKs are corrupted. Some apks seems to work fine. I think Weather app works too, but gives me force close due to missing Daemon service. Anyway, other things are perfectly working in our devices just like the sound files. There's no much difference between the old and new sounds: Finally, most of the S3 sounds are gone (bye bye, Whistle.ogg!) and replaced with a bit more subtle ones (Whistle replaced with Skyline, etc). Also, a new Over the Horizon ringtone and PowerOn sounds are there. Grab the zip below and enjoy! Works in every phone capable to play ogg files (all Samsung devices since the i9000), LGs, etc.

Just extract the zip und copy the media folder to system/media and let the folders merge. After that don't forget to set permissions on each audio file.

Hey, in S6 they just used peel remote (From Samsung apps or google play) no Samsung customizing.
It looks like smart remote but material (Used it since the Note 4 came out because I didn't like the smart remote from Samsung anyway )

If you want some of these new ringtones like Beginning, Prelude, Warm_Greetings, they don't exist on the Note 4. You can do like I did and use ZArchiver to view and play the ogg files while still zipped, multi-select the ones you like, navigate to ExtSdCard and create the corresponding folder like "ringtones" or add "notifications", if that's your choice, and drop them in there and reboot for the media scanner to add them as ringtones in the menus. Did this all within the app; no unzipping; no permissions to set.
You'll have tones that survive ROM flashes and most wipes don't include the ExtSdCard so it's as permanent as you like it to be.
Pretty sure you'd have to have your sdcard permissions in order to create a folder and write. I used FolderMount on TW Lollipop.

Basic info about porting apps from S4 to Note 2 or S3:
The system dump of Galaxy S4 was leaked so I tried to find out the .jar and .so dependencies of each apk in order to make some apps working on Galaxy S3 Note2 and Galaxy S3.
1-I found out that some apps were specilly developed for 4.2.2 but that shouldn't something difficult to fix
2-As usual, most apps not only depend on .so files but also on .jar files from /sytem/framework (specially ext.jar, core.jar, framework.jar and framework2.jar. As I don't have a clue about modding .jar files I couldn't go further on my experiment
S Translator with voice recognition working
At least I managed to have a better S Translator with voice recognition working thanks to the necessary .so file.
However it still force closes if you tap on "history" or "preset phrases", it could be fixed if someone knows how to port 4 specific .jar files.
Edit:Updated so now you can flash it via CWM instead of copy&paste with root explorer.

Hi works very nicely once the files are in stated in correct places. Also need to change the permissions for both the files to rw-r-r to work properly.

Camera app has lot of .so and .jar dependencies. It would take too much time to port those framework files. It might be even easier to port the s4 rom and that's not easy ar all neither...
I think we can forget about S4 apps like camera, gallery, launcher, music player or video player at least till we get a 4.2 leak

I fixed the FC that occured when you press History so now it only will have the bug when pressing on preset sentences. I will upload the update later.
Right now I'm not on the computer where I wrote the dependencies so I can't fix the last bug yet.
And also now I'm a bit busy with S4 Accuweather (real one, no mods).
Unfortunately it only has the 3x2 widget and the widget design of easylauncher instead of seclauncher3... I gotta work a little bit more on it, if someone is willing to help it will be welcome.

The so file permission is just rw-----, should be rw-r--r--, right?
And the S-Voice server is acting weird for the S4 apk, don't know if there is any workaround for the constant "network connection error"

It,s my permission configuration and i think that,s correct,and i have any problem with network (it works if i type the words but can,t recognizes the voices).
Another problem is if i select cronology,it cause a force close the app.

System Volume Increase Modification
Okay one of the things that i think bugs us all is the fact that the volume output is lower than we like across, headphones, bluetooth speakers etc.
So here i present the latest version of the Volume Increase Modification for the Galaxy Mega all I920x editions
The files attached can be used on both I9200 and I9205
Okay so whats tweaked:
Headphone Ouput increased at both non restricted and restricted levels.
Bluetooth Output increased nominally
Speaker output increased very slightly (1 percent) as do not want to blow this baby
Mic input slighlty increased for louder transmission
VOIP levels increased slighlty
I have tested this with music and video, and both headphones and Speakers have a lot more headroom now.
Anyways As always you download and install at your own risk
DEVS - Feel free to use this mod if you so wish, its obvious which files have changed and if you want to add credits then thats cool too
Ignore the status 7 error the flash has completed fine
DEC 15th 2013 - CM11 Edition now live, only flash this version if you are running CM11 obviously
DEC 21st 2013 - compatible with paranoid android
Silesh build from 16th Dec already includes my files

nope doesn't work on the I9200 it gives a (status 7) error in recovery
Dont worry about the error means nothing you can tell if its installed as in your sd card an audio folder with backups will be there

Hi, have you tried the app called Root Explorer, and try to delete the folder with R/W permissions?
ES File Manager is horrible on the Mega, I have used it happily for years but now have File Explorer instead. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=nextapp.fx&hl=en

I tried other file managers including the root explorer. Its not working even if I change the permission . There's no way to delete the backup files. Gonna have to wait for the script of thering1975. Thanks in advance.

Not much to say, just a simple mod of "Keyguard.apk"
Just grab my file and follow this easy to understand tutorial by @optx :good: (To lazy to do so myself :laugh
Howto :
- Download the" Keyguard.apk"from here to your Smartphone
- Take a root explorer of your choice.
- Navigate to root/system/priv-app.(See place.jpg for Info)
- Make a Copy of your "Keyguard.apk" , so you can go back if you don't like it.
- Go to the modified "Keyguard.apk" on your Smartphone and copy/paste it to root/system/priv-app. Override the original file.
- Change the permissons of the "Keyguard.apk" back to standard (rw--r--r-)
- Reboot immediately after.
- Enjoy
PS: Remember to allways rename the .apk file to "Keyguard.apk"

Anybody here on Alliance Int rom successfully use this mod? I followed OP and when my phone booted, non stop systemui FCs, had to go into recovery file manager to delete the mod and put back my original keyguard.

Thanks :good: but is as I feared. All apks use a different extension for images files (.qmg or .webp) and S4 doesn't support it.
have the extracted Rom, and see that in all apps the res folders all pictures are now .qmg files!
So it means that they encrypted!! Damn Samsung

Exactly. I already know this since Sammy release 4.4.4 for a variant of S5 but I was hoping that they don't used this on Note 4 apps.

qmg is simply a container, created by Samsung for bootanimation, which atm can be only created nor opened neither edited.
So in case qmg will be supported in rom, no more theming will be possible...

Two kinds of them aren't have been encrypted.
We can open .qmp files in samsung designer tools.
And we can also open webp in chrome.
Samsung decided it to reduce it's amount.
You know Galaxy Note 4 has QHD display.
We should understand it.

Download / Instructions
This APK will require you to replace a .so file that the keyboard relies on, which isn't packaged with the keyboard itself. Here's how you do it.
Download the Keyboard APK and libjni_latinimegoogle.so below.
Install the Keyboard APK. At this point the keyboard will likely crash if you try to use it.
Back up your current libjni_latinimegoogle.so file (found in /system/lib) and replace it with the one you just downloaded, using the file explorer of your choice. Be sure permissions are set to rw-r--r--.
The APK is signed by Google and upgrades your existing app. The cryptographic signature guarantees that the file is safe to install and was not tampered with in any way. Rather than wait for Google to push this download to your devices, which can take days, download and install it just like any other APK.

Yes u can use it on dn4.. Works perfectly
