How to root LG L9 II (D605) on 4.4.2? - LG Optimus L3 II, L5 II, L7 II, L9 II

Hello,
I have been searching forum for the information, but most of it looks to be outdated.
Is there any way to to root my LG L9 II (D605) with 4.4.2 Android version? How can I install CWM afterwards?

Mine is 20d, towelroot displays error message that my phone is not supported. I don't know what to do, all .kdz links are not working to downgrade it.

Well towelroot (the futex.c) exploit got patched at most kernels and systems built after 3rd of June or July ( I can't remember the date exactly). Go on: http://lg-phone-firmware.com/
If they are not working from there send me your IMEI (on private of course; will remain private and will not be used in any bad scoper ofc) and then version you would like. Peace out.

[Q] Rooting WM8850 Android 4.0 Tablet

I've got a cheap Chinese tablet (WM8850-MID) running Android 4.0.3 based on WonderMedia 8850 processor.
It's not rooted.
Here's what i found:
/system/xbin/su is present:
-rwsr-xr-x 1 0 0 68528 May 14 11:07 su
But I can't run su in a terminal:
su uid 10064 not allowed to su
Using adb.exe I have the same problem with uid 2000.
There is a script /system/etc/init.sh which is called a boot time, but If I modify and push it via adb it won't execute (lost execute permission)
adb reboot-bootloader does reboot the device, but it does not stay in bootloader mode and just go straight to Android.
I'm not sure where to go from here. Is there a way to root that device ?
Try ./adb root to run as root.
Use oneclickroot.

I forgot to mention "adb root" says I'm already root.
If I copy files with adb push, the owner is root, but If I use "adb shell" I'm user uid 2000.
This is a new tablet, but I'll give oneclick a try anyway. Thanks.
I've just tried SuperOneClick 2.3.1.0. It says it's already rooted because it can find /system/xbin/su, but I continued anyway. It can copy busybox (temp) but cannot change the permissions and it stops there.
Try resetting your tablet and if the su binary is stil there remove it. After resetting retry with superoneclick.

Thanks, but how do I delete it since I don't have the permissions? In case it's possible, is it safe to remove the su binary? I have no way to recover my firmware...
Use ./adb root to remove it because you will be root. After removing it reset your tablet to factory settings. It is safe because the su binary is not part of the os.
Then try rooting with oneclickroot.
Hope it works for you.
i also bought wm8850 tablet in china..can you teach me how to root in detailed its my first android device....i dont understand the other terms u are using....
Hi jallaine12gil,
I think that you should first try to root with oneclickroot. Post if it worked or not. Oneclickroot is a rooting program for android devices.
download the firmware. then find the android4.0.tgz file open it with 7zip, add the su file to system/bin folder and system/xbin manually.... then put the superuser.apk in the system/app folder then save changes.... then flash firmware from sdcard

There is a dev on the android forums working on the bootlocker and the kernel issues with reinstalling factory after recovery is rebooted.
I rooted my phone motochopper and I can't find any Roms for it. I get into ROM manager and I can't get any farther because my phone model isn't listed..what can I do?? I feel like I'm missing out because I can't get custom UI and all that. HELP PLEASE!

Ok so i am now rooted thanks to myself only got out dated answers this worked for me with my LG ls-720v7 (4.1.2 - jb)
First step download. SManager from market
Then get towleroot.apk link below
towelroot com/tr.apk
Then install the apk find it in your download directory but first make sure you allow unknown sources in settings_security after thats installed run it download su and busybox from market and then use root checker to see if you are now rooted.
O cant figure out how to swap internal with ext. Try this it also worked for me. Download Uni-init v1.0.apk from the market install it run it Click on Activate and allow with super user Click on Verify to make sure init.d is enabled Reboot your device Download any Root Browser you like from the play store or use smanager if you still have it Download 11extsd2internalsd from below
www mediafire com/view/8pwu65zzd10ow5z/11extsd2internalsd
copy it to your sd card Open Root Browser and copy 11extsd2internalsd and paste it /system/etc/init.d folder Hold click 11extsd2internalsd and set permissions and make sure everything is checked as far as Read, Write, and Execute. Open smanager and allow with root access Go to /system/etc/init.d and click on 11extsd2internalsd Click at the top where it has Su (lil android head) and Boot icons and hit save and then exit Reboot your device and your all done!

