Hey guys,
To start off I know this is MY fault, as I was trying the FFC MOD on my Vibrant.. I didn't go through with it, (just as far as taking off the paint with the Goo-Gone), I did not apply the FFC nor do I have one available, but when taking pictures and videos with my default Vibrant camera, It looks UBER-blurry especially around the edges. Obviously I messed it up, may have been the Goo-Gone slip into the camera itself, idk.
I have no insurance on my phone
My phone ALSO does NOT vibrate for some weird reason... I remember it almost never used to.. When I first bought it I did but months after i never really paid attention to so I really don't know what the cause of that would or could be.
ANY FIX's?

Make sure that your camera lense has nothing in it, no gook no left over garbage and make sure you clean that area really well. Also try reflashing your firmware, and also post in the main thread for FFC, you'll get better help there.

I've tried
But I will repost in the FFC thread. Thank you though.
I recently posted that my friend and I have the same phone with the same carrier, the same firmware (2.3.4) etc. I asked why his camera was better, and never got a answer which solved it. I now think this was my folley as it appears that it is actually his screen which is better.
We bluetoothed some pictures we both had aken ourselves to see if it was in fact the camera and although it is not as big a difference when we take pictures on each device his pictures (the same pictures) look slightly beter.
Any ideas why this may be, if i got a botched phone or something? there is a couple of slight scrathes over my camera if tht could make the difference but i doubt it since it's more the fact my pictures are blurry.
Thanks in advance, Harry

Did you check the screen settings? There's one besides 'Brightness'. The screen can be set to something, Dynamic, or something else. This could be it... have a look around and make sure you're on the same settings.
FWIW I read your first post a week or 2 ago, and didn't answer cause it sounds like a really strange problem...and without both phones in my hand I couldn't begin to speculate. I doubt that you got a sub-par phone. Try making photos without holding the device, set it on a level surface. The blur could be from your hand shaking very very slightly, and maybe your buddy has steadier hands than you do. Really, no way to tell without having the phones in front of me. Sorry if this doesn't help. Keep us posted on your findings and good luck!
I saw that some i9100 got a different Camara Firmware possibly he got a better Firmware...
if thats not right someone can still blame me

I know it's hard without seeing both, we're struggling with both. I have a more recent camera firmware i think as i updated through samsung apps not long ago. I'm not entirely sure about the shake but we have done a lot of photos and we almost always had him take both pictues. Also we both use 'standard' screen mode (we checked).
check to make sure that the camera lense is clean as well, often a smudgy/dirty lense will make bad photos.
I'm actually having the same problem (and have been having it for months). I only noticed it when I was a concert late last year and I was recording on my phone and watching other people's SGS2s record. Theirs was obviously much clearer and did not distort like my camera/footage did (when lights would flash, mines would blur, 'blob' together lights that were close to one another etc. while theirs captured it with clarity). Then I started to notice that when I zoom in, my camera gets extremely blurry, too. I started comparing to a few other people and, yes, on the same settings my camera is much worse. I've tried resetting the camera settings which has proved to do nothing for it.
I was starting to think I was crazy but I've finally found someone else with the same/a similar problem (was extremely hard to Google).
I also updated my firmware via Samsung Apps. It seems to be great in natural light but otherwise, it's really quite poor.
Camera firmware is TBEF04.
Any ideas?
guys it would be better if we can attach our sample pictures. i had similar problem. this is mine.
So it happened this morning when my alarm went off and it vibrated. I heard a plastic part vibrating also. The sharp loud noise was disgusting. I shut off my alarm thikning it was my cheap SGP case.
Later today I played around trying to find out if the silicone had a hole or something where the plastic frame was touching the SGS2 phone itself. Nope. I took the whole case off. Each time it vibrates it sounds like... ahh what the hell. I will film it for you guys now.

WTF is that? I took the cover off. I took the SIM card out on another occasion too. It sounds like something on the upper left. If I push my finger down on the panel, it stops. If you notice the few seconds it is sitting on the table flat, it's fine. Just a little weight seems to calm it down. Not sure if its the vibrating motor itself because it is vibrating properly. Sounds like something is loose inside though...
Anyone experienced this before? Should I go for RMA?
Second part of the question:
Obviously being an XDA-er I'm rooted. I will flash back to stock and unroot. I bought this off of Expansys-USA so I should get *some* reasonable attempt by them to send it back. What are the chances that my warranty gets denied? I don't have a USB jig to reset the counter, but I'll of course get rid of the yellow triangle.
*grrrr... I need to dig up my Nexus S now if I have to go through warranty... I'm guessing I'll be phoneless for weeks*
I don't know if it would invalidate the warrenty or not (technically rooting/custom roms is supposed to), but when I had a problem with my stereo jack not working rather than risking it I just replaced the part myself.
The vibration motor, stereo jack and earphone speaker are all on the same part.
(I got it from this guy on ebay for about $7 if you're curious.)

