So I'm running the latest official cyanogenmod snapshot (2014-11-12 m12). Everything's been working great, except that half the time it doesn't send my texts.
I haven't had any problems receiving SMS or MMS, but after sending one text I lose the ability to send more (only tried sending SMS tho).
By default I use Textra, but the problem affects any texting app. For example, I just switched to the stock Messaging app and sent 3 test SMS texts... Only the first one sent. The other two got "Error: -1" under Details.
Another thing to note is that I don't get wireless signal in some areas that I used to... Normally I'm in Global Mode and switching to other modes doesn't seem to help.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

I receive mesaages just fine, but my messages are stuck 'sending'. this is with handcent and default messaging. Also, i am unable to download pictures that i receive..nor do people get the ones i send...what gives. Had no issues on 1.6
Also, sense i am on the subject, anyway to make handcent look like the default messenger?

SMS issue
If you are not receiving it sounds like there is a problem with your phone account, phone your network operator and check that they haven't put a bar on your account (for late payment etc). MMS issue sounds like you don't have the right APN for your network, either use the Sony Ericsson set-up wizard to get the right settings or get your network operator to send them to you.

I'm hearing ya mate, probably 1 in 10 messages "cannot send" but is ok if i retry sending .
a strange glitch....thought i was on my own here
I had it too. I just restarted the phone and now it's working again. No idea what caused it.
Hi
When i receive a sms, sometimes handcent doesn't notifiy me (no sms notification icon, no sound and no vibration), and sometimes it does. I didn't notice any special situation in which it notifies me or not.
Have you ever noticed this behaviour? Do you have a solution?
Thanks
I am not having that problem... try looking in the Messaging app and see in the settings if the Notification for sms is checked.
I checked the notification setting, it was activated.

strange .. I didn't experience your issue, I receive about 10-15 sms a day. I've just sent 5 sms from another phone to myself within 30 minutes and I received notifications for all of them. Try reflashing the rom on top the one u have first wiping cache and dalvik-cache and see if the problem persists over the next days.
I made all wipes every time i flashed roms. I have this problem since at least the first time i've used an elelinux rom, v3.1 and v3.6, i'm not sure the problem appeared before or not - before elelinux, i used original cyanogen roms, several builds of 6.1 and 7.1 roms.
However, i don't think the problem comes especially from elelinux rom because i made a test : i activated sms notifications in both handcent and original android sms program to make a test. Result : original sms program always notified me of sms reception while handcent sometimes did, sometimes didn't.
If i don't find any way to solve that problem, i'll try to find a program that only aims at notifying the user of sms reception and redirecting him to the sms program of his choice.
Thank you.

it is happening due to handcent app. i had that problem it will only resolve with a clean installation of handcent app or try to reset all settings, if it didnt work use another sms app. because i have sms tone problem with handcent app sometimes it beeps sometimes it rings whatever its all handcent error now a days i have LED problem with it. try some thing else
Ok, i removed then installed it. Now i'll see how it behaves.
Until now, i reinstalled it from backup ((app and data) using TitaniumBackup each time i flashed a new rom.
Thank you
There's no difference.
I activated notifications of both handcent and the original SMS program. The problem seems to appear with original program too. Sometimes they both notify me of sms reception, sometimes only one of both, sometimes none... :'(
Ok, I have a Samsung Galaxy S2 on T-Mobile, not sure if this is the same for all carriers.
I have been using Go SMS Pro. Never had any issues till they updated it a few updates ago..I have uninstalled it and reinstalled. The problem is, that some Text (SMS)messages won't send, they FAIL. It don't matter if it's short (5 or less words) or long. or to who it gets sent to. I can, however, exit out of this app, and try to send it using the stock App that came with the phone and it sends without any issues. I am lost at this point as to why it keeps happening, or how to fix it.
Has anyone else experienced this isuue and if so, how have you fixed it?
I have alos tried to use Hancent SMS and it also did the same thing..
hmm i'm having a similar problem, but mine does send after a while instead of failing to send completely. Sometimes, my text messages will be stuck during the "sending" animation, where the green arrow just keeps loading and doesn't stop (which means it's not sent out). After a while, it will send out, but that's usually after i send a txt to someone else or if i exit and restart GO SMS PRO, or do something else. I'm not sure exactly but it just works after a while.
It's nothing to do with bad signals either. I'm not sure if it's because I've updated my Motorola Milestone to CM7 RC1, because i've never had this problem before on CM7 RC0. I dunno, it could be due to basebands as well? For my Milestone, I can choose to switch between basebands in the settings (provided by CM7 itself), but i've never had this problem before so i dunno....
I actually gave up on that app...happened quite too many times.. I now use Hancent SMS and never have this issue again... It also was happening to a co-worker and she did the same thing after I told her about it..

