The app turns on the screen, force closes the apps, and then automatically closes the screen. In my case, it does not do the latter part.

With the shortcut yes it works but if you set home button longpress to hibernate apps and shut down the screen it turns on in about 1 sec. So there is a bug.

Does anyone know if there is a way to increase the native (4.4.2) camera time-out setting?
I'd like it so my camera app doesn't turn off until I manually close the app, or after ~10 minutes.
You can use the xposed module App Settings to force the screen to stay on when the Camera app is open, that should do the trick

Ya, I figured it was built-in ?. I was hoping someone out there might have figured out a way around that by now (the camera app has had that same auto close function since at least Jellybean).
I know there are probably ways to open the app (again) by voice, but then, of course, it reverts to default settings, which doesn't help me much if I changed a configuration ...
Bummer. ?

Its been on my "list" but not at the top. I don't encounter this to be an issue for myself, so it hasn't been priority plus I completely forget about it when I have free time. If I get around to it, I'll probably create an xposed module to disable it.

Is there any app, Xposed module, mod, etc to get the "double-tap to wake screen" feature like LG phones have?
I tried an app that woke the phone by waving in front of the proximity sensor, but that was a battery hog.
Would like to be able to wake phone without power button.
I'm running PAC ROM which does have double-tap to sleep.
Thanks for any suggestions!
2nd this.
This is typically dependent on the kernel. It also needs to have support by the hardware, otherwise there is massive battery drain. I'm 99% certain our phone does not have the proper hardware for it.
We have douple tap to sleep. But not wake.

You just echoed the OP .
What can be done to get wake on tap is my question.
You would have to start by removing tap to sleep.
Can't have both. Its doable but as said earlier it would cause drain issues.

Why can't we have both like LG?
I would prefer double-tap to wake, since I already have icons/apps that can put the phone to sleep like Green if click on an icon.
How does LG do this without battery drain problem I wonder?

Still doable. Not sure what all can be done to reduce drain. Its like Google now voice detection. Disabling that increases battery life as well. So it really boils down to what you are willing to sacrifice for a particular function addition.

Implementation with a disable switch solves that. User can decide turnoff if too much battery drain.
Yep. Would only make sense to be able to disable it. If I couldn't disable Google now voice I would delete it all together... Handy tool. But I enjoy my battery life way to much.

I use Greenify for a long time with donation package, beta tester also.
At the moment I'm using it on a non-rooted Samsung Note 5
I add most of the programs be "greenified" except a few important for me.
The BIG PROBLEM is that in most of the times when there is an ACTIVE CALL, Greenify strart "working" and I can not do aniting. The phone is "black" and I can not even close/finish the call, just waiting Greenify to "hibernate" a.k.a. "force stop" all apps.
Sometime with 5 to 10 "power button" presses I'm able to interupt "hibernation" and to close my call.
Please, add an option to DISSABLE hiberation during a CALL!!!
Somebody else having this problem?
Best regards to all developers!

Have you greenified anything related to phone calls? Can you post a screenshot of what all you have greenified? Do you also use Amplify?
This is not the normal behaviour unless you greenified or limited something which you ought not have.
Nothing related to Call or Phone or other system realated apps are in Greenify list (178 apps).
Normal behaviour of Greenify is to start hibertatiing apps when screen goes off.
(In root or boost (xposed) mode this operation is very fast, it closes many apps at once.)
But in NON-root mode it use standart automated [Force close] dialog or every app, so it takes a second or two per app to close it.
When I make (or receive) a call, I put the phone near to my ear, the proximity sensor turns off the display.
After a while, Greenify starts hibernation process.
There is no problem with the CALL itself, it is not interrupted or disturbed and qualiry is excellent.
The problem is when I take off my phone from my head, proximity sensor "realesed" and display have to goes on (rise) again but this NOT happens.
At this moment Greenify closes apps one by one and screen is OFF.
Call conversation remains active and I can NOT hang up (close) my call.
No reaction if I press [Home] or [Power] buttons.
By pressing many times (5+) [Power] button I'm able to interupt the Greenify hibernation process, display goes on and I see the force close app's dialog.
Now I use drop down menu and press (red earphone icon) to hang up (close) my active call.
That's why I think that settings option in Greenify for "temporary disable of hibernation" during an active call will be very useful especialy for "non-root mode" users.
Do you think it is worth to add such option?
@ChoSmile
When you are on a call, it will hold a wakelock so that the screen going off doesn't affect it. The proximity sensor senses your face near it and switches off the screen. When the phone is held away from the face, the proximity sensor should sense it and switch on the screen. This is the normal behavior.
Greenify starting to hibernate the apps should not affect the proximity sensor sensing. Check the functioning of your proximity sensor because no one else seems to have reported this problem, as far as I know.
I don't think that Greenify hibernates apps during a call ie. while the screen is off during a call. Atleast for me, it doesn't.