I see. I'm not sure whats broken really. When I shake my SGS2 I hear something rattling inside. I'm just afraid to open the thing up... is it difficult?
Just watched your video. It sort of sounds as if somehow the vibration motor came loose from its proper spot and is now moving around vibrating against the plastic. Its normally held in with some adhesive (basically double sided tape) within a cutout area.
When I had mine apart I actually took a photo, http://i.imgur.com/fgN9F.jpg, if that makes it any more clear.
I actually recorded the process of me reinstalling the new part (excluding the disassembly, there are lots of clips of that from other people on youtube) but havent gotten around to uploading it yet since my internet connection sucks and the file is nearly 2GB.
Edit to add:
No it wasn't really all that difficult to dissassemble, it was actually pretty easy. That said I enjoy taking things apart and trying to fix them. This was the first time I've dissassembled anything as small as a cell phone, but I'm used to taking things apart and trying to fix them when they break. If you don't have any experience taking apart electronics you might want to think twice or just pay someone who fix's cell phones to do it.
If you're thinking about it, heres a video where someone shows taking it apart to get a rough idea of whats involved.

I decided to try and upload the video I took, once it finishes (in about 2.5 hours) it should be viewable here:

thank you for your detailed writeup. im going to try this. ive taken apart my macbook pro to install an SSD before, and a few other electronics, but i'm not the very best (i feel clumsy sometimes), but i'm willing to give this a shot.
The only thing I'm worried about is that I could potentially mess up the phone in other ways in disassembly such that my warranty won't be honored if I need to resort to that... We'll see tonight. It looks like you used two screwdrivers? Which ones will I need? I have a #000 that I see will be needed for the back plate at least...
k. opened my phone up.
i just took the screws out and the backplate. i pushd around to make sure things are tight, and they seem to be.
put it together and the vibrate thing happens VERY rarely now..
I shook my phone around and still heard something shaking (please tell me if this happens).
I opened up my phone and the camera module seems to be loose. Is it supposed to be glued down?
Just to let you know, you say you don't have a USB jig so your Flash counter may make your warranty void, but, if you flash to an ice cream sandwich ROM (Cyanogenmod 9) you can install an app called 'Triangle Away' which will basically get rid of the Flash count and yellow triangle - it needs root by the way. (search it up on XDA, it's by chainfire')
Then you can flash stock and send in for warranty.

I don't remember it being glued down. Its been a few month since I fixed mine but if I recall correctly it just fit snugly in place between some plastic fitted walls.
This is the camera module you mean right?
Edit: I also don't hear anything shaking with mine, did you mabe leave a screw loose inside?

Yeah. Camera module. That's the one. The main 8MP shooter. It's not glued down or anything. It shakes around inside. I definitely did not leave a screw inside because I only opened the back panel and I put all the screws back in.
It's weird because something making noise while shaking the phone has been documented here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1254520
And I noticed that when you activate camera it goes away. Quite strange but as an engineer this makes me wonder HOW that even happens? Shrug.
I'm waiting for my Samsung Focus S phone to come from the Windows Phone challenge and I'm contemplating using that for a month while my i9100 goes out for warranty. Of course I can always use my Nexus S as a backup, but part of me wants to force myself on a new platform for a month and see how that goes... Hahahaha.

Hey Random6, did you happen to find that after replacing the vibrator motor with a new one, the intensity is now less than when new? I used double sided tape, but with 1.5mm, I guess the motor won't vibrate AT ALL.
Also I found that if I don't screw the one that seems to be closest to the vibrator motor all the way in, it obviously vibrates harder, but not hard enough.
I also used two very thin copper plates to sandwich the motor between the plastic plates, but once again, that was too much and the vibrations were not transfered to the phone's body, but I could hear it doing its job.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!
I just got my lumia 920 in black last night and i love the phone no complaints...today just around 30 min ago i noticed while taking it out and putting the phone in my pocket and putting it up to my ear to talk it feels like something is loose inside. Like if you shake the phone something is moving around in the phone and it feels heavy. Nothing is wrong with the phone otherwise everything works. Called att they said they will swap but has anyone else had this issue?
Ok so i just read another thread about the lumia 920 rattles. Mine rattles if i shake it without any vibration going on. Should I take it back to att or is the phone fine and meant to be like this?
Your probably hearing/referring to the floating sensor. Mine does the same thing, but I can JUST barely hear the rattle shaking it. If you hear a lot of movement shaking the phone I would take it back.

