I have plan to sell my Nvidia Shield tablet and buy Nexus 9 LTE .
Despite the low price of Shield tablet but there are some drawbacks .. Specially the poor WiFi signal and lack of accessories, and really it well
Are there any offers for nexus 9 LTE ?
Mostly I'm going to use it for taking notes , how is nexus 9 with Stylus ? Any suggestions and experiences here ?
If i can get the WiFi version, do I can use 4G usb modem through OTG cable ?
I can't quite tell what you're asking here, but you are not allowed to buy/sell/trade on XDA anymore. You may use your login/password on Swappa.com
As for your other questions, maybe someone with experience can answer
The Nexus 9's K1 doesn't have the Direct Stylus tech from the Tegra 4, so using a stylus will not be the same. I have a stylus that I tried for an art app, but the precision isn't there. As for writing sentences, you'll have a hard time drawing clean letters.

Simple question - any ideas?
I dot iPad1 3G but I need keyboard and something other than iOS and Safari.
Transformer (at least before Win8 devices) seems like a perfect device but I need 3G connectivity from time to time. I can do it with my phone but since it is ****ty ZTE Blade its battery is not very good.
If I could have an option for stick (where I need 3g for longer than few minutes) it would be great!
First of all don't knock the blade , that phone was amazing for its price and spec.
In terms of a 3G dongle i don't think the android os supports it yet.

Oh, I know. I paid about 299 zloty for brand new one abot 6 months ago. Since I do not call much I don't need anything better for my private use.
But that creates a problem with 3G Internet.
I think there's a thread in general that was about 3g modems. Someone got it working but he couldn't download anything just load webpages (and baybe flash videos but I'm not sure)
found it http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1559046

Thanks, I will have a look.
Hi,
I am at cross roads between the Nexus 7 or Asus TF300.
Currently i am proud owner of Galaxy Nexus and totally love it.
I like to read articles, blogs, Movies, Videos online on my phone and therefore looking for a tablet with a bigger size than GNex.
Transformer TF300:
The pros i see in TF300 is that it is expandable with keyboard dock, USB, MicroSD, MHL support are a Big Big plus for me.
using MHL i can output stuff to my monitor something i do with my GNex every now and than.
Nexus 7:
The Nexus 7 felt really well in my hand and since i use GNex the experience should be pleasing.
The problem with GNex is lack of MHL (big one) and lack of MicroSD, SD support, no keyboard dock going forward.
Both have Tegra 3 and same resolution.
So what do you guys think?? is the Transformer TF300 experience the same, smooth and painless as GNex, Nexus 7 or is there a difference.
Should i go for Nexus 7 or TF300.
Thanks

I Googled, Youtubed Slimport and Nexus 7 and nothing came up.
So i called Google tech support and the guy i talked to told me that it HAS MHL, I told him it doesn't
He went back and checked/asked someone and agreed it doesn't, than i asked him to check about SlimPort so he put me on hold again and asked someone and they said it doesn't have SlimPort.
I know the Nexus 7 will get better updates and is a lot cheaper, but with no microSD, no SlimPort and MHL which are important for me, as of now i am pretty inclined towards TF300.
I will head to Sam's Club in a day or 2 to check them out side by side as that's the only store where i saw both tablets in close proximity.
Hey everyone!
I'm looking for a stick PC in the $70 price range. I do not want a box or puck. My main concerns are WiFi and Bluetooth. Multiple USB ports is a welcome addition. I've read about the MK808b, MK809 II and the Neo G4. I'd like to know if there is any better alternative that provides stable wifi. That is my first priority and I don't mind sacrificing Bluetooth. I definitely want a MicroSD card slot, not TF slot. Also, I don't mind tinkering with the stick, though I'd like it rooted out of the box. I don't necessarily want custom ROM support. And yes, it should be a minimum of 2 cores.
In points:
1) Stick, not box
2) Stable WiFi
3) MicroSD
4) Bluetooth (OPTIONAL)
5) Multiple USB Ports (OPTIONAL, but minimum 1)
6) Rootable, or pre rooted.
7) Ability to connect a USB Hub, if there's only one port.
Looking forward to some great suggestions from the community!
Probox 2
I also came across the Probox 2 Ultimate that seems to be a very good alternative, although a bit more expensive. It also comes with an air mouse. But it is out of stock almost everywhere.
so can anyone suggest a decent air mouse too? I'm really looking forward to buying one of these..
Feedback
Do someone has any feedback in regards Rikomagic MK802IIIS Bluetooth ??
In amazon says is a new 2013 version, FCC compliant.
I would recommend the Minix Neo G4...
I have just ordered the G5 box because I wanted the extra usb ports etc.. And Bluetooth.
This was on the strength of my friend demonstrating his G4 and mk808. The G4 was an awesome machine for such a tiny box.
I couldn't see much difference in performance against my galaxy s3.
Have fun playing with your new toy when you decide which one to go for.

I ordered the Minix Neo X5. It excellent build quality and a ton of ports. and it has a lot of support on the web from Minix and there's forums out there too. You can root and put a custom rom. Out of the box it does now output full HD though. It up converts 720p. The Finless ROM does force full HD, but it shouldn't claim it does full HD. I ended up returning mine when I started thinking how close other better options are coming, t if you need one right now this is the best probably as far as features go.
Pretty much any one will be awesome to play with. I'm waiting for the Onya simply because I like the multiple controller support out of the box.
Curious about the comment about the G5 and the MK808/G4 comparison. What did the G4 do that the MK808 was lacking (obviously Bluetooth)?
But these are awesome little TV companions. YouTube, internet, Netflix, Hulu, emulators, games, etc. Lots of options.
I personally have an MK808 and it runs everything I've thrown at it mostly games / light video. I can't recommend the bluetoothless model with the MK808B out now. Lots of devs working on it.

