[Request] Android 5.1 boot.img from GPe OTA - Sony Xperia Z Ultra

Note: Please, do move this thread if I'm in the wrong section.
So, I'm looking for the 5.1 kernel (boot.img), but it seems to be nearly impossible to get my hands on it, so can someone please share it if you have access to it (you'll have to be rooted).
Many thanks in advance

Custom Rom on Lenovo Lephone

Hi,
I'm new on the forum and I hope I'm writing in the right section.
I'm going to be a new android user as well because my Lenovo Lephone is coming end of this week?
Unfortunately there is no section for it because I guess it is only available in China.
The phone is already rooted: XXX://androidforums.com/all-things-root-lephone/102624-root.html (I'm not permitted to link)
There are some neg points:
- the market is not installed
- there is no custom rom
I'm not at all a programmer or something close but I'm ready to learn, to try and to get my hands dirty. I will just need some paths and answers.
My questions:
- Is it very difficult to create (or adapt) a custom rom to a android-phone when it is rooted? What should I do?
- Is it possible to install the market to the initial rom? Or should I flash it? Should I add it to the initial rom when it is extracted.
- Does this tutorial to extract the rom work for any android phone? ([TUTORIAL] How to unpack Android ROMs on Windows)
Thanks in advance for replying,
Best regards
Hi,

Hello Arvind,
First of all, no buddy have enough time to explain whole KDZ flafhing process again for you
Secondly This is the link to extremely easy and detailed KDZ flashing process by cmahendra
Go through this tutorial and flash KDZ. it's very easy, if you follow every instruction step-by-step.:good:
BTW if you don't know any thing about rooting and flshing, then how did you flashed Beanstalk Kitkat to your L9??
Please do not open a new thread unless you really want to create a new topic. Use the search function and post in an existing thread. Please read the sticky threads.

I got Resurrection Remix [MM] Working!!!!

Hey there.
Recently i had been wandering around the threads looking for roms and stuff.
Noticed that the thread for this rom was dead.
I dunno if you guys have it working but there werent any comments on that thread. Everyone who tested this reported FC's and bootloops.
Mine's working fine and battery life easily goes for 2 days
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2647492 (This isnt a step. I just put a link here so you can thank this developer for this development.)
Please thank the respective developers for their hard work. None of the links i provide here is my own. They owe this much.
Here's how i got it working-
1.
Firstly i flashed a kernel with dual recovery.
Link-
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2799388.
I was running stock 5.1.1 ( 14.6.A.1.236.) and bootloader unlocked. So please do the necessary steps to acheive them.
2.
The device wasn' t booting so i pressed the volume up button and it booted into cwm.
I guess cwm was essential. I really have no idea. Hit me up with info.
Then i installed the rom and g apps.
Simple as that.

Thanks very much for this ROM .. I am going to download it .. internet too slow here
one more thing,
Can you put this thread into the correct section eg. Xperia Z Ultra Android Development or Xperia Z Ultra Original Android Development
So it would be easy to looking for.

It's not developed by me. I take no credits for this.
I just happened to work my way around to make it work.
As I mentioned above all the credits go to the developer.

Rooting question please

Hello again guys right I have another question and I know its more than likely been answered a million times but I am truly a newbie my question: Rooting does it let you put the latest or recent android os on old android tablets? Like for example my archos 80 xs which in another thread which I need help on as Its going nuts atm! Which if you check my other thread you'll see what that's about. Anyway I look forward to your answers and thank you in advance .

Rooting it or not is not essential to that but you should need two main things in order to do this:
- Your device´s bootloader need to be unlockable or is unlocked by default or as in old times happened with some devices doesn´t matter if it is unlocked or not (prior to KitKat)
- And of course that it is a custom ROM available for your specific device.
