I've been a lurker of xda for a while, but I have a question that I haven't been able to resolve since googling for about two hours or so.
I have a Nexus 5 on stock 5.1, rooted.
I changed my bootanimation.zip, and in the second stage of booting, where normally the stock boot animation changes brightness, the screen goes black. How can I make it so that the bootanimation keeps going until my phone is ready to run, and it reaches the unlock screen?
This is my first post so please excuse me if I've done anything wrong.

Hi,
I was playin around with different Roms lately and I tried out Cloudy's Rom and it changed the inital startup screen. The one you see when you immediately start the phone. It has a Android and a Owl onscreen and you see it until the phone moves on. Normally for TmoUS owners its a Red and WHite screen thats stock and something about Stick together. My question is this how do I get rid of the owl and Android picture and go back to the stock startup screen or at the very least the Energy startup screen? I'm new here relatively so please be patient if I've posted this in the wrong area plz.

I've done my homework and searched for similar topics as these but so far none came close to my solution (correct me if otherwise). Recently I flashed to this ROM

from a stock ROM. Have done it a few times before and no problems have occurred. It's an MIUI rom and I decided to customize the theme a little. The themes section allows to change most of the detail ie fonts, status bar, home screen, lock screen, icons, boot animation.
And that's where it started, when I changed the boot animation, instead of using the default one. When I did a reboot after the switch, the usual boot logo was up, but then the screen turned pixelated like a CRT monitor/damaged LCD screen with colourful pixels. But then in boot into the new animation all fine, and has been ok since. The device boots fine, but I'm worried about that pixelated screen.
Is there anyway to fix this?

You said it's been okay since? I wouldn't worry about it then. If you can't reproduce it, its not an issue.

well the corrupted screen still appears, but im still able to use my phone.. just wanted to know if anyone found a work around this or encountered something similar.. care to share?
Okay people, I've got a very ****ty situation with my N7 Wifi. I have multirom installed with stock 4.2.2 and AOKP JB-MR1 build 6. It won't react when I try to boot, and when I can boot it will hang on the Google bootlogo most of the time, but when it doesn't, and I boot into AOKP, it gives me the bootanimation, but then I get some sort of grey screen with horizontal bars. At first I thought my GPU might be fried, but when I boot into stock, everything works, except it turns off right after it boots because of an empty battery, even when my battery is full.
The device also doesn't show up in adb for some reason, not even when it's in bootloader.
If anybody has some sort of solution, answer, tip, hint, potato, that'd be great.

i was tired of my Unrooted padfone 2, so i used this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2130276, worked and rebooted,
then i downloaded https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jrummy.font.installer
changed the font, to http://www.fonts2u.com/haxrcorp-4089-cyrillic-altgr-regular.font
then after 2-3 seconds my phone background started to resetting to the normal background, couldnt change the background so i turned the phone off, and then on, and now i can't boot the phone anymore, only showing "padfone 2" (aka loading screen) tried to do a factory reset, no effect :/

The battery broke.. while i tried to reboot by taking the battery off complety.. just ordered a new one, and i'll come back when i need help!

Yes sounds like you bricked your phone! The font installer app will do that when trying to change the system fonts to another type some fonts will work but others will not and you end up with an expensive paper weight! I'm not familiar with this model of phone but I'm afraid that you will have to send it in for service or purchase a new one! Sorry !
I'm running aokp jb on my phone. The other day I decided to change my boot animation so I used the tool in Settings to do so, then rebooted. However, after it got past the Samsung logo it was stuck on a black screen for about half a minute before the screen got brighter and the touch keys lit up, and it never boots into the OS. What's also strange is how I can feel the vibration of the pattern lock. I entered the pattern and heard the unlock sound. Is there any way that I could remove the boot animation and bring it back to the stock Aokp one, or do i need to reflash? Thanks.
Try wiping cache... !
