I have when I have the app tiny flashlight +led downloaded, and it's widget on the homescreen to the right of the main one that when I come from txt messenger..or hit home ( to see all the screens at once) then hit home again my screen will glitch.
Will someone please please try this to see if it is my phone, or the app. Please hit the home button a few times, and go from other apps back to main home screen and see if you get a glitch. Only seems to glitch whatever is on that main screen.. like in my case..beautiful widgets and smooth calendar widget. Also had a similar problem with visidon applock. On that one I would hit the home button and after a few times the screen previews would go all wonky.
I just need to know if my phone is messed up or if these 2 apps just cause problems with the RAZR. I just think its odd that I'm having problems with 2 different apps.
Thanks to any that help!!!
CORRECTION
both apps are now deleted and am still having the problem.
Can only describe as a screen glitch. widgets glitch out. I think you have to have some sort of widgets on the screen to see the issue. I took off all widgets other than the stock blur ones, and still have the issue.
Any help or ideas? Anyone having the same issue?
Yep I get this as well, especially on my power control plus widget.
Sent from my XT910 using XDA App
Surely this isn't normal? When I had beautiful widgets on it was SO obvious and annoying. Wondering what to do now? Take it back?
Hey all.
Anyone having issues with adding widgets on screen?
Whenever I add a widget its invisible.
If I hold down on space to resize it selects widget outline but still invisible. I can drag outline to delete it but Still cant see it.
I either need to reboot phone or wait like 5mins and eventually it will show.
Its really annoying !
Happened to me just once with a Factory Widgets clock. It occured after playing with many widgets for some time (downloading, testing and removing).
It never occured again.
My advice: Restart your device and try again. If it does not solve the problem, maybe you need to reset your Razr.
So twice now my icons disappeared on me. The only programs I can access will be the ones listed in the recently open list. I have to reboot to get the icons back.
Anyone else getting this? Also, I don't think I am doing much of anything but switching between apps. Thanks.
Little more info please?

I got this too last night
a lot of times when an app automatically updates, it removes the icon. looks at the icon that disappeared and see if it was automatically updated in the market.
Every icon installed and apps/games, widgets. I mean everything disappears. You can't even swipe left or right to get to your other desktop. The only things you can access are the home (which really doesn't do anything because you are already home), recently opened apps, and the back (which again will not do anything). Settings work too but that's it. To get everything back, you will need to reboot.
Icons also going invisible
Add me to the group of people who lose all their icons. This happens to me several times a day. The icons are still there just invisible. If i touch the right spot I can launch things as normal. I can also change the background if I touch an empty area. But every single icon is gone and the entire background is displayed. Also the app button which I can touch and launch if I pick the right spot simply brings up a blank black background again with no apps/icons.
I do have the video issues on occasion where certain games blink/flash and lock up, but usually don't do this if I restart the tablet and run the game first thing. Also have the random occasional screen tearing especially when using a live background.
I'm looking forward to the February update and hope this fixes the issue. I'd reset the icon cache if I knew how but I'm not sure that's the issue. If anyone has ideas let me know.
Thanks
Possible cause?
Hi guys,
I didn't have this issue after upgrading to 4.0.3, but then sometime last week I did start having the same issue with the stock launcher "crashing" (well, it was still running, but in brain-dead mode where it won't display icons or widgets).
I started un-installing stuff and after about 4 hours of messing around I noticed that the launcher didn't crash when I had disabled "cool tool". (This is a really cool floating CPU graph.) Cool tool _seemed_ to work fine on my prime, and I had it floating over the status/button bar. But apparently it was, after running for a couple hours, causing openGLRenderer to run out of memory which caused the launcher to freak out.
At least that's my take on what was happening. Anyway, I'm using SeePU now, and I haven't had a launcher "crash" in a couple days. Maybe this isn't your problem, but I used "System Info Pro" (or something like that) to view the android log. Might help in troubleshooting? If this IS the root cause, I guess somebody should tell the developer...
Getting this thing loaded with apps & widgets AND staying stable and fast has been a challenge to say the least. But a fun one. I think?!

Same bug here. It happened to me a couple of time. I reported it to Asus Canada yesterday... But no news yet.
It looks like the "foreground" become transparent/invisible. The System bar still works. For me, I can even click on the invisible icons to start the apps.
The only work-around I found is to reboot my device.
I experienced the bug once more this morning. I tought it was related to "force GPU rendering", I had it enabled and since I disabled it, most of my bugs are gone.
But this morning again, the foreground became "transparent" and I was only seeing the background.
BTW, you could rename the thread: "Icons disappearing/transparent desktop".
Also, does version .13 fix this?
Same problem here.
Problem occus now a few times a day. All Icons/Widgets and app drawer icon are invisible but still clickable! Only a restart solves the problem or going to settings->apps->force close for the homescreen-app will solve it for some time.
Any Ideas or a statement from ASUS?

