Hi everyone,
The idea is to set custom ROM on my Coolpad F1 device. I followed the guide from: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2785891
Steps done:
HOW TO ROOT IT :
flash Coolpad-F1-root (wcdma).zip with stock recovery
RECOVERY (i prefer cwm)
1.put the recovery.img in root of sdcard
2.download mobileungle tools open it hit recovery update and flash the first recovery
As next step I copied the custom rom zip (AOSP_V4_KK_laek.17_with_v3_kernel.zip) in the SD card root directory and wanted to reboot into recovery mode to install the new rom.
The phone just reboots normally after I reboot it using the power&volume+ combination, meaning: I can't access the recovery mode screen no more.
Also tried accessing the recovery mode with some other software (QuickBoot -> reboot in recovery mode). The result is the same - the phone just normally reboots.
How to handle this?
Thanks in advance.
anyone?
Got it working. Just flashed another recovery, custom TWRP by martinoff (modaco forum). Installed the new ROM without problems.

My story:
1. I flashed my device with custom twrp recovery image before and was working normal.
2. Rooted the phone with supersu using that recovery image.
3. Flashed custom ROM to replace android 6.0 with 7.1, worked but got problem with file manger in custom ROM
4. Flashed new recovery image for android 7.1 as mentioned in the thread.
5. Again flashed same custom ROM but device start booting to new twrp recovery instead of regular ROM boot
6. Tried to flash old recovery image in order to fix the no. 5 problem.
In fact I accidentally flashed wrong recovery image which was for another Motorola device.
I cannot access recovery now, neither I can charge my phone.
Whenever I plug USB cable in my phone, Lenovo logo shows up and disappear, just stuck in boot loop
My phone Information:
Model: Lenovo A7010a48
Any Idea to access fastboot?
Did I just missed my phone?
Hello everyone,
I have a redmi note 4X with MTK soc
The bootloader is unlocked.
I want to flash TWRP recovery. I use adb, the "nickel " TWRP, and message in the cmd window was "ok"
but when i reboot, whatever the way (buttons or adb reboot), it still reboot on the stock recovery.
I've tryed many times, even with a "moly" TWRP (with my MI 4S, the "aqua" didn't work and I had to flash the "libra" one and it was all effective)
Tryed to re install adb, etc. Wathever, it's always "ok" in adb but still reboot on the stock recovery.
Can't try with flashtool or that kind of (Mitool Flash atc) because I can't find the right "scatter" files....
Does anyone have a clue? what is blocking?
Thanks for help
You must reboot back to recovery, not to system, after installing TWRP.
1. Install TWRP
2. Reboot to Recovery (not to system) - this means you will see TWRP screen again
3. Now you can reboot to System
This is only done for the first time installing TWRP. Next time, TWRP will always be there.
Hello,
Well please I need new help !!
Now I'm fighting a new issu !! Now that I at last managed to flash TWRP, and enter in this custom recovery, my phone don't boot system anymore !! stay stuck on the MI logo (
Do I need to flash the boot.img ? But why the hell would a recovery flashing would have change the boot partition??
And if so, where please could I find the boot.img for MIUI 10.1 stable?
Hello,
For those who have the same issu.
I've flashed a boot.img file found in unzipped miui rom zip.
- download from xiaomi.eu the right rom
- unzip
- find the boot.img file
- flash it with adb / fastboot
Well, So now I have my phone and datas back, and can boot on a custom recovery; but TWRP don't work well. Doesn"t keep the settings, can't install anything (it doesn't find any file when exploring ) and can't wipe cache (as if it can't read partition). That's all I tryed by now, I despair a little and that's a lot of time for an easy thing (was very easy on other phones)
Well, this time I'm flooded, i' ll take somme time but don't give up trying to root that phone
Start again, and I recommend ZCX-TWRP-3.0.2-X-REDMI_NOTE4-MTK_Nikel-16.11.18.img and Magisk instead of SuperSU

