I am trying to sync my BQ Aquaris Ubuntu Phone with my Caldav and Carddav Server. To follow this guide on how set everything up I tried to connect to my phone via adb shell. Unfortunatley I get "error: device not found"...
The phone is mounted as mtp. I also tried different USB-cables. I turned the device and my Computer on and off. I killed and started the adb server...
Still no success. Maybe someone can help me.

I can't post links yet but google "bq-e4-5-adb-fails", the article is on the ask Ubuntu site. You need to add the BQ vendor ID so that adb recognize your new phone.
You can install "ubuntu-sdk" (search ppa in google) and then put your bq in developer mode, open ubuntu-sdk, go to devices and open ssh session. And then you don't need adb, you can exec sync using ssh session.

Hi, I am looking for usb driver for viewpad 7 for using adb. Can anybody provide and link or pointers from where can I get the same.
Thanks,
Dang
There's no "real" driver...
Just connect your Viewpad 7 to your PC.
A window pops up where you can select "setup.exe" - select it.
Then a few drivers get installed (perhaps a restart is necessary)
Seems like the Viewpad 7 has a virtual drive which gets mounted when connecting it to a PC - it's shown up as virtual CD-drive for me under Windows XP and Windows 7.
PS: The drivers are also located on the virtual CD-drive in a directory.
Make sure you run the file from the virtual optical drive if you have autorun disabled.
Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using XDA App
plug youre viewpad in now youre pc see een cdrom right click and open use that adb.exe that one works
How to remove the virtual drive
I have already installed the drivers from this drive, but whenever I connect the device, the virtual CD-ROM drive still appears. Anyone know how to get rid of it?

I always open the Sync tool then (do nothing, no sync or so).
That's the only way my Windows 7 PC recognizes the tablet via ADB.
I have been doing that as well, but it's just annoying to have this extra drive that is of no use and just sits there taking up a drive letter.
Stupid question, ive never used adb, but does this mean i dont have to download it because already cames on that virtual drive, and so i only need to install it ?
Now i manage to install the drivers.
I go to the command line in windows and write :
adb usb
adb devices, and get this:
List of devices attached
FM6120420141
Then i do,
adb shell, and nothing happens.
Ive tried several commands and nothing works, what m i doing wrong here ?

Solved driver issue on windows7
Hi,
I was facing issue in connecting viewpad7 to windows7 machine. Even synchronization steps were failing. Manuall attempt to run "adb.exe devices" were unable to detect the device. Here is my steps that I did for rooting the device with SuperOnceClick(SOC)1.7-
1. Initially driver were not detected/installed on windows7. Only CDROM displaying setup was displayed and clicking "Setup.exe" is not installing drivers. Copy the All files on computer and say folder name is "v7Setup".
2. To Install drivers, Connect Tablet/Phone to windows7, select "USB Tethering in tablet" (This is needed to detect devices by Windows7), in windows7:check the "Device Manager", it can show "Others" two devices: HSUSB & RNDIS. Update the driver for both devices from "v7setup/RUT/*" folders.
3. Now start SOC1.7 and select "rageagainstthecage" and click root. It may wait at "Running rageagainstthecage..." message in SOC log window. Then disconnect the Tablet after waiting for 1-2 minute and connect again after beep sound from windows7. Here, again I needed to install the drivers as mentioned in step2. SOC1.7 will proceed and finally in poup message, it will ask to "push su" files. And Done.
Hi,
i have the latest android sdk installed on my pc. If i try to connect my new Yuandao N101 tablet it is not recognized by adb.exe devices. adb.exe is version 1.0.29.
If i kill the adb service and start adb 1.0.26 from SuperOnClick rooter it recognizes the device and rooting works without problems.
As device driver for adb i am using the one included in PDAnet.
I tried to exchange the adb.exe in the android sdk with the 1.0.26 version. After this eclipse/adb recognize the device and are able to install apk files and start them. But after this the connection breaks. Seems that current sdk is unable to work with adb 1.0.26.
Any idea how i can make it for adb 1.0.29 to work with my tablet?
Best regards, Udo
Hi,
no one an idea? I tried a lot today but still am unable to get the yuandao n101 to work with adb 1.0.29. It just did not recognize the tablet.
With adb 1.0.26 everything seems fine - but i have to use the current android sdk. Someon an alternative driver out there?
BTW: I am using Windows Vista x64
Ciao, Udo
Thanks so much for posting this.

Hi!
I have a problem - ADB see my device as offline on PC. I tried many solves but no one helped me.
My configuration:
PC - Win7 (32), ADB v.1.0.31
Device - Android 4.0.3, ADB v.1.0.29
I don't know what happened but one morning couldn't connect to my device. Please, help!!
Before you lost USB connection, had you connected to it over Wi-Fi using the "adb connect (your IP address here)"? If so, try using [adb disconnect (Your IAP address)]

If device is detected on your PC, goto to Device Manager, check vendor id of ADB device, then edit adb_usb.ini (%HOMEPATH%/.android/) and add them e.g."0x2207" is vendor id for Rockchip. Restart adb.

I have 2 strings:
USB\VID_0BB4&PID_0C03&REV_0255&MI_01
USB\VID_0BB4&PID_0C03&MI_01
In adb_usb.ini I must add just 0x0BB4. Is it right?
I added 0x0BB4 in adb_usb.ini and restart adb on PC. Nothing changed.
I was wrong, my device is OK, because it works on another PC. So I need restore working state my PC.
How to do it?
Well, I have new njuans. I reinstall PC drivers for device, I reinstall Android SDK and ... my device is still offline, though another device ara online and work perfectly. I installed "WiFi ADB Pro" on my device and it's work. My device is online, but it's via WiFi.
What can I do to work via wire?

Windows drivers are temperamental. Best practice is to tether your kindle then uninstall any related entries in Windows device manager (plug/unplug a few times to identify the entries). Disconnect device and reboot. Then retether and allow Windows to reinstall drivers from scratch.
You may have to get Kindle specific drivers: https://developer.amazon.com/appsan...ing-up-the-ADB-Driver-for-Kindle-Fire-Devices.
There are several threads in the Android Development forum that cover the required gymnastics. It is not well organized so you'll have to do some reading. Set aside a few hours and the beverage of your choice for the journey.
Hi, I hope I am posting in the right section? I found the site really difficult to navigate having never used the site before. If its in the wrong place please can a mod move it.
Ok so I have an Android Set Top Box (STB) and I am trying to extract all the data from it. It is an mxp pro 4k. I don't want a backup of the data I want to extract full images of the device for analysing with forensic tools. The problem is I can't seem to communicate with it. I have the full SDK that is up to date, once navigated to the platform tools folder I opened a command line and typed
Code:
adb devices
after plugging in a USB cable to the OTG port. No prompts appeared on the screen to trust any connections like my iPhone does when I connect it. Adb devices returns no results. So I tried wireless adb, I typed
Code:
adb connect 192.168.x.x
and it said connected. Then when running the devices command I had the ip and port then the word device. I then get a shell by using
Code:
adb shell
Which i then elevate to root by using
Code:
su
. Then when i try an adb pull or adb backup I get a message saying error device offline.
Im new to Android so not even sure I am doing it right. I have done a lot of reading and research but seem to be stuck with the basics. To confirm USB debugging is turned on.