By any chance do you have aggressive doze enabled in greenify? I started having about the same issue, i would receive a call and screen would never wake up. I had done a lot of tweaks and wasn't sure what exactly what was causing this. So I did a fresh install and started a little bit at a time doing my tweaks and never got to install greenify yet. So far, phone has been working properly. So maybe this had something to do with aggressive doze or the fact that I had two apps setting aggressive doze, greenify and force doze.

Because on rooted devices, you probably use it "Root" or "Boost" working mode where hiberanating is "at once" for many apps.

But to investigate your issue, I ran it in non-root mode (phone is still rooted). Still my screen behaves normally.
I have the same issues exactly non root greenify kicks in during calls and everything goes south. Any solution to disable greenify during calls

Guys. Anyine found a solution here? This is a real issue for me. I am using non root and everytime a call starts, screen goes dark, greenify starts and doesn't capture the right screens probably but rather initiates clicks on the task bar on the top. This way I see the WiFi starting or Hotspot being disabled or data being turned off.
All I need is for greenify to not work during calls!

Seems to be a persistent, unresolved issue on some non-rooted devices with stock ROMs. You'll probably have to abandon Greenify.

Your ROMs built in battery stats may (likely will) provide clues to that type of drain. For a more comprehensive assessment try GSAM which is a available in the Play Store. BBS can also help but it's a little more difficult to interpret IMHO. Good luck.
I've noticed that no matter what setting I have it on, my tablet (M5 8.4) automatically lowers the screen brightness in Chrome and YouTube, but more noticeably in Chrome.
Any way to disable this?
Have you checked the setting menus?
Using Firefox might be a solution.
Also, Youtube in FF has background playback as long as you are using a desktop user agent.

I've checked every possible setting, and read online everywhere, but to no avail. It also dims in Firefox. It dims as soon as you go into the app. After an online search, I found many Huawei owners with EMUI 8.0 having this issue. There is one solution, but it requires root and I don't want to root my device after having it for a few hours.
Funny. Would love a solution as well as this is rather annoying
Do you guys have auto brightness turned on or off?
I never really experienced this issue, but I did observe strange brightness behavior before I began to keep auto brightness permanently enabled.
Doing a quick search, I saw one person say to turn auto brightness on, I saw one person say to make sure animations aren't disabled in dev options, some say unclick 'increase readability in sunlight' in dev options. I personally wonder if the stock launcher (which I don't use) maybe is set to override the brightness level.

Well, I went through with it and rooted it. I tried the fix, and... it worked! After you're rooted, simply freeze the system process (I used Titanium Backup) called PowerGenius, reboot and no more forced-auto brightness dimming.

Just disable "power genius" this has worked for me. without root. No More auto dimming.
Disabling Power Genius will also get rid of issues involving bluetooth music playback, and will prevent apps like Google Maps from getting killed off semi-aggressively in the background (i.e. so when you map out driving directions you won't have to reenter the address as you get close to your destination).
Quick note: you have to reboot after disabling Power Genius. Merely disabling it won't immediately change anything.
Up until now I thought a reboot would bring the "wonderful" feature back ...
How comes that you mention a reboot is needed?
How do you disable it? I can only do a force stop
I'm not sure how to disable it without root (I imagine adb might work). With root, most use Titanium Backup to freeze it. I'm using Service Disabler to disable the associated services instead. Service Disabler is awesome if you are rooted, underrated app and great for EMUI because, for example, you can disable individual parts of the Tablet Manager app without breaking the features you want.
You might not need to reboot. When I initially froze it using Xposed Edge Pro, but didn't reboot, it didn't change anything for me. Could have been due to Xposed Edge Pro.

Just Tasker, the 1st and yes, it's changing from 4g to 2g when your screen is off, and viceversa. I tryied to apply with an action called "device idle" but is more strict than the normal Deep sleep, so it's not working a lot. Now we should check if our battery increases slightly or not, because I don't know if changing between 2g-4g is wasting baterry too.

Yes! Just configure the monitoring files. Tasker reminds you each X to do it. You have to allow tasker to be completely full on background. If it doesn't work, just uninstall and reinstall Tasker and allow everything again (Powermaster autostart, not closing apps, no battery optimization, etc.). It worked for me when I had probs in the past
