Hello XDA Guys..
I bought an Android phone, it's specs are huge but I do not know it's model. I removed the battery to see the model name and number but it shows only DF808, and on the about phone settings, it shows simillar DF808.. I searched it on google and found noting.
So how do I root this phone? I tried the recovery mode, it has similarity with the Galaxy Y recovery mode, but update.zip for Galaxy Y wont work on my phone.. Is there any other way to root my anroid phone? THanks BTW

the website is in Korean but you will be able to download the firmware by clicking on the link that reads HOME_E120blah.blah.blah.low_ship.tar (810.8Mb), which takes you to another page with big ass blue button. Click on that blue button to start downloading the file
THis download link is only available till 27th Dec 2011. So be quick.

I think they are a couple of roms you can download.
Just google 'HOME_E120S' and you should be able to d/l stock roms.
Again, google translate is your best friend if you land on a chinese/korean site.

Try Tegrak kernel. A recovery lagfix kernel that includes rooting your e120s.
MTP to UMS Issue
Hi,
I'm using Galaxy S2 HD LTE (SHV-E120S).I changed USB Mass storage mode to MTP Mode by using SKT Hidden Menu option, now the problem is like i'm not able to switch back to USB Mass Storage Mode and Kies is not detecting my phone. :crying:
I tried to connect as UMS from Settings -> More Settings -> USB Utilities -> Connect Storage to PC but not working, connecting as MTP
I'm on Official 4.1.2 Jelly Bean,my OS is Windows XP (SP3).Please help me out.. Any advice would be appreciated..Thanks in Advance

I just got a gt HDC gt- N7102 is a 6577 mtk dual core puts the system is a JB 4.1.9, the thing is that I can not root it, I was sending the Chinese program and the steps but nothing, the phone restarts even twice while doing the step but after rootea not, the problem is that I have the google play all in Chinese and many Chinese applications, need someone to help me! Thank you very much! , sorry for my english!

The problem by Chinese Clone Handy´s is that the firmware is not compatible to European Firmware.
If you pitch, you must create your own Root-File.
A Member in a other Forum had the same Problem, the european Stock/ Custom Files are not compatible with
his HDC Clone Device and many infomation about his Devices is faked.
Do yourself a favor and buy an orginal Samsung Note Device and then you root your phone and flash
Custom-Roms without any Problems.

I think the Root files for your Device (XDA_ Root File for Note?) is NOT compatible with your Android System!
The Chinese Clone Devices have other chips installed as the Orginal Note:
Edit: The Files that you find in xda Threads are NOT compitable with your system, cause the hardware is different!
Don´t install any files on your phone, cause the chinese import clone devices are NOT compatible with any xda file.
Try a search by google, maybe you find in some chinese threads Root Files,
but i would you advise against it.
Buy an Orginal Samsung Devices and enjoy the Orginal Android Software
And you have NO Problems witth Root and here on XDA are some very nice Custom-Roms

Most likely i have the English ROM to your phone, but i'm not sure that my is for HDC. I have GT-N7102 on MTK6577 with android 4.1.9 in English, probably my manufacturer is STAR. I can provide You ROM if we will 100% sure that is for Your phone.
Otherwise, it is better not to use it may cause brick the phone.

You can google the model and I am sure there are some tutorial teaches you how to do that.
So guys i rooted my phone today, a samsung galaxy s3 i747 running 4.1.1 and it rooted successfully. then i got rom manager and downloaded the paranoid android rom. i loaded the .zip file in rom manager and pressed ok and it rebooted. but then it got stuck on the boot screen with the paranoid android guy and i can't fix it or even boot up my phone. my computer doesn't recognize it either. i'm following directions from a site which i cant post cause i'm new (its called "android 4.1.1 jelly bean update for samsung galaxy s3 i747: how to install it" on the site ibtimes dot com) and will try to make it work that way and i'll let you know how it goes but if it doesn't work can anyone offer help?
i'm new to this so please explain in depth if possible

Good day! I am new here as a member but has been reading your tutorials about rooting phones before. In fact, I already rooted my Samsung Galaxy Note II and also my cousin's since the tutorials for those models are commonly available here. The problem is, I got this phone Samsung Galaxy Grand SHV E270K from my aunt in Korea. I searched everywhere already but hasn't found any useful info about this phone because maybe this is not so common. I found this one result on google search but I cannot post the link since I'm new user ) but the problem is , I couldn't understand what they are saying but only the title that says Stock Firmware Rooted, I tried using google translate but didn't help. I don't wanna flash that rom without being sure if it works since I don't have any backup stock in here. When you search "[Stock Firmware Rooted] Samsung Galaxy Grand SHV-E270K (Jelly Bean 4.1.2)" on google, it will show that as first result (as of now). I really need to root my phone since the samsung site says it's LTE capabled but it has no LTE options on settings. I read on some that it's because my LTE sim is not widely known (Globe Telecom) and is not recognized by phone as an LTE sim. Since my android version is 4.1.2 . the 4g switchers thingies on google play don't work at all. Thank you sooo much once again!! Waiting for sooner response from anyone.

Hi! Good day and thanks for replying to my post. I guess they still don't have those required files for this device until now since this device is not quite common unlike the S series. I'm still hoping they will have those in the future. I'm actually thinking to flash the rom of other similar models xD but I don't think it will work.
Hello im new to the forum and first i would like to thank you in advance for any help you can provide me because i lost all hope with my phone . and i would like to inform you im new to android world so bear with me guys .
i have a 5830i which came with a chinese stock firmware "s5830izclf1" Android : 2.3.6 ,and i have so many performance issues with this ROM :slow phone ,bugs : like the screen wont shutdown after making a phonecall...etc and i decided to root my phone so i can install a fresh new one , the problem is i cant root it each time i try to install the .Zip file i get the "e:signature verification failed error ..." i read somewhere that you need CWM to bypass the signature protection but how can i do it if the phone is not rooted ? i search for alternative method on the forum and i found that we can use Odin to root the phone (Not sure !) , but the phone wont go to download mode i tryed every single combination , and the battery remove methode with no luck all i get is the factory Mode screen /Recovery mode . i think i lost all hope with this phone.

Make sure yours is the 'i' version of the handset, follow all of the instructions carefully, and you should be good to go....