You dont really hear it. Its just when i shake the phone theirs a little play almost like a little vibration but not exactly.
It's the "floating" sensor.
*Oops wrong thread. My apologies.
So my phone is ok then? It is suppose to shake a little inside when i shake the phone? feels like a metal plate is moving around slightly in my phone.
Go to any phone dealership that has it in stock, and ask if they have any idea if its supposed to be like that or not. If they have a model there for display, just check if its similiar or not.
Id do that as a first step before sending the phone away for X weeks in order to get a replacement.
edit: Unless of course you can go right to the store you got it from and get a replacement right then and there, then Id just go do that.
It's the floating camera lens. It's perfectly normal.
Mine rattles also.
Ok i went to att and they swapped it right out...they had 2 of the phones as models and it did not rattle when you shook it. Also one of the workers had it as well and shook his and said he didnt feel anything. The guy said this is the first time he seen someone come in and do an exchange for this reason. But he as well shook my device and said its not suppose to be like that.
Nice to see it worked itself out .

Well then there's a lot of phones out there thats 'defective' because I hear a slight shaking inside my phone. Once again. Perfectly normal due to the floating sensor.
Got my phone yesterday in the mail and it does the same thing. Everything seems to be working fine though.

I've tried it on the test units at the AT&T store and one of my friends has the white version and it all has the slight rattling.
If you're recording a video and you take the phone violently, you can hear it through the replay.
Let me start by saying that i bought this phone only 3 days ago and these are the problems I've found with it.
1. The Second screen back light issue. This is a common problem among many lg v10 users as i have noticed, and i have that same problem too. to the extreme left of the second display it is brighter than the rest but only when it is off. I do not find this very annoying since i do not use the second display for reading my notifications while it is off. i mostly use it when the screen is on
2. In addition to that, the power button/ fingerprint scanner combo is completely garbage, as in the actual clicking. the button seems loose and when i click it, it squeaks. Also, when i run my finger up and down the power button it wobbles and has the same annoying squeak.
3. The charging port is loose. Not so much that the cable could slide out not in that axis, but it moves side to side freely and up and down. this worries me because i think that if i put too much pressure on the cable the port could break somehow.
4. The steel bezels are nice and stuff but the gaps, are uneven at the bottom left, the metal bezel is like bent and you can easily see through it. also at the back when you pop in the cover it seems like it doesn't align with the bezel. but that might just be my ocd lol
This phone in my opinion is great the best phone I've had. but its just that these things are what let me down. This phone is great but they absolutely ruined it with the quality control. note* my batch is from January 15, 2016
U probably just got a bad one. Sometimes, they make it thru the quality control somehow. I would return it until u get the one ur satisfied with.

Yeah I think I should but I'll wait until the weekend and decide if I should change it.
Probably a good idea. The flaws won't change. I have the lightbleed on the 2nd screen, but I never notice unless it's absolutely pitch black where I am and the screen is off. It doesn't annoy me tho.

I like the phone, maybe I love it. I have the same problem with the residual light on the left of second screen. (phone batch 26 Oct.2015) But, what I dislike the most:
1. The lack of a LED on the front.
2. The second screen, about my opinion is useless until then a developer create an xposed apk for a flashing light on second screen when I loose a call.
3. The fingerprint sensor is useless too for me.
4. Volume of the speaker is not too loud.
But, I like the size and the shape of the phone. It is a catch eyes everywhere I go. Benchmarks are very good for a Snapdragon 808. The screen is very fluid. And the most, the camera and his software are great; you believe or not I compared in photoshop pictures from an expensive Sony semiprofessional DSLR camera with photos made with my V10 and the overall quality are quite the same. It's the best phone I ever had (and I had a lot of top level androids)
I don't want to change it, even on a G5!
H961 dual SIM, rooted, debloated.
The light bleed is a common issue, but everything else sounds like your phone was assembled incorrectly, you should exchange it
Okay so today I was wondering if I could find any more nit picky problems and noticed that the back cover did not sit flush with the buttons and that if I pushed it down it became flushnot a big issue but it bugs me when I'm turning up the volume or turning on the phone

Well I exchanged a week ago and now that the time limit to return it is over, it cracked, not from a drop. It just cracked by itself there is a small hair line crack right by the metal rail and if is so annoying I paid good money and I take care of my phones well even if this was made to be tough. It cracked while I was in the car waiting for someone and then out of no where I heard a little pop and I thought nothing about it but after I finished watching the video I noticed it and got so scared I was like"did I drop it" but I did not idk how it managed to break I haven't dropped my phone yet and it just cracked out of nowhere
