A family member of mine has a Z Ultra Google Play Edition. After applying the Android 5.1 OTA, they observed that recent SMS were missing from conversations. They are using Google's Messenger app to handle SMS, and I asked them to verify that it was still set as the default SMS application after the OTA (it was).
Has anyone else observed alterations to the SMS data store after an OTA like this?

Yesterday, I got an update to Twitter version 5.2.2. I'm using a Sony Z1 Compact with Android version 4.3. Since the update, Twitter is now using the same sound as my SMS notifications - the phone default notification. I keep trying to set Twitter to use a different sound (within the application - Settings > Account > choose notification sound). Is anyone else seeing this? Something I am missing?
Thanks in advance!
Same problem here. After choosing other sound, setting does not really change.
Thankfully this appears to be resolved with the newest Twitter update to 5.2.3.
Thanks Twitter.
Ever since lollipop came out my phone no longer gives me instant notifications. Often times I will receive them an hour after I should have. Generally, the notifications that are lagging are emails from gmail app and messages from the meetup app among others. After the 5.0 update came out I've read numerous posts online about this issue and that turning off wifi connection will make the notifications push through just fine. That worked for awhile, but with the recent update to 23c(i think) not even that works.
I rooted my phone in hopes to fine a kitkat rom to use, as it was lollipop that effectively ruined the use of my phone. Though I've also noticed that some of the lollipop roms (skydragon) claim to fix the issue by disabling IPv6, yet skydragon somehow disabled push notifications all together. So my question is, how do I fix this notification issue. Is there an app/script i can install to fix it? Or is there a good rom I can use that will work? Thanks.
This may not be strictly related to Lollipop. On May 29, I received the following eMail from Google:
Starting on June 27th, 2015, SMS notifications from Google Calendar will no longer be sent. SMS notifications launched before smartphones were available. Now, in a world with smartphones and notifications, you can get richer, more reliable experience on your mobile device, even offline.
To receive notifications on your smartphone, either configure the calendar app that came with your device or install Google Calendar for Android or iPhone. For more information on how to configure notification defaults, check out the Help Center.

This bug was fixed with the 24b update. And yes @DeanGibson it is related to the 23c lollipop update.
Here's my setup:
- Asus ZenWatch 2 WI501Q with Android Wear 1.3.0.2442001
- Asus New Padfone A86 with Android 5.0.2 (Firmware 12.4.0.72_20151116) / also tried on Sony Xperia Z Ultra with Android 5.1.1
- Omlet Chat 2.1.7091
- all devices and apps are set to german language
And here's my problem:
I can get all kinds of notifications and messages on the ZenWatch like SMS, E-Mail, Weather etc.
Unfortunately I do not get any notifications or messages from Omlet Chat.
Anyone got an idea if it is my fault or wrong settings? Maybe anyone can confirm the same problem?
Thanks in advance!
After latest Android Wear Update I got a notification exactly one single time. Since then no Omlet Chat notification reached the watch. That does not make sense at all...
Hey Everyone!
I recently just updated to Marshmallow and since then my Messenger App (version 1.7.050) is not displaying any setting for Group messaging. I can make a group message by adding people to a group conversation but it sends individual text messages to each person.
I can switch my default app to Textra, Hangouts, or Sony's default messaging and they all allow me to use group messaging correctly. They also all display the option in the settings menu to enable/disable group messaging. (Currently all of my texting apps are "enable" group messaging in hopes it will force Messenger App to work, but it does not).
I have uninstalled, re-installed Messenger multiple times, and have performed multiple restarts of the device itself. (still not luck)
Within the settings of Messenger it does display my number correctly, just no MMS/Group messaging Options
Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated
Thank you for any help!!!
Z5 Compact ( Andriod 6.0) Messenger (1.7.050) Carrier (T-Mobile)
I have the same issue. Also on MM and using T-Mobile. I started using hangouts and that works better for me, but MMS doesn't always send correctly using hangouts. Its been a pain in the butt trying to get SMS/MMS working consistently since the MM upgrade. I also tried Textra, and about 50% of the time my MMS would fail on that also. Sticking with Hangouts for now, but once an update gets released for Messenger I will try it again.
My device is running on RR 5.8.3 based on Android 7.1.2. I installed Android Messages from Play Store and changed it to the default messaging app. But I can't see any notifications from this app and then I launch this app, there is no new SMS and MMS. Anyone please help me!
