[Q] Bricked my Razr XT910 running CM 11. - Motorola Droid RAZR

Hello all,
I need your help to unbrick my Droid Razr xt910, Initially I flashed my phone with "SPDREM_U_01.6.7.2-180_SPU-19-TA-11.6_SIGNEuropeAustraliaEMEA_USASPDRICSRTGB_HWp2b_Service1FF_fastboot.xml" which is EU ICS and applied the JB OTA "Blur_Version.672.180.41.XT910.Retail.en.EU" and everything was good atleast for an year, Since my bootloader is locked, I installed Safestrap 3.x and created additional ROM slot to try Cyanogenmod 11 and it worked perfectly as well. The problem started when i wanted to try CM 12, since it required Safestrap 3.75, i wanted to upgrade it, but my bad, unfortunately I installed it on the ROM slot and my phone crashed and cannot boot the phone normally or into Recovery mode, everything is screwed and i have been struggling for days to unbrick my phone, but no luck so far, Could some one please point me the right approach to unbrick my phone?
When i tried to flash the boot image from the Stock ICS package i have, i get the below error.
D:\temp\Android\Europe ICS\extract> eprj-mfastboot.exe flash boot boot.img
sending 'boot' (8192 KB)... OKAY [ 1.020s]
writing 'boot'... INFOPreflash validation failure
FAILED (remote: )
Please help me on this.

Common Guys, Please help me..

You can't flash ICS anymore because you upgraded to JB.
Download JB Sbf file for your region and flash it with RSD Lite.
Here is everything that you need

Thanks a lot for your reply, appreciate it.
Would you please tell me the exact name of the sbf file i need to use in this situation? My phone was the PSH Asia Retail version running ICS earlier and I followed an xda thread to install the European version of ICS and applied JB OTA , I already messed up enough and dont want to do any further mistake. Also, while i was searching, the name name doesn't exactly mean anything to me. Please help!!
Thanks

[Q] Really confused about getting LATAM ICS...

I came from the Galaxy S forums where all these ROMs and updates were given to you on a silver platter instructions and all
I'm using a GSM Canadian Droid RAZR purchased from Fido, running on the Virgin Mobile network. (Yeah, its complicated.)
System Version:
651.167.3331.XT910.Fido.en.CA
Android Version
2.3.6
I've been waiting all this time for the Verizon update, but only realized a week ago that Verizon is CDMA, and theres no chance I'll get it on my Fido branded RAZR.
What do I need to do? I downloaded the LATAM 2.3.6 GB as well as the 4.04 ICS. I have RSD Lite but no idea how to use it. My device is complete vanilla. Do I have to root/install CWM in order to install 2.3.6?
And should I do data/cache wipe. If so, how?
Thanks in advance. I really don't know whats going on.
Oops. I thought this would automatically be moved to Q&A after I checked that box. Could a mod move it there please?
Thanks

Hey, I'm actually in the same boat as this guy. I have a Rogers GSM Razr and I'm wondering if I want to install an ICS kernel based ROM, I have to use RSD lite to flash up to an ICS stock rom, and then flash the rom I want, right?
Thanks for the link Pedro.
Does my phone need any modifications (root/CWM) in order for me to flash with RSD?

Not really. Take your phone as a latam device. Any rom for a latam razr will work fine.
Just follow the procedure for ics on latam razr.
You have 4 Langs on ir. Eng. Pt. En. Fr.
And I posted a working 1 click root method today.
Btw, tell the guys about it

Sorry, being kind of a noob myself i don't know how to post links just search the forums and look for videos on YouTube, that's what I did, because the razr has a locked bootloader it's very hard to really ruin it, seems the devs have a fix for everything ! Good luck

I don't know if this will let me post a link yet, but the "Literally Fool Proof Guide To Installing .211 (ICS)" (Google that) was the guide that got the update installed for me. It involved wiping the phone, but it's worth it since I had the time to go through my Titanium backups, etc. Here's the link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1692694
EDIT: BTW, I had to get Version 1.7 of Matt's DroidRAZRUtility to re-root after installing ICS 4.0.4 (i.e. the .211 update). Version 1.6 didn't root it. I did not need the "Modified" version 1.6, though; did the fastboot flashing with Matt's 1.6-final. I also had to install updated Motorola drivers (came with DroidRAZRUtility1.7forICS.zip) to reroot.