Hi, today I was more than seven hours on PCr and tried this....unsuccessfully... I'm really desperate
I have:
-Xperia Z2 (D6503)
-Android 6.0.1
-newest firmware 23.5.A.1.291
-UNlocked bootloader
I am trying to install root, twrp recovery and custom ROM ( specifically this ROM ). But i cannot enter to the recovery mode...
Official twrp-3.0.2-0 succesfully flashed in fastboot but when i try command "fastboot reboot recovery" the mobile only load android and turns on normally... the combination hardware buttons also do not work.
The next question is, What is a kernel ? I have successfully installed this kernel .... Could this be the reason why I can't load the recover mode?
Please help me, I don't know what to do anymore :crying: all I want is root and custom rom
EDIT: okay, i successfully root phone and finally i have access to recovery mode (TWRP 3.0.2-0) by THIS TUTORIAL now i need help with installing the custom ROM step-by-step because if I turn something wrong and phone will be bricked again, I guess I'll kill myself xD so What is next step for install custom ROM please ? Can I just download THIS, install the zip in TWRP and that´s all ???

Click to collapse
before you do this you should backup all your important data
1-wipe data factory reset
2- wipe cache
3- install zip rom
4- download google apps and install it by recovery it should be a zip file
5-repot system and enjoy
the recovery is like twrp or cwm it's not a kernel
there is 2 type of kernel :
1-kernel itself
2-kernel with merged recovery
about the kernel and recovery, there is deference the kernel is very important for system to work it connects between the hardware and the software and every operating system has its own kernel but here in android they sometimes merge kernel with recovery but when you flash-kernel or recovery every one replace each other be careful and know that, don't worry you won't brick something in the near future when you will install custom ROMs you will notice that.
if you need any help you can ask me
i have a problem while flashing Android 7.12 ROMs for HTC Desire 620g (stock 4.4.2). My problem started with recovery flashing issues. Fastboot mode for this particular model doesn't support recovery flashing. I've dig up other way of flashing recovery - via MTK Droid Tools and MTK SP Flash Tool. It worked like a charm.
Then I started with ROM flashing - I couldn't flash any of 7.12 ROMs I've found for this model (XOSP, LineageOS, ResurrectionOS, ViperOS). All of them crashes with this same error :
Code:
ApplyParsedPerms : lsetfilecon of /system/lost+found to u:object_r:system_set_metadata_recursive: some changes failed
I've made some digging, and found out that this error is due to incompatibility recovery with android 7.12. I've also found the information that update CWM to newer version would resolve this issue. Although, due to recovery being flashed via MTK SP Flash Tool, I'm now stuck on CWM 5.5.0.4. I can't update it via Rom manager - CWM is not event detected by app, and thus I can't update it via APP. I can't replace it with fastboot (due to fastboot not supporting flashing recovery), and I can't install TWRP via app TWRP - installation bricked recovery mode, so I had to restore it from original files through SP Flash Tool.
So now is the main question - does anybody know how to update CWM or install TWRP via SP Flash Tool? Is there any way to replace default CWM used by MTK Droid Tool, so I can generate the recovery image for SP Flash Tool with newer CWM or TWRP?
Or maybe there's other way to replace recovery or make it working in fastboot? I've read that the main cause with flashing recovery is not doing it in download mode. But I CANT run FASTBOOT in download mode with VOL DOWN + POWER sequence, because it runs chineese test menu and not FASTBOOT. The only way I can run fastboot is "reboot to fastboot" via adb, and this one doesn't work with flashing recovery.
Also tried to flash recovery via Mobileuncle Tools app. Still nothing. Every recovery image I've found doesn't work. Only one that works (and I've found on this forum) is 5.5.0.4 (the same MTK Droid Root & Tools generates). I've also tried to search recovery in original thread on 4pda forum, but all recovery images posted there are already deleted.
Or maybe if anyone have the same model with alredy flashed newer CWM recovery and could share it, I would be greatly appriciated.
I facing some problem to boot one of my old android Mi4i Photo.
According to someone told me if the device unlocked then not need to boot system just install TWRP from Fastboot mode and boot TWRP by volume up + power key will see all your files in TWRP just connect pc and copy ?
Question 1
I would like to know is there any Risk for me if i installed TWRP ?
Question 2
After install TWRP , do i still able to flash the ROM back to normal ?
Thank you
Answering your Question 1:
You can either flash TWRP or boot into TWRP. Flashing TWRP harbours risks, whereas booting into TWRP does not: if you boot into TWRP ( what is a temporay session of recovery ) then after rebooting Android device its Stock Recovery gets restored.
