I'm not holding my breath for root. It'd be nice but to be honest, this is the first time I've felt good with a stock phone.

When you root a phone does it also automatically unlock the bootloader?

now i feel like a dumdum lol, Iv never done the one click root method so i was thinking it was just root not bootloader unlocker cause of the photon having to do each one separately. well they always say you learn something new every day right lol.

dont sweat it, if you look its in android q&a, not photon. since i happened to make the nexus s 4g one click root i knew the answer

Read the thread I have posted how to do it. It works for some and others it don't. I however seem to nail it every time. It is not to far from the end of the thread. Maybe a page or two after where john released the last update to you guys.

I realize there is a lot of posts about this, but everyone I try, does not work because my phone has the latest update? I was wondering if there has been a new release and i just cant find it about how to Root the DNA?

You can not root your phone short of sending it to a guy to open it up and jtag it.

Well I realize that, but when I get bored with a phone, I ROOT it normally.
Someone needs to PM a mod and have the unlock and root threads removed...

Agreed. It clearly states in both the s-off and unlock threads that it's not for 2.xx. And people are still getting their hands on 1.xx version DNAs, so the info is still valid and needed.

I agree completely, send it off and have it JTAG'd. Turn around time is real quick. Having an unlocked phone is that important to me too so before I buy a phone I do my research and know exactly what I'm getting into. You got lucky with the DNA though because of it having the ability to be unlocked via JTAG. I definitely recommend proceeding it's an amazing phone.
The reason that you're getting a hard time is because a quick google search, site search, or reading through one of the many threads you mentioned seeing would have answered your question. It's nothing personal, and the good thing is that people are quite forgiving around here.

Just download lg pc tool and plug your phone in. It'll download a 1.5 gb update and install it for you. No root or bricking. It'll be like an official one but through the computer but it might wipe ur apps Not sure so make backups If you use this way.