HELP!! Please help me unbrick my Razr XT910 :((

Hello fellow XDAers,
I would reallllllyy really appreciate any help anyone can give me on this issue. I have a Rogers Razr XT910. So here's the story. I was a happy crack flasher flying from one rom to the next daily. One day I felt like tasting some nice Jelly Bean so I flashed it. Right before jelly bean I was on Epilson project and everything was running tip top. I though it would work fine and being so excited I forgot how the BR Razr may not have been compatible with it. So I flashed it and to my dismay the phone wouldn't boot again but instead be stuck on the CM boot animation. The rom also got rid of my loyal BootMenu recovery. I thought this was no big deal because of course I could just use RSD lite to return back to stock and like a good crack flasher I made a nandroid backup which I could restore later. I've been tring to flash back the ICS Fastboot files that the wonderful gentlemen from Eternity Project have supplied us with but It just won't restore. When I use RSD Lite it keeps failing on step 6/22 and when I use EternityProject's Fla**** it runs through the program fully but it keeps saying "FAILED (remote: )" after some of the text. Please help me save my baby!! :crying: Any help would be greatly appreciated fellow XDAers!!! Bless all of you!!

Step 6/xx is cdt.bin flash. It fails if you try to flash an incorrect rom region to ur razr.
Are u sure you have a latam device?

No, RSD used only for flashing official firmwares.

Razr V (XT885) Custom recovery BMM

Hey guys I have a Razr V and I know there is basically no support for it on here but having a look around I managed to install Boot Menu Manager (BMM) recovery on it and it seams to be working fine.
Foolishly I tried to flash a CM10.1 ROM on it that is hardcoded to only work on Safestrap ROM slot 1. I can still access the recovery though and I was wondering if someone can point me to a ROM they may work with this phone (its stuck on ICS kernel and I'm not sure if there is a JB kernel I could flash)
This is good progress for us guys with this phone, I think its available in Canada, China and Australia. Anyway I'm trying to get a custo ROM on here and was wondering if some of you guys might be able to help me out.
Would I be able to flash a JB kernel for the XT910? The phones are very similar, but I don't want to try it if it will certainly brick my phone.
EDIT: at the moment my phone is boot looping on the CM10 screen so it is good news we may be close to getting a custom ROM on here, or maybe I'm just an idiot and have ruined my phone
Cheers
SUCCESS!!! I managed to boot into D-WIZ 3.01 ROM but I have no software buttons anyone Know a patch for this?

What were the problems with the rom you installed. Also to port roms you need a base like cm10 otherwise its pointless. Every custom rom not based on stock is cyanogen based. All roms like miui, pac, etc are all based on cyanogen. So if we can get a cyanogen mod built rom to boot on our phone we can then start modifying it get all the broken things to work once we have done that we can then create a devtree then compile our roms from source. Its a bit backwards but way quicker than starting from nothing.
The soft buttons was an easy fix but the other problems where the SD card wouldn't mount properly. (File manager and storage recognised it but the phone said it was damaged) and the camera force closed.

Hey, I too have a RAZR V, and I live in Canada. For MONTHS I've been waiting for JB, anything higher than 4.0.4, but Motorola is taking their sweet ass time with it.
I'm not very tech savvy, so I was wondering if you could post a tutorial, or a walkthrough of how you flashed CM10 onto your phone?
I can provide any information you might need, please let me know
I managed to get it to boot once but other attempts have been unsuccesfull. I sent RAZR V device info to whirleyes the developer of BMM and hopefully he can improve compatibility.
At the moment the only thing working properly is flashing zips. I've soft bricked my phone several times this week and I'm about to go on vacation for a month so i might try out again when I get back.
In guess the good thing about a locked boot loader is that it is almost impossible to fully brick
At the moment its trial and error sorry, I'm not sure how I got it to boot the first time and also camera and SD card didn't work.

Hi everyone,
I was wondering it it's possible to install the Motorola RAZR/RAZR MAXX (GSM) CyanogenMod 10.1 on my Motorola RAZR V X885?
I checked that both devices have the same specs.
The version that I want to try to install is the RC5. I would post the link, but, "ALL new users prevented from posting outside links in their messages". hahaha
Do u think I will get some trouble with this?
Thanks!

