Where is the official cm12 thread? - Xperia Z2 Tablet Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm considering going from rooted stock 4.4.4 to cm12 Android lollipop. But I can't find a thread on it here listing the current issues etc. I've looked on the official cm forums, but there are just a few posts about bugs etc.
Is there a thread about cm12 here on xda?
Thanks

Not really. I can tell you it works well though. I can't personally find any bugs on the latest builds. Castor windy here.

That sucks! There usually is for other devices. It annoys me how a device with such great hardware doesn't seem to get as much custom rom attention as other devices.

Slightly Newer Slimbean Build 4 YP-G70

I was sifting through some files on my player and I found a Slimbean build that's slightly newer than the one in the dev forum so I thought I'd post it here...
So here is Slimbean 4.2.2 build 8.1 for Player 5.0:
http://www.4shared.com/zip/24rAUJd-/Slim-422build81-UNOFFICIAL-201.html
Refer to http://slimroms.net/ for installation instructions and gapps..
It should work but, I built it back in August, and as far as I know it didn't have any issues beyond the normal 4.2.2 issues.
Also, if there is any interest, I could probably build a newer Slimbean. So if that's something that is wanted, post here...
Here's my vote
I would look forward to newer Slimbean Rom's, and would provide feedback about newer versions you may develop. I haven't tried the one you posted, but if it would be helpful to you, I surely will. Thanks for your efforts here !!

Nah, I just put it up in case anyone wanted it. If there is more interest in Slimbean, I'll do some builds but, if nobody wants it then I'm not going to bother.
i'd love to see new slimbean for 5.0.
I noticed that the 4.0 already has kitkat, should we expect to get kitkat to 5.0 shortly?

I've looked into it a little and from what I can tell, making MIUI is very different then building android. It seems like it's kinda patched together using reverse engineered smali code.

Lack of knowledge can be resolved by "reading", "learning", "comprehending", and "asking"
Lack of experience can be resolved by "trying","failing","retrying", and eventually "succeeding"
Lack of time can be resolved by "making time" or "taking time"
Just sayin'

Gapps question
Thanks so much for bringing Slimbean 4.3 to our device !! Slimbean is my daily driver, and it's great to see development for our device continue.
Apologies in advance for my ignorance: Which is the correct gapps category/file to use for this ROM and our device? Would it be i9100? or Crespo? or ??? I'm clueless...

Interesting. Nice find, I didn't know this one. I will test to see if it's really KitKat :good:
Edit: it is a beautiful ROM, but it isn't KitKat. It's the same Android JB we all have in our devices. I'm considering to keep it installed.
It is for i8552B

well its nice, much lighter than the original stock rom. Plus its better and much sleeker than the touchwiz. Although its not a major upgrade like cyanogenmod. But yeah, worth more than the stock rom. One of the cleanest rom for grand quattro :good:

Yes, I tested. Let me write a little review.
I would say Bionic Monkey (the name of the rom) is a stock-based rom, with some interesting mods. By default the rom changes the DPI, so more things fit on screen. Some apps are KitKat-themed, like contacts or dialer. The stock launcher was replaced by Google Experience Launcher. It's also pre-rooted and has support to multiwindow. I didn't test multiwindow, but I think it's nice on that rom because of DPI.
The major disadvantage is that the rom is not KitKat, despite the system info. You can test it by installing any app only for KitKat - it will refuse to install.
So, in general, it's a good rom for daily use, so you might give it a try.

There's no KK for us, at least for now. All the roms that claim to be any Android higher than 4.1.2 are actually themed roms with mods on build.prop, but in fact they are Android 4.1.2.
The exception is CM (the one in link provided by you), that is KK in fact. But is still unstable and not suited for daily use.

[Q] Most stable version of CM7

Hi all!!! I just got my nook tablet recently, and I'm having trouble finding ROMs for it. I'm currently running Cm10.2.1 but I wanted to flash something new, also what do I need to flash to be able to over clock?
Thanks All
You can get official CM11 builds from http://download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=acclaim and Gapps for CM11 from http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Google_Apps.
See http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2670589 for pointers on how to update from CM10 to CM11.
Thank you. I've already got cm11 nightlies. Was looking for cm7 and other Aosp roms is there a thread where a collection of ROMs has been setup?

