Hello people. This is my first time really posting my own thread on XDA. I was wondering has anyone found anything in regards to being able to use the stock G3 keyboard and camera on ASOP LP ROMs? I'm currently running the newest nightly of CM and I'm loving the blazing speed but I can't stand the keyboard and the stock camera app. I have a flash able zip of the lg g3 keyboard that works on kitkat ASOP ROMs. If I was to provide that could someone possibly look into making it work for the LP ASOP ROMs? I know the camera is a long shot from reading other threads about it, but I thought it was at lest worth asking if anyone knew any knew information on that topic.
Thanks for all your help or advice in advance!!
LG G3 keyboard, yes. LG G3 camera, not without the LG framework. The keyboard is overrated, but the camera is fantastic.
It's a shame really. The LG camera app is far superior to others I have tried on this phone.

I absolutely love the LG keyboard. I think it is one of tbe best ones I have ever used.
What keyboards would you say are on the same level or better? And also by you
Saying yes do you know how or where I can get a working LG keyboard for ASOP
LP ROMS? Like I said I have a flashable zip of the keyboard that works for KK if that
Would help someone?
Again thanks for any help or advice in advance!!
I found an apk for the lollipop keyboard on another forum. Everything works except vibrate on key press. I can't attach the apk link as I am a new member but it does exist and can provide a link for you in a message.

Hey there guys I'm new to the forums but I've been using android since the G1 launched. I just got the LG optimus C and I know it's nothing powerful but it does the job and runs netflix pretty well now. Well I have it rooted now with Gingerbreak and was wondering if anyone has gotten a custom rom running on it yet?
I managed to turn swype off (big fingers dont mix with swype on this screen) and I changed the home screen, disabling the LG one. But I would really love
to get CM running on it like devs have managed to get running on the V and other optimus devices.
I apologize if this is in the incorrect area, I knew the phones were similar on a hardware level so it was the closest I knew.
Anyone had any success or suggestions?
selfless bump
Have you found a recovery program that supports it? I don't see it listed at http://androidforums.com/getitnowmarketing/330813-all-one-recovery-thread.html
Someone claims to have gotten one going.I forget the name but it begins with an X. I know the custom optimus roms just need to be tweaked slightly for this device. Unfortunately I suck at custom roms, better at psp coding. If anyone wants to port it i'd be so grateful i'd donate.

I know that drellisdee/getitnowmarketing worked on bringing the Amon-Ra recovery to Optimus T and other Optimus flavors. You might contact him.

Not sure if you aware of this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2335530
a lot ported Touchwiz launchers that I am aware of are based on old S3, but skined to look like S4, Note3, or even S5. There's no real port that I am aware of, that's because it soo embeded into system frameworks, libs,..etc, probably many developers having hard time to port it.
but couple of developers got together and able to port HTC Sense 6 Apps, Blinkfeed, launcher, all good stuff (see link below)..I was monitoring this thread when they start work on it, so if couple of developers come together, everything possible as it seems. it seems it is just not many developers intersted on Touchwiz launcher. I know prvious Touchwiz launcher was really bad, but I believe Samsung come along good and made a lot of improvement on newest Touchwiz launcher that's on new devices.

I know we have a G3 port but does anyone plan on porting the G3 from the Verizon version? I love the new G3 setup, its smaller faster and strangly elegant with the flat look. My reason for this port is because the current G3 Ports do no support Verizon's MMS.
I know there are other SMS apps that support MMS without needing this but I am in love with the Text speech of the phone call, message name and message itself. I drive a lot and for it to read it to me is a huge necessity.
Thanks in advance
Xdabbeb said he was working on a verizon specific G3 port. He helped with cloudyG3 port. But we should see some (more) great stuff from @xdabbeb for verizon users in the coming weeks.
SM-T320 - Bone Stock (for now)
VS980 - Xdabbeb 1.2.1
Grouper - SlimKat F2FS
TF300T - CROMBi-ok
YP-G1 - CM11/Impulse
I hope so

I hope so my man. I've been checking the forums everyday to see if there's a Verizon port. I have ran OptimusG3 port and I currently have Cloudy'sG3 port installed, but I want one that is built specifically for Verizon from a Verizon phone. (*Although these ports have been working pretty good, despite a few small issues like the data dropping to n3G here and there and the Verizon MMS that you previously mentioned.*) Hopefully someone out there is working on one and just aren't talking about it.

