This is a simple Xposed module to help you get rid of ads on the official YouTube App.
Requirements:
- Xposed Framwork
How to Install:
- Install Xposed Installer and framework
- Install YouTube AdAway App
- Enable the module on Xposed installer (ex, LSXposed)
- Reboot
Notes:
- Reboot is a MUST after updating the module.
- This application is NOT a modified YouTube App
Bugs Report:
- If you still get an IN-VIDEO ad, please report an issue here with your xposed logs.
Download.
Mirror.
I dont have any issues while using Vanced and SC, along with Magisk too. lol
It was last week. I used the root method.
I got banned from Snapchat 2 days after installing Lucky Patcher & Youtube Vanced. I went to Lucky Patcher and " reinstalled " Snapchat as it was supposed to delete android patches related to Snapchat.
2 days later I got banned once again. I have uninstalled Lucky Patcher and Youtube Vanced, since then no ban from Snapchat (for 1 week)
I think I will try one more time with only Youtube Vanced installed to see what happens but I fear I will definitively banned
Other people have experienced the same issue.

Don't use the root method. I never have. Best practice for security in general is to only provide root for apps that truly need it. It's considered bad security design to achieve something with root that could also be achieved without root, hence YouTube Vanced providing a non-root version. Just make sure magisk hide is enabled while you're at it

Perfect, absolutely without error
Is it possible to disable this app in Xposed, or is it self-enabling?
Thanks

I'm on the same Rom + Xposed beta with no issues, just make sure the module is enabled, clear YouTube App data. and and reboot.
This application was tested against the latest YouTube update (5.3.24) and it's been downloaded more than 1500 in the last 10 hours with no such reports! if you are using any other version upload it.
EDIT: YouTube AdAway V1.1 posted.
The new update V1.1 requires Xposed framework 2.3+ (API 31+), because it includes some check helpers to detect Xposed installation status.
I am getting ads.. I am on Temasek (cm10.2)
Edit :after updating YouTube nw its working..

I don't think Google will appreciate it on the PlayStore.
Works like a charm on a 2013 gnex7. For some reason youtube had fcs until I rebooted again. Fixed now.

So since you said that this module requires that we be on Xposed Framework 2.3+ (API 31+), I'm gonna assume that this also includes people that are running the new Xposed Framework BETA...? I know for a fact that I haven't installed the BETA yet, but I'm not too sure how I can check and see which Xposed Framework "API" I'm running. When I open up Xposed, I can click on "About" and under "Version of this app:" it shows "2.3.1". How can I check and see which Xposed Framework API I'm running?
Thanks! :good:

I'm running the beta2 of Xposed Installer too.
You can check the API version on the framework tab of Xposed installer.
Anyway you will get a notification on the Xposed installer modules list if you are running a lower API level, and you won't be able to activate it, also my App should let you know if the module is not enabled.

Thanks for the key info! I took a lil break from fiddling with my phone, but I just now went and messed around a little bit with YouTube and I haven't seen one single embedded "In-Video" ad ! So far, so good!! Thanks man!!! Oh yea, one quick question..how's this module gonna be affected when Google spits out another update to the YouTube app? Is it possible for an update to the YouTube app to "break the functionality" of this module, or do we not really have much to worry about when taking any YouTube updates? Thanks in advance for the info! :good:

My g3 is rooted and I have xposed installer installed. Does anyone know if wanam exposed is compatible with the g3? I have activated some features in it but when I reboot, those features don't work. Thanks for the feedback.

No, Wanam is specifically for Samsung Devices. The closest equivalent for our G3s is G3TweaksBox:

HI
Is Greenify thoroughly tested with latest Lollipop ROMs? Namely CM12 5.0.2.
I use more Xposed app to improve phone performance including Greenify but instead the phone becomes slowish to laggy. This list ranks Greenify as incompatible:
http://android.wonderhowto.com/inspiration/complete-list-lollipop-compatible-xposed-modules-0160380/
These modules I have currently active:
- 3C Toolbox
- Greenify
- Amplify (formerly Unbounce)
- Lollipop Memory Leak Fix
- Lucky Patcher Xposed settings
- BubbleUPNP
- Xposed Additions
- Gesture Control
+ Xposed Framework 3.0 Alpha 2
Never try on CM12 5.0.2 but I try on CM12.1 5.1 and get bootloop.
Greenify should work on Android 5.0.x. I'm aware of the bootloop on Android 5.1.x and going to investigate the issue when I get my hands on a 5.1.x device.