I reported the problem to Asus.
You should do the same, if it's not already done.
I have seen this 3 times in day or so...any one had any update on cause or fix other than reboot
Same here
Add me to the list as well... all icons go transparent ... only see the background ... can tap "invisible" icons and they work ...
I confirm it is still present in WW .15.
Sometime a "force close" of the Launcher is enough, but other time it happens again and again, only a reboot fix it (for a while). Beside this (annoying) bug, I consider my Prime very stable. Gmail sometimes crash, but it seems to be fixed (or less prominent in .15).
Asus Tech. Support suggested me to do a factory reset... Haven't tried it yet. I may also try an alternate Launcher (Trebuchet...) to see if it's only related to the Launcher or the system.
PS: Don't forget to report it to Asus Tech. Support.
I saw this for the first time today on the non-Prime TF101. I upgraded to the FOTA ICS update a couple of weeks ago (for which I've observed the same occasional resets as others) but this is the first time I've had this app problem.
Different desktops can be accessed, but they're all blank. Apps can be run from their invisible icons. The top-right app menu also has invisible apps which can be run.
I have a small (2.5MB 30s) video, if I manage to upload it.
I had a similar thing again since, but this time the icons returned when moving between desktops. I think the common thing I was doing was grouping apps together into single composite icons.
I'm not 100% sure, but since I cleaned up my home screens it does not happen anymore. I removed all my widgets except for gmail and calendar. And all my stuff is on one screen (thanks to folders).
You may try this too to see if it makes a difference.
Thanks. My screens were almost completely full. But I never saw this issue until I started using folders!
I got it the other day for the first time.
I had just downloaded Simplistic Text.
Rebooted, everything was fine--just assumed it had something to do with some file cleanup or something that didn't get done after the download.
Ah, and fyi, I'm running Honeycomb on the Japanese build. (They still haven't given us the damned ICS yet over here.)
All the icons disappearing used to happen to me a couple of times a day, with only a reboot fixing the issue.
Whilst trying to fix a constantly crashing GMail I removed the Beautiful Widgets home screen weather/clock widget and this amazingly fixed the disappearing icons and hasn't happened since. One down only another 101 bugs left to fix!
Hope this helps someone.
Symptom: I have stock Sense 4.0 Weather Lock Screen setup and it works fine, for a while. Eventually it stops displaying any weather info and just shows the weather wallpaper on the lock screen.
Trouble shooting done: I tried setting using other Sense "active" lock screens and they continue to update info on them fine. This problems seems to be limited to the weather one.
Equipment & config: Stock EVO 4G lte ROM, rooted, stock recovery. Using Apex Launcher as the default launcher.
Thanks for any input!

Im guessing its because you are using nova launcher. The weather lockscreen might be more deeply woven into sense than the rest. I would use sense launcher and see if the problem remains.

I'll give it a try. (But using Apex Launcher wins over not have weather lock screen...)
Just setting the launcher default back to the Sense Launcher did not "wake up" the lock screen on it's own. So I switched the lock screen to "wallpaper" and then back to "weather". I'll see if it manages to keep working.
OK, switching back to the stock Sense Launcher did not clear up the problem.
Another possibility. I use the car dock and while I think HTC made a very pretty Car Dock Launcher, it really isn't as flexible as I need. Really, you can't even put your own shortcuts on it!
So, I installed the Google 'CarHomeGoogle.apk' (v. 2.2.1) and the 'CarHomeLauncher.apk' (v. 2.2) to make it visible.
It looks like the weather lock screen works fine, until I use the Google Car Home launcher. I will do some more testing to confirm.
If this turns out to be what is happening does anyone have recommendations for a car launcher that doesn't break the weather lock screen? One that works with ICS so that it doesn't stick the "three-dot" menu on the screen!
I'm experiencing this also. Stock rom using sense.
I had this same issue last week. It turned out that an app I had briefly installed then removed (I forget the name of the app, but it was to help prolong the charge of the battery), had turned off auto-sync (settings>Accounts & sync>Auto-sync on/off).
Hope this helps!