If I were you I would wait a couple of weeks more for the new Rikomagic Quad-Core stick!!!
Hopefully they got rid of all the WiFi problems in the previous models, and the software upgrades and community support is pretty good!
Check the specs here:

Also, if you use Skype a lot, you might want to consider a stick with a built-in camera, like the Kimdecent B12!

I'm now personally waiting for the Ouya as well after returning my Minix X5. I started thinking I will get an Ouya anyway and then any other Android box will collect dusk. Also, for the simple fact that you can use a controller out of the box to control everything without any troubleshooting or workarounds. and is guaranteed to have more support than ANY other TV box. If you absolutely need an Android stick right now, get a cheap one $50 or less, because you'll surely want the Ouya once it's out for only $99 with a controller, full HD and tons of support.
My minix x5 arrived a couple of days ago and I am delighted with it so far. .. I can appreciate the appeal of the Ouya especially for someone not comfortable with rooting, flashing, fiddling etc. But if the x4 is as good as this but in a stick form then I stand by my original recommendation.

Like you I'm very interested in Ouya but my fear is that you will be locked into only the apps/channels they offer. Of course it will be rooted in time but I'm looking for something that will allow me to watch all of the streaming companies such as Netflix, Hulu, Directv Everywhere, HBOGo, etc. Playing better games with the support they will offer is great but it will be interesting to see how locked down it will be.
Also I'm curious to see how GameStick goes once it releases in a few weeks.
Me too...

Its a good device, fast, cheap, and a good support.
before this, i haved a mk802, and the difference between 2 devices is quite significant
I recommend this device (MK802lllS + BT)
Cheers

Hi guys,
I just received a few hours ago my Nexus 9 and I checked both, Slimport and MHL but doesn't work. The Slimport device works fine with my Nexus 5 and my TV but the Nexus 9 doesn't work.
Cheers.
Worst nexus device ever.

I'm very disappointed with this issue...
Maybe could be a problem with the inside configuration of my Slimport, I had notice that some Slimport works fine in some devices but doesn't work in others due changes inside micro usb port (different cable connections).
But still.... In my Nexus 5 the Slimport works absolutely fine....

somehow it seems you hit the nail. i was very waiting for the nexus 9 and i am so disapointed what i see about it that it makes me really sad. this device is so full of wrong decisions, irrational design flaws and build quality issues that i am nearly speachless. and then it is quite expensive for the few it offers.
it is quite "interesting" that the nexus 6 PHONE gets 3GB ram, upto 64GB rom and the 64bit os nexus 9 only 2GB and a zram swap using 512MB to gain a little bit by compression >.> and then it seems to have some issues with otg, lack of micro hdmi or slimport etc.
i don't get it. what's the point htc? trying to debut as the worst nexus manufactor ever?
Terrible. This is the final nail in the coffin for my "should I get the Nexus 9" decision. Glad I got the Shield Tablet at release and will stick with that for a while now, probably until Nvidia release their next tab.
I have a Google answer about this but I can't post links after 10 post
In google groups, in product forums go to Nexus 9 and find mi post named "Nexus 9 and Slimport doesn't work"
They said to me that the micro usb port doesn't support video output.
Hi guys,
So if I get everything right that means : the new Nexus 9 doesn't have wireless charging. It doesn't have support for MHL nor SlimPort.
OK : maybe it's really handy with a Chromecast key... but that's a foul limitation.
Chromecast simply does not work when you have no Wi-Fi.
I'm a professor.
I teach at University.
I want to be able to show .ppt presentations to my students.
But I don't always have a network, or the LP to the University network.
So, I just can't do it ? While I coudl do it with my Nexus 7 2012 ?
That is a huge step backwards... and I think for that simple reason I won't get the Nexus 9 but will try to find a nice N7 2013 LTE instead...
Chances are, I'll have more functionnality and pay less than the half !
The real sad thing about that is that the "Nexus Legend" is vanishing... Not fading, but melting like a snowflake in August !
Bye Bye Nexus... Loved the N4, loved the N7 2012, loved the N5...
Regards.

Hi,
Well, it might be.
Shall investigate this further.
Anyways, I don't think the Nexus 9 will make it to my door : too expensive for a feature limited tablet.
Regards.
Likely just not a popular thing to have. I have a slimport cable that i just never used for the past year once I got chromecast. Now i understand I'm not a professor with that specific need. if that's a deal breaker I'd just return it get a 2013 N7 and spend the $300 you save on something else. maybe a shield tablet. Tablets, tablets everywhere!
Hello, I wanted to ask people that own Mi pad 4, and plus version (which I plan to take) as well (I don't know the difference between them except screen size) is this laptop good in way of productivity? I am searching not expensive solution from such as browsing, google docs office editing most. As I plan to use custom rom on device 100%, but want to know how is tablet productivity, performance? Is multitasking works good, and split screen for 2 apps on one screen? As for productivity and getting rid of my almost completely broken laptop, I also plan to get Bluetooth keyboard and mouse, but is tablet supports 2 Bluetooth devices at once? Thank you
If you want productivity get a notebook imo.
My son prefer the mi pad4 for remote class lessons this days over Dell notebook. His school uses Zoom.

yeah i think buying a worthy device is apt in this circumstances..i will do the same..thanks guys
