Hello everyone, recently my friend wants to update his S3 android from 4.1.2 to 4.4, but however the OTA software update shows that the newest update has been installed
How can he get an update of android of his S3? His phone information are as below , please ignore the Chinese characters
Btw he wants to try UPSM on his phone, does he need to root his phone
Please help me
No 4.4 update was released for i9300. The last firmware is 4.3 (you can find HERE).
If he really wants 4.4 or above... yeah he needs root. The most similar ROM for i9300 version 4.4 is the back-to-n00t by arter97.
Cheers.

Thanks a lot
do I need to install a universal offical ROM to let him update from 4.1 to 4.3 via OTA?
No, if 4.1 is official just download and flash via Odin the 4.3.

CyanogenMod 11 ROM working on S5839i?
Hi!
I'm a bit unexperienced, and not sure about the differences among the S583xx models.
I have a S5839i which is still running Android Gingerbread 2.3, however quite badly (e.g. some calls do not show up).
So I'd like to update it to Android Kitkat 4.4.
For the S5380 I found the following manual:
http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/update-gala...nstall-1430916
However, I am not sure if the CyanogenMod 11 is compatible with my model.
On the release note http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2587481 , it is stated:
So no idea, if this includes my model (is the S5839I as sub-model of S5830I?)
If so, is there any other way to update my phone to Android Kitkat 4.4? If not, is an update to Android 4.3, Jelly Bean possible?
Thx a lot!

unfortunately there are no upgrades for this model , if your looking for better performance & more storage , get yourself a new device
Hello to all, this is my first post and thread, I hope everyone is ok.
Well just yesterday I updated my samsung s3 to a kitkat 4.4, it is a custom version and I do not like it and decided to downgrade it to a 4.1.2, but I have tried several times and I cannot do it
I have used, odin 3.07 and 3.09, lastest version of twrp and cwm recovery and nothing, the twrp log file is attached.
I will appreciate some help, I can only install the 4.4 kitkat but I want to go back to any version, I have 4.1.2, 4.2.2 and 4.3 and none of them work.

I have a rooted Panasonic T11 with Android 4.1.2. Please help me upgrade to Kitkat 4.4.4. Thank you.

i haven't show this phone
but if you have cwm recovery available in the phone than flash the kitkat rom package using recovery
Where will i find Kitkat ROM package? And how to install this package?
It simply is not possible on many devices, but if you are lucky, your device may be supported by CyanogenMod, or some other custom ROM. If it is, you can get custom recovery and install the custom ROM which will bring the latest versions of Android to the table. I would look on your device forums for any information first.
Checking for an OTA the old fashioned way (Settings > About Device > System Updates) might also work if your device is well supported by the manufacturer and/or carrier.

Hello,
My S5 recently was updated to 4.4.4, is there a way to roll back to 4.4.2? The phone is not rooted.
All you need is odin and your version of choice. Easy to find in development section.

i have a galaxy s2 plus i9105p based on android 4.1.2. i tried OTA updates but could find.
now i wanted to root it and install CM 12.1 on it.
i rooted it with firmware 4.1.2 via KINGROOT and install CWM non touch recovery on it.
now problem is in order to install CM 12.1 you must have stock 4.2.2 firmware.
please tell me how i update it to 4.2.2 now or any other method that i can install CM 12.1 on it
