I followed all the steps, but the phone screen flashes recovery loading then shows lg boot logo with secure boot failure at the top left corner. What should i do now?

While you might be able to root ZV8, you can't install recovery from the OTA.
Flashtool back to zv4, root it, then install recovery. All of this is on zv4. Then you can flash Roms.

Darn, i kinda like how the ZV8 update is, plus i love the way CM is as well since the GS3 always had it installed. Does GPS work now with CM12 for the g3? Theres times where i need it and it never works. Ends up not locking my location.

[Q]Please help with Stock Recovery

All:
I have attempted to flash TWRP via various methods to no avail. I have somehow messed something up so I cannot get the stock recovery to work. I can get into the stock recovery screen, but if I select anything, it says Secure boot error. I am currently on OTA 5.0.1 VS98523C. Any advice on how to proceed? I have looked at KDZ options, but am wondering if I can just get the stock recovery back and let it ride until TWRP is available.
Thanks in advance,
Steven
I'm having trouble with getting TWRP to flash successfully. Using their app and flashify

In theory, you can use the dd comment to put the aboot back, but I would not recommend it as I got my phone hard bricked that way. (so dead that even KDZ does not work)The safest way is KDZ back to 10b, and then stump root. Then:
1. Install TWRP manager from Google Play.
2. From TWRP manager you can choose your phone model and download and install TWRP recovery.
3. Follow the instruction from this link to use TWRP to install the 23c

Never do OTA if you have rooted your phone. It needs to be completely stock for OTA to work.
/\ What he said.
Twrp doesn't work after lollipop because of the signing requirements in the bootloader.
It needs to be rolled back to 10-12b and then rooted and then you can load twrp. Once you have twrp you can load jasmine or skydragon which are both 5.01.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-lg-g3/general/guide-flash-to-stock-10b-kdz-method-t2928140
Thanks! So if I want to use xposed, I should roll back to the other versions of lollipop?
thanks all. I KDZ'd 12b stock rom, rooted, then flashed TWRP through flashify. I then went into recovery and installed the 23c rom. I used skydragon 4.0.0 because I tried to flash Jasmine 7.0 like 8 times. I did not have any of the bottom keys and I could not access my pulldown menu. I could not figure out why this was happening. Skydragon worked for me perfectly. Thanks All.

Help: security error

I have one LG g3 Ls990 model with Android 5.0.1 and ZVA firmware.
I rooted phone with LG script method without any issue. Rooting successful.
After this I installed twrp with Ls990 autorec lolipop apk.
Then I switch off phone and booted in twrp and made backup of my efs and present stock rom.
But when I again booted phone , it show lg logo and screen written with "Security Error" and then switch off.
Still I am able to boot in twrp and download mode but not able to boot in rom.
Kindly guide me to resolve this issue.
Thanks in advance.

I don't know if this will help, but it SHOULDN'T hurt either.

Try flashing it. It's skin1980 sharpening mod, and it bumps the kernel.
Maybe it'll work.

I am in the same place (Security Error) and arrived there via the same steps. I think the only difference is that I am on ZVB firmware.
The firmware difference may explain (or maybe not) why I can boot into TWRP but NOT into download mode.
I'm thinking that if I have TWRP access I should be able to dig myself out of this hole, but not sure how to proceed. I'm guessing that doing a factory reset is not going to fix this, but if that were to return me to stock, that would be great. But I don't want to attempt that without getting some experienced feedback.
If a reset is a no-go, what are my flashing options?
Thanks for any suggestions!
Update & Additional Info: When I'm in TWRP, if I select Reboot and then Bootloader, the Firmware Update screen appears.

Stuck on TWRP recovery:(

I came from cm13 and i suddenly think of returning back to stock lollipop. After a few days, I realize cm13 is a lot better. I downgraded back to kitkat and unlocked the bootloader the way I did before. Before, it was successful. But now, when I flash TWRP and reboot to recovery using flashify, it shows security boot error. I upgraded to stock lollipop and tried it unlocking bootloader there. I flashed TWRP but when I entered TWRP, I cannot reboot back to system. I cannot get out of recovery!! Pleasee help... I want to get cm13 back

Replace TWRP with stock recovery to install OTA

Today I've flashed the recovery with TWRP to install SuperSU.
Is there any possibility of installing the stock recovery to be able to install Android updates normally again without losing all data and SuperSU?
You sir, are not alone with this question. Been eagerly looking for an answer for the same question..

I can't find anything for the G5, only for other phones.
The only option I currently know of is to flash the whole KDZ and then install TWRP and SuperSU again. Is there another way?
As long as the system is modified in any way, the only way to install ota updated is through LGUP because before applying the update there is a system integrity check ran and if that fails you will most likely get into bootlops or worst
Here is what I did to get a 10D rooted system
Thank you @gwolfu.

TWRP for Nougat?

Is there any information for installing TWRP for H901 Nougat 7 ?
I can't find anything...
I had to use Bridge update to fix my phone, now I'm looking for TWRP...
If you're on MM, get TWRP and do this:

If I were on MM I would not be asking this question..
This is the only way. No other option currently.
First are you rooted?
Second have you tried the ADB install of TWRP? That's the way I did it when I first got my phone.

There is no root for Nougat, I would have to have a recovery first to install a root if I remember right.
My boot loader is unlocked but I have not tried to install TWRP because I would like to know if there are any issues with putting TWRP with Nougat first.
I know how to do all this, I would like to know if anyone has already done it?

I wouldn't think there would be as I'm running TWRP. Since your bootloader is unlocked i think that is the hardest part, can you fastboot install it? I have upgraded from MM to N with a stripped Stock zip. I'd try it, worst case you just use LG bridge and are back to step 1.

Last I read, it's not a problem if you had TWRP with MM and upgraded to N.
not so sure if you took an OTA to N.
I get this error when trying to install TWRP;
"remote unknown command"
I found this on the web; lg has locked the fastboot commands. Until we have root you can't flash recovery.
Well sh***********************...:crying:
