Is there a way to get the lock screen messages to open when the message is swiped? I have to swipe the screen first to unlock the phone. I do not have a password, just swipe to unlock..
No. When you have a notification on the lock screen you need to select it then swipe to unlock and then app will be launcher right away.
This is such a frustrating mechanic! I'm used to my Nexus 5 where I just double-tap the notification.. Argh

Is there a way to have the Swipe Lock set to enable before a certain time and pattern lock after?
Right now it's either swipe lock or pattern lock with swipe lock. I want to be able to have swipe lock enabled for 5 minutes. After that pattern lock would be enabled.
Is there a way to do that?
Hey all- I've been using the HTC EVO for the last couple of years and just got the Galaxy S3 on Verizon last week. I'm trying to figure out how to do something on this phone that I was able to do on my EVO, and that's to have separate time out values for the Swipe Lock screen vs. the PIN password lock screen.
I sync my phone to my corporate Exchange server and they enforce the PIN lock screen, which is OK with me. I've set the timeout value to maximum settings (13 minutes), but what I still want is the ability to have the swipe lock screen enabled for anytime I turn off the phone with the power button and then turn it back on so that I reduce butt dialing, etc... But I can't seem to configure the swipe lock screen to come up except for it to come up at the same time the PIN lock screen is activated.
In the security settings, there's the option to enable unlocking "With swipe lock-Use secured lock with swipe lock" and I've selected that, but the swipe lock screen only appears when the PIN lock is configured to display. I want the swipe lock screen to appear independently of the PIN lock screen. The swipe lock should appear anytime I turn on the phone, but the PIN lock screen should only appear after 13 minutes of inactivity. The EVO had this option, but I can't seem to get the S3 to do it.
Any ideas?
I have been using a pattern to unlock my phone when the screen turns off.
All of a sudden I am now first having to swipe a picture that looks like a lock to the right and then use my pattern to unlock the phone.
How do I get rid of the lock swipe so that I only have to draw my pattern?
I have attached a pic of the lock screen that I am trying to remove, not sure how it was turned on
I just recently updated to 5.0.1 through a forced OTA which I'm still not happy about. With the recent changes to the lock screen notifications I'm not encountering a irritating problem. Before when I got an SMS and would normally select it from the lock screen and it would bring me to the SMS app and display the message. Now when I select the same notification I get an extra 'swipe to unlock' with an empty box. I prefer to have a swipe lock screen so that I don't pocket dial, no security concerns. Is there a way to remove this extra step without permanently disabling the lock screen as a whole? Thank you in advance.
I have a sunia, stock 5.1. It has pattern activated on the lock screen. Sometimes it is possible to unlock it without the pattern.
How did I do it?
I leave a notification on the lock screen, I swipe fast (from right to left) to dismiss it. Then I swipe from bottom to top and phone unlocks. Usually this has to be done in one fast movement.
Another way is having a music player notification (I tried with soundcloud). On the lock screen, drag from top to bottom. The notification gets bigger. Pull the quick settings panel a couple of times, then touch the notification and the phone unlocks without the pattern.
Can you guys try this and see and confirm it?
