Driver Issues - Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact Q&A, Help & Troubleshooti

Guys hoping someone can help me here. Been trying for the life of me to update to Lollipop but PC Companion can't connect to my tablet. It continually fails... When looking in device manager i see a driver missing for the tablet (SGP611), however i can't get the driver to install for the life of me. I"ve tried pointing to the z3 tablet compact driver sony provides on their developer site, and also tried to get pc companion to install them on 3 different occasions (Uninstall, reboot, and resinstall companion sw). Also if i turn on USB Debugging MTP missing driver appears.
Running windows 7 Pro 64-bit
Thanks

Help! Can't root (Step3)

Hi everyone, I have an X10a and managed to get upto step 3 without any drama. Once I try to do step 3 however, it says that the device wasn't found. USB debugging is enabled and everytime I plug the phone in, the windows device manager thing comes up and tells me my phone is an X10i. Then it says there is an error and the new hardware might not function correctly.
I have the latest Pc companion and everything. Any ideas?
Phew never mind.Just needed to let windows do it's thing
Can you elaborate how did you overcome device not found problem in Step 3?
I have the same problem and tried with re installation of PC Companion, SEUPS and doesn't work.
After Step 2 both of my computers can't install proper drivers for the phone even though the SE PC Companion and SEUPS detects device.
For some weird reason Windows detects my phone SO-10B (or X10) as X10i in Device Manager and don't know why. I tried to install manually drivers through Device Manager but it wouldn't let me. I tried Step 3 procedure on 2 Windows 7 computers 32bit and 64bit.
I rebooted, I changed USB ports.
It just doesn't detects it
Help, please. I'm quiet desparate
Install PC Companion then it will work its got some needed drivers
If the device manager pops up and asks you what to do, let it install drivers. Just let it search automatically and as thor said, you need pc companion.
EDIT: What I did exactly was go into control pannel -> Printers and other hardware -> add hardware -> yes I have already connected the hardware. Then let it search for updates. It took a few minutes for me until it managed to find the drivers. I'm on 32bit XP by the way.
Guys I already wrote that I already reinstalled PC Companion and SEUPS.
I do have PC Companion installed and even updated to the newest version.
The device is now detected and installed correctly.
The only problem that Step 3.cmd still can't detected it on both of my computers (win 7 32 and win 7 64).
I even started the whole process from the beginning and I'm again stucked at step no.3
Here is screenshot.

Some other advices?
-USB Debuggining is enabled
-USB Storage is enabled (I tried with disabled)
-Both computers and phone were restarted between tries multiple times.
What should I do?
Mod. edit: There is a sticky for this kind of rooting related issues. Pls use that instead of opening new threads. CLOSED.

[Q] Problem when connecting to PC

Xperia S is certainly one of the best phones i have had. Nevertheless nothing is perfect as i have currently quite a big problem with it.
When i try to connect to PC through USB PC Companion do not recognize the phone and suggests rebooting the phone, which does not help.
When i try to connect through Wi-Fi it also does not work - after several tries - uninstalling and installing my PC as a trusted device it connected a few days ago, but now the connection does not work at all.
What is more - after any attempt to connect through USB i noticed that several apps which i moved to SD have been corrupted - only installing them again from Google Play helps.
Anyone had a similar problem, or know how to deal with it?
My FW is 6.0.A.3.73
My PC Companion ver is 2.10.053

Hi,
Check if you have enabled scanners and camera. If so then disable them and then connect the phone PC companion will recognize it. It worked for me. Let me know if it not works.

Acer A700 USB problem

Hello. I've got A700 and I'm trying to root it but I've got a problem. I tried it with every key combination (power, volume up & down) I found on the internet but they don't work.
I also tried it when using the USB port but my PC and my laptop won't recognise the tablet. I've downloaded the drivers from Acer but when I install them my PC asks to install NET frameworks 2.0.5727. This version is no longer available but Frameworks 3 also worked according to Microsoft. After this installation the drivers from Acer still don't want to install. Then I tried it with Android USB driver but the same problem keeps coming back.
When I plug the tablet on my PC and look in the windows device manager there is a yellow triangle on the USB port with an error code 43. I've got the same problem and errors on my laptop. They both work on Windows 8.1. Could it be that the problem is on my tablet's USB? There is no problem when charging.
Does anyone have a similar problem or maybe a solution?
I have this problem too for my Acer a700. When I connect the tablet, i can't see the folders on the tablet via the pc anymore. I can't put files on it, and I can't transfer files from the tablet to the pc.
I contacted Acer and they said that windows 8.1 uses a new way to deal with usb drivers.
I will translate (google translate) from dutch to english
Dear customer,
*
Unfortunately, Windows 8.1 handles the USB drivers differently than Windows 7/8. So there are specific drivers for Windows 8.1 required that we can not supply at this time.
We have made a request to check whether these drivers are still going to be mad.e At this moment we can not specify the period within which we as a reaction to get going.
Until then you might try to work with the following generic driver: http://www.droid-now.com/2013/10/fix-working-fastboot-drivers-windows-8-1-x64/
Note that they are not specifically designed for the Acer tablet and we can not provide support for the things that are discussed there.
Following the instructions is at your own risk.
*
As soon as we have more information about the Windows 8.1 driver, we will inform you about it.
*
Hoping this provides you with sufficient information and we apologize for the inconvenience
Any update. I have same problem running window 10.

adb driver for 6833 flashed with GPe Rom now showing as 6806_GPe

After successfully flashing my Xperia Z Ultra 6833 with the GPe rom, it is working really well.
But, I can't seem to get any driver to be accepted for ADB.
In device manager, under Other Devices, I see a device called 6806_GPe and MTP with no driver installed. (yellow triangle)
I've downloaded drivers from Sony for all types of Z Ultra (but when I go to update driver and try to use them I am simply told that "windows cannot find a driver for your device". I've also tried to install drivers using the Flashtool driver utility, but still no good.
I need to use ADB to correct an issue but am stuck, can some tell me where to get the correct driver please?
Im using Win8.1 64-bit.
Edit: i was messing around and got it to install sg0109 driver but it still shows the mtp missing driver
Download the GPe drivers from the GPe ROM thread, on one of the last pages, there is also another solution there
ADB Drivers Win8.1 x64
Using linux but if memory serves me right just completely uninstall ALL USB Drivers and re mount xperia and let it (win) auto re assign and address the drivers also look for USBDeview should still be on one of the z and general sections of most android threads here or google for it

Any tips installing MTS driver on Windows XP?

Using an Oukitel C5 Pro.
I have two Windows XP SP3 systems. One installed ok but cannot get the other to install.
When I connect the phone, XP displays C5_PRO under Portable devices but with yellow exclamation because no driver. When I try to install driver it renames it to MTP device but says "An error occurred during the installation of this device. The specified service does not exist as an installed service."
Made sure debugging mode is on and USB debugging off. Tried rebooting etc.
The machine that works has "C5_PRO" listed.
Would help if I knew exactly which driver I should be installing?? (Have downloaded several different things but not sure exactly what I want and nothing has worked so far) Does the name suggest an Oukitel driver or a generic driver? Have tried installing the Porting Kit too but that made no difference.
