Kindle Fire 2 CM 11-XXX USB OTG

Hi guys I am new here and new to this whole rooting, custom ROM thing. This all started from a need of an android device to run an app for a motorcycle efi tuner. It connects through a USB cable and allows me to change some tuning parameters in the module. I have never owned an android device, but I did own a Kindle Fire 2. After doing some research I stumbled across tutorials on how to install CM and make it an android device....and that where I am at now.
I have successfully rooted and installed CM 11-20160815-NIGHTLY-otter2, android 4.4.4, Kernal version 3.0.72+
Now the problem I am facing is the use of the usb cable to link the tablet and module. I have a USB OTG cable and after some research it looked like I needed a powered cable, so I made one of those too. I have installed Stickmount, USB OTG helper and USB OTG Checker. Running the checker I see that my device has the USB OTG API.
The interesting part now is when I connect the powered cable to the module and Kindle it will open the app automatically but it says not connected. The weird part is that it detects it enough to open up the app. Also I have not been able to mount through stickmount.
I am not a developer and not familiar with a lot of the lingo so at this point I am stuck. I don't know what else to try its over my head at this point. A google search turns up very little on this, although I have seen youtube movies of it working so I guess its possible.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Anybody have any ideas? I don't have enough post to put this in the kindle forums is it possible for someone to move it there?

Activate USB Tethering on OP2 from PC over CMD/ADB or anything what works

Hello to everybody!
Is there any solution out there to activate/deactivate usb tethering on the Smartphone (Oneplus2) from PC over ADB or somthing else? (USB Debugging is active)
My problem is that i use it as VR over Trinus VR and i don`t want to put it allways out from my NOON VR Googles to change the settings.
VR works perfectly for my use but the settings (pulling out, pulling in) are killing the fun.
If someone could help me please?!

Force Remix OS to detect phone's USB connection?

Hey guys,
I installed the latest Remix onto a separate partition so I can dual-boot on my Windows 7 machine.
It seems to work fine, I guess. Detects my cheap little USB wifi adapter, at least. But it will not detect my Android phone when connected to PC via USB. Now I'm sure this is due to lack of Android-to-Android wired interface, and someone will probably recommend an OTG cable, but honestly, is there any way of forcing Remix OS to detect USB connection from an Android phone?

Looking for OTG support on Android devices?

I own two Android devices which I need help with setting up OTG access to USB thumb-drives and SD Card Readers. I don’t understand why this isn’t a standard feature on all Android devices? Do I need to have both devices rooted? Is there a setting or an app for accessing data files on a thumbdrive?
Samsung Galaxy Tab: SM-T280, OS 5.1.1
BLU Phone: Vivo XL4, OS 8.1.0
USB OTG is a hardware feature, has nothing to do with Android OS itself. If your Android phone’s retail box has the USB OTG logo, it supports USB OTG. Many Samsung models support USB OTG.
Whether an Android device supports USB OTG or not you check with Easy OTG Checker app.
If device supports USB OTG but this feature isn't enabled by default and
a) it's rooted then you can install an app like USB OTG Helper to access the USB device.
b) it isn't rooted then you can use Es file explorer to enable it:
1. Connect the USB OTG cable with the device attached you want to connect to Android .
2. Insert the OTG cable in Charging port .
3. Now Open Es file explorer .
4. You will get a notification asking ” Enable USB OTG support “