Honestly I enjoy Verizones Messages over hangouts or the stock messenger. But I cant find anyone that can get the rom voice messages to work with anything other than the stock messenger. Otherwise I would use the g3 port and hangouts or VMessages....
Have you looked for an app in the play store? I'm sure there is an app to do what you need. I know it's not ideal but it should hold you over till xdabbeb's g3 port comes out

I was just thinking of posting this same question in the general comments section.
I have been running a G3 port for more than a month. I hope that we can get a G3 rom for the Verizon G2.
I will definitely donate to the rom creator,

@rebar71 That's pretty goodnews, but I also think they will deliver it since even their low end devices are getting the G3 UI and the G2 didnt reached the 18 months yet so there should be an update remaining. It would be even better if LG would give an unlock tool then the G3 UI update will get released. If the UI gets simplified so must be the bootloader just simplify it and allow bootloader unlock :good:
Is there really a need to open a new thread everytime someone finds this on the web?
I'm happy with cyanogenmod 11 and by the time this update comes out cyanogenmod 13 will of been out for a few months ????????

I like CM a lot as well. I ran it and its variants on my last phone. But on this device, I haven't use it yet because I've decided that I like having everything work. No disrespect meant to the CM team and other AOSP devs. You can only do so much without OEM drivers. And they do a fantastic job with what they have.
If the Nexus 5 had been more competitive in a couple of key areas, I would've bought that phone instead.
Sent from my LG-D801
the only thing i dont like about the AOSP is the camera. I've tried different camera apps and none of them was comparable with the stock one(xcam). The AOSP based roms would otherwise be perfect for me.
I use the play store Google camera, now HDR works it's brilliant, I don't really miss the lg camera as it's a pain to have to keep switching modes for different situations, I much prefer the lg g3 camera though as it's flat, quick and one setting does all.
It's great news but we already have Cloudy G3.

Yes, we do have a G3 ported ROM. But like I said, I've found that I like having everything working. And there is one pretty cool feature exclusive to T-Mobile devices that does not exist on any custom ROM... WiFi calling.

Really? It has to do with getting the G3 UI and having everything working as it should. I thought I made that clear already. Considering that pretty much all custom ROMs are built around the D802 variant, the rest of us invariably have stuff that doesn't work with those ROMs. Some of those things are important to some of us.
getting a new ui doesn't get you new apps and stability... it's just the looks of the user interface and i doubt that has anything to do with system apps update... (although, it would be nice to see an update to this as well)
it's just like you change the theme in the rom that supports themes...
what i see here is that LG will update the UI only - if we get both UI update and new android version, that would be nice though

You can have the G3 UI with G2 "everything working as it should" stuff with Xposed and G2 Tweaksbox.

How?
The thing is, while we might get the UI look, I'm sure as hell we won't get split sceen, hide front touch buttons and other cool stuff. That's LG, folks - and it's somewhat understandable since they want your money.
that's why ported g3 roms exist... with a bit of help from xposed here and there

Xposed modules take care of the tweaks I need. Hell, I would think you guys would be stoked about this. With the OEM delivering it, you wouldn't need to use a ported hack - and everything would work. We wouldn't need a semi-stable port. Maybe they throw in the split screen, maybe they don't. Who cares. It's just software. You can add it later just like we do now.
I seriously don't understand the hate on display here. If I was an LG rep and came across this thread, I might be inclined to say, "screw those guys. I guess they don't want it." But the fact that a lot of you are running the G3 port says you do want it.

no hate, but knowing LG so far, we'll likely get just an UI update while Android L will remain for their newer devices only...
sure, developers will do their best to port L to G2... but official LG Android L - i doubt...
i hope i'm wrong and LG surprises us all for the 1st time
Hey!
So I'm enjoying my Sony Xperia z3, except for one issue that keeps following me: keyboard lag! ? I had it on my Huawei ascend mate 2 as well, but that thing is getting pretty old so it's not exactly surprising that it's struggling nowadays.
Any keyboard recommendations you guys are using? I'm using Gboard and the lag is unbearable... I turned off suggest contact names and personalized suggestions, but it's still awful. Swiftkey not much better. My Sony is on 6.0 stock, my Huawei is on 5.1 PAC ROM.
Preferably something that supports newer emojis (I have IOS emojis on both devices). I don't need stuff like themes, but I do require the option to swipe since I'm still getting used to a smaller screen.
(Also, I really hope I'm posting this in the correct area, I apologise if not!)
Bump.
Recently joined xda and so far I've had no user interaction, I would appreciate if someone would be kind enough to leave a suggestion just so I know I'm not alone on this forum..

Fleksy is a keyboard I want to like, but just can't. Doesn't seem to allow swiping (gesture typing is what I meant, sorry if my initial wording was confusing). Gboard is out of the question because it just seems to run awful no matter what phone I put it on, which is a shame because it'd be ideal for me if it didn't lag so much.
As far as the stock Xperia keyboard, it's what I'm using at the moment to get me by because gboard has become unusable. It's not the most ideal to me as it too lags a bit, just not quite as bad... at least my whole phone isn't locking up.
