What are the options for roms / custom roms for an Enlighten phone? I am currently running android v2.3.4, kernel 2.6.35.7+
I would LOVE to get away from the bloatware version I currently have.
I did download Rom Manager and looked through the options there but none seemed like they would work. Did I miss something?
Suggestions?
Thanks.

Currently I have a VS G-Tablet running VegANtab 7.0.0. It's a miracle that I was somehow able to install that rom without significant problems. I like VegANtab, but I find myself longing for the old stock interface (dashboard launcher) and the old apps which I cannot duplicate through the app store or at least I cannot find any self-contained calendar or contacts apps that do not sync to a google account. (I hate that syncing.)
So I'm looking for a way to run the old interface on a more current rom. I understand that this is TnT which is not VegANtab. I've searched the internet for ways to do this, and the results I received have left my head spinning.
Apparently, it is possible to do so with something called a Caulkin rom. What is a Caulkin rom? Something like TnT or CyanogenMod? I've never come across it before. Is the Caulkin rom just a kernel, and I have to install another rom together with it?
Can anyone point me to some info about this rom and to where I can download it?
Thanks.
There is a thread for Caulkulin's rom in the development section. It's just a seperate Rom, like the Vegan that you're using, or the original TNT was. Basically, you just flash it like you did the Vegan 7 Rom that you've already flashed.
It's called Caulkulin/Clemysn because it also comes with a custom kernel developed by Clemsyn. For instance, with you're vegantab 7 rom, you could always also flash a kernel, Clemysn, Pershoot, etc...but with the Caulkulin one, it comes packaged with the Rom.
There are many, many roms out there, now..it's basically up to you ot find one that makes you happy. some are ports of other systems roms, while others are more built from scratch using information that is available.

Hi to all,
Recently rooted my stock SGS2 i9000, and flashed it with the above rom.
Couple of noob questions though.
How to access the rom's settings?
ie, i dont want the battery percentage icon showing?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thxs.
Hi, that rom is based on the stock samsung firmware, it doesn't really have many tweakable options like that, go with a AOKP rom if you want a load of options to tweak and play with.

Thxs for the quick reply.
Do you have any favourite roms that would suit my needs (tweakable).
thxs.
If you have the i9000 instead of the i9100, best to check out their section on xda. Not a good idea to flash i9100 roms on the i9000.
Hi all,
I'm currently using the stock firmware 4.2.2 and I don't have any problem yet, it seems fast and everything but I heard custom rom are usually faster.
I have checked a few roms and I'd like to try them but what I usually see when trying to decide what rom to install is that features that are improved are usually listed but there's not a list of things that don't work or don't work as good we in the stock firmware.
For example, it seems like some rom have problems with gps, other with audio, some with wireless.
There are two roms I would like to choose from
-HTC OneX+ INTER CM10.2 (4.3) Nightlies & M1
and
-CarbonRom UNOFFICIAL JB 4.3.1 - 2013_11_11
which one would you advise? and what problems do they have?
is it there something else that you would advise me to install instead?
Thank you
What ROM to use is very subjective and really varies user by user. The best way to get information is to start reading the ROM threads and then when you have enough information flash it and see if it works for you.
I'm looking for help selecting a ROM that is stable. I've flashed about a half dozen ROMS over the past few months and seem to have to switch because of bugs. Maybe it's because I get whatever is the newest. But I only have three requirements:
STABLE
NFC/Isis/Softcard compatible (even via mod)
Like S5 apps/styling
I really like being able to so *#0011# to see if I'm in AWS mode, but isn't required. I can't seem to do it with AOSP ROMS
Thank you

Chaos ROM has an S5 theme...
Most stable ROM I've seen is Eclipse though.
If you want stability and s5 features with NFC, go for hyperdrive, its also customizable. If you want a aosp ROM, do eclipse. Those are prob the best Roms for the s4
I'm looking for a simple custom rom that's similar to AOSP or AOKP, but also includes some stock s5 features and certain Tmobile apps. There appear to be many custom roms, and I don't want to try them all. I'd like it to be as stock as possible, with maybe just a few tweaks, because I do have a concern for glitches and such. Does anyone know of a custom rom like Im asking about, or is there a way to get some of my stock Samsung and Tmobile apps onto a rom of my choice. I appreciate your time.
Any of the current roms will be fine for you. Or you could go with XtreStoLite G900T
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2800402
u can install any custom rom then from there install any samsung and tmobile u like, im using XtreStoLite G900T with most of Samsung app installed and it running great for me.
Thanks, this is actually really close to what I'm looking for. Any more reccomendations are appreciated though.