Since this information was buried in the other thread I am posting it here for visibility:
This will work only on CWM flashable zip stock (because you need CWM to flash the zip, obviously):
- Flash this first:

- Then flash this:

Now, people are wondering if it's possible to root from OTA/kdz update (like we originally rooted stock JB). In theory it should be. Basically what I did with this root fix is I've added one line to one of init scripts (which all run with root permissions). This line is starting the install-recovery.sh script (which is provided with SuperSU zip package). With KK it's not enough to just drop su binary to /system/xbin - you also have to start daemon (as root). Whatever rooting method you are trying to use has to add a line to one of startup scripts which starts the SuperSU script. If one such method is found please post here, I will also update the OP.

When I did it the first time, I tried to install SuperSU 2.0 from the Market. He did not want to upgrade properly. Finally I got a soft-broken phone and repaired it by kdz firmware flasher. I'm not sure that the reason of soft-brick was SuperSU, but without it root works fine.

Instructions:
You must have adb.
1 Extract the zip on PC
2 Connect your phone to a PC with USB debugging enabled
3 Open the folder and press "shift" and the right mouse button
4 Select "Open command window here"
Follow the commands now:1 adb push aboot.img / data / local / tmp
2 adb shell
3 su
4 dd if = / data / local / tmp / aboot.img of = / dev / block / platform / msm_sdcc.1 / by-name / aboot
5 exit
6 exit
7 adb push loki_flash / data / local / tmp
8 adb push recovery.img / data / local / tmp
9 adb shell
10 su
11 cd / data / local / tmp
12 chmod 777 loki_flash
13 ./loki_flash recovery recovery.img
14 reboot recovery
After your phone will reboot in cwm mode. When i did it rebooted automatically with an error:HW reset was detected.Dont worry just press the turn on button for 20 sec and the phone will reboot without giving that error again.
Big thanks to szymel00 a user of a polish android forum.
The link for the zip: (http://d-h.st/2kk)
Tested without any virus.
I didn't have to flash anything
I used the app KingRoot(not in appstore). It just rooted and it was just done. Later that day it rooted jelly bean version as well.
PS! You have to allow unknown sources when running apk-s from outside play store.

[Q] How to root cheap tablet (Diva QC-703GN)

Hello guys,
i've ended in here from another thread which is locked LINK
As the OP of the thread, i've tried several 1-CLICK root apps (both Android and PC) with no luck (Mine is also as gift from mobile carrier).
I have screenshot of "Version" sub-menu, from something called "Factory mode" also i can access the tablet via fastboot and adb (see attached pictures)
Any suggestions?
No one?
I root it using http://www.kingroot.net for PC. Enable. Developers option, then adb USB whatever it was... And should work.

Well... Kingroot worked yesterday. Idk is because i've downloaded latest version or that i've added it as device administrator (also disabled built-in app permission manager).
Now how to replace kingroot with super su? I tried both Super-sume and mrw v2.4 with no luck.
First flash TWRP with the TWRP manager then install root browser goto /system/app delete kinguser restart your phone goto recovery and flash the supersu update

Well...it isn't supported. Is there generic recovery that can be used on various devices based on...idk, chipset?
fyi
I've managed to do it. idk exactly how.
Tried again this mrw (v.2.4) in the root of the sdcard. i'm not running *.sh files from terminal emulator, but via root explorer's script executor.
This time i've mounted /system RW before starting the procedure (found this tip in a lenovo a5000 tutorial that i saved in the past. It can be done via terminal emulator or with app like root essentials).
This time looked like the script hanged, king root has stopped several times and finally "executing script" popup disappeared.
However tried to install SuperSU manual (because script failed)
Then SuperSU returned that kingroot is still present in the system and can try to uninstall it (last time this did unroot the tablet), but with /system mounted RW i decided to give it a try.
Well, now i have fully functional SuperSU and root.

Replacing kingo superuser to supersu

I was new for rooting and choose the easiest way to root(kingoroot not kingroot) my samsung galaxy j1 ace...
and now i want to switch to supersu from kingo superuser...

can u suggest me something easy???... like with terminal....
Revert to stock rom and try the manual rooting using SuperSU. You'll need a compatible custom recovery to install supersu.

Have you reverted to stock rom? You can just do a factory reset (root access should be removed too). Install the necessary drivers. Download a custom recovery for your device (TWRP maybe, search it here in the forum). Download the supersu flashable zip (this is an older version, just update after install). Also download the latest ADB drivers (awesome app). Then you root:
(1) Copy the supersu zip to your device storage. Copy/move the custom recovery to the root folder of your ADB.
(2) Open ADB:
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
wait for the device to go into fastboot, then:
Code:
fastboot boot "recovery.img"
(3) Navigate the new custom recovery and select "Install" and select the supersu zip file, then reboot.
(4) Check root access.
Goodluck