CM7 is based on Android 3.0 (Honeycomb), many recently released/updated apps likely would not be backward compatible with it.
Your best bet for hunting for contemporary ROMs is to browse through the threads on http://forum.xda-developers.com/nook-tablet/development -- e.g., there are a handful of ROMs and custom kernels by developer Demetris you can try out.

Looking for PAC-ROM KitKat download

New to xda, but a veteran to modding electronics. All I'm looking for is the final stable release of PAC-ROM KK, if anyone has a copy or a DL location. Or if there was never any development, inform me otherwise
I just can't seem to find it, even the 5.1.1 forum directs me to a server error screen when I try to download it...
5.1.1 is the only one you could have now; maybe 6.0 later.

I was looking for a "one-and-done", and I have PAC on my Galaxy S4 as well. Just my favorite since my old Carbon days with my HTC Desire. So I shall be patient
Yet, if some kind soul has the most recent stable version they could send to me, I would be forever grateful.
Thank you everyone for answering my questions :highfive:

Yeah I saw that, just waiting for PAC to come back online. I'm fully rooted now and good to go, but now I notice the links for TWRP are expired or offline as well... I suppose it would just be simpler if someone had all these elusive files sitting on their cloud storage and I could grab a copy... I would be happy to host them on my Google Drive upon request.
They are back up.

Got recovery_MT2L03_mmcblk0p19.img and TWRP_MT2-L03_RECOVERY_v2.img from the Gdrive. I also downloaded twrp-2.8.6.0-mt2l03.img from another link in a post. Any recommendations to which is better?
This is a link to the one I use when I flash Carbon and PAC when swapping between the two when they are updated and its never given me any problems, It was created by one of the contributors to CyanogenMod http://android.cmphys.com/twrp-mt2/ . Its also listed on the fist page of the CyanogenMod post. As for PAC the download page should be up and running tomorrow sometime.

also the PAC download page is http://builds.gocanarytel.com/ , its down right now but should be up tomorrow sometime. Its the same link that the updater in the rom looks for to check and see if there is an update..

Thank you, and this may seem like a rather noobish question, but one that I've never wondered before: is a custom flashed recovery required to install a custom rom like PAC? I'm only asking because of that minimal cosmetic flaw of the charging LED issue.

Yes, you do need to flash the previously referenced custom TWRP recovery in order to install PAC, CM or Carbon ROMs onto the HAM2.
Here are the releases hosted by Nigel if anyone else was looking for them. Thank you all for your help!
If anybody knows how to help with this rather serious problem, I would be most appreciative.

Unofficial domanx kernel by Saber

Hi. I didn't want to clutter the dev thread by asking a question that's technically been answered.
I'm using this kernel https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...tives/kernel-dorimanx-kernel-los14-1-t3641994 by @Saber and tbh I'm enjoying it. Unfortunately, it only officially supports LOS.
While LOS is stable as a daily driver, at least to me, there are some features of other roms that I'd like to have.
I just wanted to know if anyone has tried this kernel with other Nougat roms, and which roms work with this. I've tried AOKP (and XenonHD iirc) but i ended up in a bootloop. Has anyone tried it with other roms? If so, which roms work and are therr any issues? Thanks a lot!

Thank you for your answer. I was hoping it might work on AOKP since the rom is based on LOS and AOSP. So i guess I'll have to use a rom based on AOSP only.

Small error. You should only use ROMs based purely on LineageOS. Any rom other than LineageOS will not get support so if something breaks, you'd be on your own

Oops. Typo. My apologies. I meant roms based solely on LOS, not AOSP. :silly:
And yes, i completely understand that it's not supported. And that i can't expect help (at least not officially) since your thread is clear. i respect that. I'm just trying to get info on what roms work with this. Biggest factor is that N roms with their stock kernels tend to give me issues (no deep sleep even when screen is off. Even LOS used to do that which is why i went back to KK). Your kernel fixed it, so i plan on using it for other roms that work with it.