Sounds logical, was the case on the 3d, though i'm not experiencing it since auto sync is on. Fresh 5.1.1
OK, after more testing it is definitely the Google Car Home app that is killing the Sense 4.0 Lock Screen Weather.
I can reproduce it and it does not occur if I don't run that App. I'm not sure what about that App breaks it, but it is not the "Auto Sync" toggle. All I have to do to fix it is to set the lock to something else and back to Weather and it works fine until I run Google Car Home again.
I'm going to try out "Car Dock Home v3" from "IG88 Apps" to see if that works any better with Sense.
OK, using "Car Dock Home v3" as the Car Dock launcher exhibits the same behavior.
I thought it might be a problem with some of the Apps that I normally run while in Car Mode. So I tried just using the dock and going into and out of Car Dock Mode and it still did the same thing.
Next thing to try is to go back to the Sense 4.0 "Automotive Home" as the default Car Mode launcher and see if THAT causes the same problem.
I can't believe that you can't put your own shortcuts on the stock Car Mode Launcher. The most common thing I do is listen to podcasts, and there is no way to start my App to listen to them! How does something like that get through the design phase?
One thing I haven't mentioned before: This only happens when I actually put the phone physically in the car dock. If I just load the Car Home app everything works fine.

mine is updating, but it is showing the wrong city..... I was in Orlando last week, and am now a thousand miles away or so and it still shows orlando, I thought I changed the city to my current one, but it still shows orlando on the lockscreen any idea what to do?
Mine is doing the same thing the weather will update but not the location. I only way I have been able to update it is to restart the phone. I would like to know if there is a fix for it too.
OK, I tested using the stock Sense 4.0 "Automotive Home" Car Dock App. Using this App does not break the Weather Lock Screen. (Well, that is good news at least...)
While testing it out I found ANOTHER annoyance with this App. If I hit the "Phone" button on my Bluetooth remote it brings up the App's dialer screen, not the voice dialer App! If I am working hands free, I want to voice dial! Of course there is no setting to change this...
For as much work as HTC put into this Car Dock App it is REALLY hard to tell that they had anyone actually USE it. Maybe they will update this app for better functionality... (lolz)
Anyone else use Nova Launcher? Seems the phone does not like to keep Nova Launcher as default after a reboot. (Haven't tried others)
Is it a launcher problem or a phone problem?
[edit] OK. Got a response from Nova. Apparently it's a Google/Samsung thing that needs to be worked out. But, trying to restart and keep setting Nova as Default at some point may stick.
Another issue I was having was not being able to press anything right after returning home. That's also a Google issue that can't be fixed on Nova or any other launcher's part.
I see the same thing on my T-Mo S21+. After I reboot the nova home screen comes up as expected but a default home application is gone in settings (none are checked). Using "Close All" takes me to the Samsung home screen instead of the Nova home screen. Setting the default home back to Nova seems to fix the problem (until the next reboot). Fortunately, I rarely reboot...
No idea why.
I had this start on my S20+ after One UI 3 update, I mentioned it on Reddit and someone said it was a known issue and would be fixed in January. Obviously not fixed yet as I too still have this problem, it seems intermitent though, hopefully they will fix it soon.
For what it's worth Nova (6.2.18) works fine for me. Have probably rebooted phone 10 or so times.
Had my S21 last monday, this problem happened during the first hours of use, and has completely disappeared from now on. (Nova 2021 here)
I'm an Action Launcher user, and I haven't had that issue with my device (S21+).

So probably a Nova issue. Guess will have to wait for an update.
as mentionned above, I don't have the issue anymore with Nova 2021...
What about this other issue? Upon going to home screen from any app. When you immediately press any other icon or do any gestures, nothing but a flash happens.
Upon further inspection. There are little marks on the both lower corners. They disappear after about a second. I think that's what's causing the screen flash. When they disappear, no flash.
Is that a Nova thing or One UI thing? I haven't deviated from how how use/setup the launcher last few years.

I use lawnchairway better than nova for my needs
I didn't have any issues with Nova on my S21 Ultra. I'm giving the stock One UI 3 launcher a try after using Nova for almost 10 years.

The little white marks is google assistant, if you swipe from the corner it will come up. But it's not the cause of the problem unfortunately. Try going to the app switcher first and then going home & pressing something quick. The screen flash doesn't happen on Niagara launcher for me, but the google assistant indicator still comes up. Wish there was a way to fix the screen flash though.
> Another issue I was having was not being able to press anything right after returning home.
This is a gestures + custom launcher issue, it's not solvable by the vendor (Samsung) or the launcher developer (Nova dev) unless Google does something about it.

This is no longer the case for me. My T-Mo S21+ (NYC) updated the firmware yesterday (AUAG), and Nova now remains the default home screen after reboots (and anything else).
fwiw
Nevermind. I just rebooted again, and the default home was no longer set to anything. After resetting it to Nova, it stuck, but whatever the problem is, it still exists. Sorry for the false hope.