Sorry, as silly as this sounds...I gave up on this app a long time ago and went with Hancent SMS Pro...only had this issue once with them and found out on my type of phone Galaxy S2, I can't disable the other SMS apps in Handcent, I had to leave it enabled...so try that with Go SMS Pro...I don't know/remember if Go SMS had this option in the Settings...Good Luck...let us know if that worked or not...
Had the same problem using Go SMS with two SIM cards. Both failed to send to certain numbers; so it's not an issue with providers. Solved this way: Go SMS settings, More tools, SMS blocker, Settings, disable all black list and white lists. The app runs normally again. The developers should take note of this.
hhhmmmm... same here... I can't send SMS using GO SMS Pro to my Samsung Galaxy Note 1. But I can send message using the ordinary app here which has only 80 characters.... What should I do? How can I fix it? But it works in my Motorola phone.. hhhmmm....
Just go to your app manager, then choose ho sms pro, then below the premissions part. You can see the options on sending premium sms. Select ASK and try if it works again...
i found this application and bought it just to test it and it works, i send, receive and synchronize sms with/from my phone, also i can make or receive phone calls(if we had a working mic to our touchpad). I am using bluetooth mode but wifi mode is available. but not working for me.

This can be done for free on Webos , How to pair(almost) any phone with TouchPad to send and recv SMS/Calls!!! Like Pre3 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1290274. i have done this myself and it works perfectly.
Also if you install SMS Backup+ on your phone you can link to any Gmail A/C and Automatically backup SMS, MMS and call log entries using a separate label in Gmail / Google Calendar. It is also possible to restore SMS and call log entries back to the phone.

Hope this is of use.
yes i know that this can be done in webos, i did it there and i was exited to find a way to do it in cm9 too cause its sooo cool feature not only about sms but for handling calls too. So now i have another reason to get anxious for microphone fix
anyway its an easy and unique app that i was looking from the first time a got my tp so i thought to share it.
I have recently purchased a new i605, rooted, unlocked, and installed TWRP through Casual. And flashed CM10.2-20130827-Nightly-i605. I finally received my SIM cutter in the mail today, and pulled the full size Straight Talk SIM out of my Skyrocket that I have been using with no issues for almost 2 years, cut the SIM, put it in the Note 2, and entered the APN settings. It is receiving good signal, showing the "H" and "H+" the majority of the time. I can make voice calls, receive voice calls, send/receive MMS, and have good data sending and receiving. My only issue is, I can only receive SMS, and when I try to send (or reply to one already received) I get the "Message not sent" error. I saw a possible fix, of updating your SMSC, but I have no clue how to find what my SMSC is in order to input it, and haven't been able to find it either. I tried editing the way the telephone numbers are stored from +1 250-250-2500, to (250)250-2500, +12502502500, +1 (250)250-2500. I also saw where someone found a fix for their situation, where they had accidentally set Google Voice to send text messages. I went into the settings on my Voice app, and that setting was turned on, so I turned it off. But I am still having the same results when trying to send an SMS.
Does anyone have a clue as to how I can find what my SMSC is, so that I can try that fix for the issue?
Did I post this in the appropriate subsection of the Verizon Note 2 forum?
I'm in the exact same situation you are. Send/receive calls, receive texts but can't send texts. I received a new note 2 through insurance two days ago and did the same process of rooting the phone, except I flashed jedix17 on it. So I'm guessing the problem lies in the roms? I haven't had time to switch roms to see if that fixes it though. I'd like to see if there's an easier alternate solution as well.
Ok, I got to playing with the "fixes" I had already attempted, for a second time. Google Voice was set to send SMS, and I would change the setting in Voice to make the messaging app send SMS. Well, I noticed that after closing Voice, then going back to the settings in Voice, it would be set to Google Voice sending SMS again. So I Force Closed the Voice app, and uninstalled it, and the issue cleared up. I have no idea why the app would be automatically changing it's own settings back, after closing it though.
I see. Then it seems you and I don't have the same root problem. I don't have an alternative texting app, so I guess I'm off to reflash my rom.

Did you figure out your issue? If you flashed Gapps, you may have Voice+. Check in your app drawer just to make sure.
Yeah I have fixed it Thanks for asking (and yeah I did check and I did not have voice). Reflashing the rom did indeed work
