I'm coming from a GPE S4 so my knowledge is sort of outdated.
My S5 is currently on the NK2 firmware. I'd like to install TWRP, root and then install a custom Lollipop ROM.
-Can I do this and install a Touchwiz based ROM without tripping knox?
-Can I do this and install an AOSP based ROM without tripping knox?
-Are AOSP based ROMs missing any Samsung drivers? I.e. things like Camera. (In other words, would a Touchwiz based ROM have a "better" Camera)

Installing a custom recovery WILL trip Knox. So if you don't want to trip Knox, you options are limited. There is a thread that talks about upgrading to Lollipop without tripping Knox and it talks about using SafeStrap to flash ROMs but that too is limited.

I'm the south Korean Android user who has IM-A870L(VEGA iron). I also wan to experience Lollipop(Android 5.0), and i think the only way to use lollipop is using custom rom like Cm12, Miui6. I found a custom rom in Tekcafe, and i realized it's unofficial custom rom, is it possible to do OTA even if it isn't official? I am hoping that i can use OTA instead of factory reset to install new custom rom.
Please be interested in developing IM-A870L rom.

I am wanting to root my Verizon S4 and you know, locked bootloader. So I am wondering if there is a way to downgrade to Jellybean or Kitkat to root it and get cyanogen.
So....
No
Yes
NO
You cannot downgrade to kitkat or downgrade your bootloader in general with this phone. There are multiple guides to rooting lollipop, just search in the general section. You cannot get a custom recovery on this phone, only flashfire. Flashfire can only flash touchwiz roms that are specifically designed to do so(and of similar base).
Hey Guys,
I would like to know if there was a way to somehow root my S5 Neo SM-G903F with Knox 0x0. I've tried various Exploits such as Rowhammer and Dirty Cow. Even the Kingo and Kingroot Apps dont work. They stop at 90%. I had an S4 Value Edition once and I discovered a root method with downgrading to 4.4.4 with a old kernel use Towelroot and then use Flashfire to go back to 5.0.1 with Knox Staying Cool and root. But the problem is that i really dont know if my Knox will stay cool after Upgrading to 6.0.1 from 5.1.1 with the same Flashfire method because the root exploits work for lollipop but not for Marshmallow. There were some threads that claimed that root on 6.0 required a modifiyed boot image.
Thank you in advantage for anything that could help me or clarify the 5.0 to 6.0 issue

There are stock based custom ROMs (like A.I.X., found elsewhere) and LOS based custom ROMs. AIX -- based on V30 stock Pie, Android 9 -- has improved LG stock camera.
Your won't have and can't have stock camera on LOS-based custom ROMs.
You can always return to stock firmware. Sometimes you have to go back to Nougat first to erase/flush out all the effects, then update back to more current stock firmware.
I'm running rooted stock Oreo myself.