I was thinking exactly about doing the same thing, but I'm concern about using a ICS kernel with a JB rom. We should first try to flash a JB kernel. But I'm a bit loss with SafeStrap. Has anyone been able to boot something else in Slot 2+ ? I've tried to copy my existing system over these slot and it doesn't work. But I guess it has something to do with the kExec thing.
You can't do so. Your bootloader only allows you to install the system with the same signature. It won't pass the signature check to boot unless you backup and wipe mmcblk1p16(cid)

Please Help. RAZR MAXX JB 4.1.2 bricked.

Hello Razr people,
I have Chinese Razr maxx with Blur_Version.67.213.6.XT910.ChinaRetail.en.CN.zip OTA installed.
CDT might have been 5. But still I managed to root with a chinese root method.
Everything was fine until I went outside China.
None of the sim cards I tried were working. And in China, apart from China Telecom, everything else was working.
So I thought, maybe I should try the GSM patch with the magic code patch given in XDA in some other thread.
Hence I went into BMM recovery, installed the patch. rebooted the phone.
And it didn't start at all for like 30 minutes. It was stuck with M logo and blinking every now and then.
Hence, I decided to factory reset from stock recovery. Still it's the same.
And now I think I cannot flash it back to JB, as it was an OTA, and there's no firmware for flashing.
as CDT might have gone higher, I can't even go back to ICS.
I am new to all this, but I have spent a lot of time in reading all this info and now I'm stuck wondering what can i do if JB with higher CDT got bricked?
Please Please guys, I really need help with this,
Thank you very very much in advance. I really really appreciate it.

Thanks. However, I was wondering can I still flash the ICS fastboot after having the JB OTA installed that too with higher CDT?
I still have BMM coming when I boot the phone.
So I am afraid of fastbooting the ICS file and loosing even BMM.
Please let me know what do you think is the best option?
A
1. Flash ICS flastboot of Chinaretail.
2. Upgrade via the zip file of the 4.0.4 OTA
3. Update via zip to ChinaRetail JB 4.1.2
or
B
1. Install a custom rom like AOKP on 2nd rom/system slot (Will it work though?)
Thank you very much.

In ya case i believe both method are wrong and wont work on ya razr .
For first method :
Just flash the appropriate china fastboot via rsd and then apply jellybean ota.zip from stock recovery .
Ya don't have to flash ics ota.zip ,just fastboot would work to update ya phone to jellybean
Second method :
Ya can't install akop or cm10 unless ya not on jellybean .
So first update ya phone to jellybean and then root (if root exploit is available for Chinese jellybean ) ,
Install ss or bmm ,
Partition and install custom roms on 2nd or 3rd slot
Thx

Hey man,
Thanks a ton. I got AOKP 4.2.2. JB installed in slot 2 and it's working flawlessly.
However, I cannot access the network provider. So there is no mobile network.
My phone is unlocked.
Another strange thing is that, in the settings menu, the IMEI number is 000000000 ...
Now that is not possible as far as I know.
Any idea as to what I can do to get the network and make phone calls?
Thanks again for all your help.

Hey man, I tried to install the baseband from the previous OTA that was on my phone ... and another Baseband from Chinese JB Fastboot.
However, still no network or no imei.
I am currently in India, so does it mean I will have to find an indian baseband?
Also, AOKP is installed via BMM in rom slot system 2.
Can that be a problem?
I was wondering if I tried to flash with a Chinese JB fastboot via RSDLite, will it flash through properly?
Cause then at least I can send my phone to motorola and ask them about the network issue.
Thanks so much though. Seriously. You are a saviour.

I was wondering if I tried to flash with a Chinese JB fastboot via RSDLite, will it flash through properly?
Cause then at least I can send my phone to motorola and ask them about the network issue.
Thanks so much though. Seriously. You are a saviour.

I just can't understand why ya getting network issue even after flashing all the baseband. Damn !!
Try to flash Indian baseband it may help ya .
Nah flashing any custom rom on another slot doesn't affect stock slot at all akop or cm10 is not the issue .
Edit : flashing different region kernel and bricking ya phone and send it to service centre wont help ya at all beacsue they ll come to know that ya tried to flash it illegally so ya warranty no more void . As ya saying ya in India and using Chinese xt910 ,service centre ll not accept it so ya need to go back to China and give it there for fix