Hello, I have android 5.1 and have the Greenify working in a SG-GT-8730. and I do not have xposed installed, for if it serves them.
After some hard trial and error, I failed to make Greenify compatible with the current super alpha version (20150501) of the unofficial Xposed build. Seems like an issue in the framework itself (which is reported to the developer)
At present, I have to disable the Xposed module of Greenify on Android 5.1 until I can verify it works with the later improved build of Xposed framework, to save your time from a bootloop.
thx for letting us know ? keep us posted ?

anyone willing to build up this post on what modules do work on the g3 without putting the phone into a boot loop? yesterday i got xposed alpha 3 installed and had the g3 tweakbox. tried to install a couple other modules that i had on my nexus 4 (kitkat) and that put my device in a boot loop.
here are the list i got:
gmail app attachment size
playstore changelog
wa/wa+ theme
xgpm
xinstaller
youtube background playback
on the nexus, when i installed xposed framework, i got a file that i could flash from twrp in case phone got into a boot loop (it disables the modules or the whole framework i think) but didn't get that on lollipop. anyone knows of a way to get rid of a boot loop other than a factory reset? (had to do that yesterday so asking for future reference).
is it a trial and error to find out if a module will boot loop the phone on lollipop? or is there some other method?

Yes in twrp you can go into file manager and under apps delete the xposed app that is causing the bootloop wipe the caches and you should be good
Working Lollipop modules:
For the sake of good camera, I'm using stock based CloudyRom. So the results are for stock based ROMS. Will be updating the post after future tests
Working:
Obviously G3 Tweakbox
GravityBox (I have it for the volume button cursor control)
AppSettings (Surpisingly it works great. Just dong go below 540 for stock LG apps)
ChromePie
Greenify

Not for now... To install Xposed Framework you have to delete/freeze Quickcircle... But, in beggining weather apk was also necessary to freeze... Not anymore. There are some mods to use xposed and weather. Probably, some day, circle case will also be available with xposed

Can you elaborate on that? Earlier i got into a bootloop and had to factory reset phone and i lost the backup xposed made for weather and the clock thingie. A guy sent me the apks that the app created for him. Weather and clock, etc. You think it would be safe to just install the weather ones from within the phone(not flash from recovery) and make them system apps to have it working again? If not, can you advise please? Thanks

Sup guys! I was finally able to find time to convert my previous patch for EPM to an Xposed module! This was not as simple as I expected, as it required dynamic XML generation/integration, which can be cumbersome to say the least. I tried to keep the code as generic as possible to support other models of the A2017, but there are no guarantees beyond the US model. I did add a configurable option to add a bootloader button, but as of this posting (B32), ZTE has disabled this functionality.
FAQ:
1. Can you add support for my model?
- Possibly, but at the minimum you would need to post your framework-zte-res.apk. Specifically, the files layout/global_dialog.xml and layout-land/global_dialog.xml are needed.
2. Does this support MiFavor 5.x?
- I cannot say, it's only been tested on A2017U B32, which uses MiFavor 4.x.
Thanks to wanam for the simple settings popup and apsun for the RemotePreferences library.

very cool that you did a "port", have my thanks - even when I'm not running stock most of the time

Only tested on B32 thus far, which runs MiFavor 4.2.
Works on Sl!m M!Favor 5.0 / 7.1.1 v 2.0. (A2017G).

Yes but the Xposed Installer app has a toggle switch to temporarily disable Xposed. So whenever you need to use an app such as Android Pay just disable Xposed and and then re-enable it when you're done.

Not worth it if i have to reboot my phone when I want to play games that require safetynet and use banking every time oh well, can't have all the pleasures in the world, but it would be nice to have this as a magisk module.
The thing is, I don't believe it's possible since you need to replace a small part of a file, not the whole file. I don't know how the Xposed module works (or Xposed itself) but I believe it somehow replaces that small part. If there was a Magisk module you wouldn't be able to further modify the framework and it would only work for one mifavor version.
I think this was already discussed but about a flashable zip version
Edit: Yeah, the dev talks about dynamic XML generation/integration

This is correct. I went with Xposed for better compatibility across multiple h/w & s/w versions. ROM authors can likely cook it into their framework using the tutorial from the other thread :good:
Ah bummer. I was hoping to use this module but I'm running v87 Xposed (PurifyOS). EPM requires v88.x. I'm only on unofficial Xposed because Unicon works with it.
If I decide I don't need Unicon I'll definitely update and use EPM.
At the moment I'm using one of the many reboot menu utilities to popup on double press of the back button (using Button Mapper).

I can confirm that this works on stock A2017G B09 with flashable Xposed. may also work with topjohnwu's Xposed but I couldn't manage to make the modded xposed installer find the xposed installation
The ROM is stock B09, from raystef66's flashable zips
Here's a screenshot where you can barely see the model below
So basically you can add that it's compatible with G-B09 somewhere

Works on MF5.0 too (either SuperSu or Magisk). Only if you use the flashable xposed framework v88.2 SDK25 + xposed installer + your apk.
Thnx ! (does not work through Magisk module installing the framework. Installer error framework not installed)
works on B35
Works on B09 Nougat on A2017G, although it does not play nice when messing with screen dpi. I am currently on 500 and icons are misaligned.
