Im looking for a s4 zoom sm-c101 on 4.4.2 custom rom, are there any that work out there?
I've been trying to find one all across the internet but with no luck at all and I'm also trying to make an AOSP ROM for this device but I'm no Dev in any shape or form so progress is.... Slow
I learn the process as I go and I've hit a major problem getting the blobs for this device but I hope maybe a dev might get this device one day.

i've been waiting a long time (had this device over a year now still no rom) i wish there at least was some rom like Cyanogenmod or Carbon rom which would support it i don't dare to install the S4 Mini version of Cyanogenmod yet don't know what it would do to my device
I've already checked and the s4 mini runs a different chipset and flashing cm for s4 mini will most likely end in the phone being bricked so I would advise not to flash under any circumstance.

Can someone port an ICS/JB ROM onto the Galaxy Player 4.2 (YP-GI1)? I really want to update my software, the 4.0/5.0 both have ICS on it and it would be great if my device could have it too, Thanks!
Development is still small. You are going to have to wait because I believe no one hasn't build a custom rom yet.

ICS porting worked chronologically:
The SGP 5.0 was the first to have working ICS ports and it took months before the Bluetooth bug was fixed.
Several months after 5.0 ports stabilized, some developers ported it to the SGP 4.0.
I suspect it worked this way, because there are a larger number of SGP 5.0 owners, hence leading to more output.
And, if my suspicions are correct, then it is going to be a very long while before the SGP 4.2/3.6 see any ports respectively, as I suspect that the number of people who own those devices is smaller yet.
It is feasible, but that would mean that a lot of our devs here who have done successful ports to the 4.0/5.0 would need their own SGP 4.2/3.6 to test their builds and ports on. And, I just don't see them spending money on an already under-supported device.
But, who knows? Crazier things have happened here on the SGP forums.
Is anyone working on this device? I have seen someone on the CyanogenMod Forums say that they have ICS on it but it's very unstable. Of course I can't believe that... But people got a root working using Odin3. If there is any developer that has this device and seeing this post, please.. reply! Thanks
Check this out
did it to my sons 4.2 player,he loves the rom. Check out this thread it has everything you need to upgrade-----http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1884071--- READ and good luck!!
The thread you sent me just has rooted ROMs. I already rooted my device.

ok so you want to upgrade, this is what i found.the roms are rooted and you flash them using odin.
Yeah but what does it upgrade?

Being rooted is a state of existence. You can add it or take it away at your disposal. Being rooted just means that you have the Super User binaries installed on your device. You un-root by uninstalling those binaries. Flashing a ROM with or without root simply means that the ROM you flashed has or doesn't have those binaries.
So, if you flash a rooted ROM over your currently rooted ROM, that's OK. That simply means you have older or newer binaries on your device. (And, yes. You can update Super User binaries.)
there is a rooted gingerbread stock rom, but I believe the dev that made it doesn't even have a 4.2 and had to rely on others to test it, even the 4.0 has a very small number of devs on it, and half the ones we've had in the past have moved on to newer devices. I doubt there will be any ICS/JB goodness for the 4.2 simply because there are no devs that actually own one, atleast as far as users on here go, maybe some guy somewhere might be working on it but they sure aren't here.
Yeah I used that exact ROM anyway to get the rooted gingerbread ROM but thanks anyway

Does anybody know when developers might actually try a ROM for this device?
Hi, I have a HTC One S. I can't complain about the phone but there aren't a lot official ROMs for this cellphone. On the new website of aokp isn't any ROM for the one s anymore, cyanogenmod has only cm10 stable and some 10.1 nightly and there is screen tearing, too. Or for example Ubuntu touch isn't avaible. Or a super nexus ROM. Or miui 5.
So my question is what is a good supported but also powerful smartphone?
Only Nexus devices get the most development support. Get a Nexus 4...
Sell it and equip yourselves with a nexus you won't start a thread like this again - for nexus something new pops up everyday
OK and any other devices? Maybe for people who are reading this thread and dont like nexus?
Sent from my One S using xda app-developers app
If you don't like nexus don't worry you will also able to use latest android resources.
But you need to search in google that how to make a own custom rom

The Galaxy S3, Galaxy S4, and Galaxy Note II all have great developer support, the US market versions of these phones have even better developer support but the International versions are great too. The Xperia Z is another phone with great developer support as well. All of these devices have official Cyanogenmod support, and AOKP support (Except for the Galaxy S4 which at this moment doesn't have official AOKP) support.

Its not simple but these days there are tutorials on compiling/debugging that makes life easier for newbies wanting to take first steps into aosp development
Bro making a rom is hard for us but not impossible.
You just need to learn how to port rom's from another device and how to modify your stock kernel to work properly in your custom rom.
Don't forget that the nexus/cm rom makers are also a human like us.
Try to search in Google.com

what's about this toutorial? It seems too easy. http://aokp.co/learn/so-you-want-to-build-aokp-jb-ubuntu-1204#swaggababy
Hey guys, I have no experience in porting ROMs so bear with me here. Firstly, would it be possible for me to port PA from the Nexus 5 over to the Xperia Z2? I am running stock at the moment (rooted/LB but will be open to unlocking) on the Z2. If so, should I just follow this guide? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1908008 . If it is not possible, could someone please briefly explain in layman terms as to why it isn't? If it isn't possible it was worth a shot asking anyway!
I don't have the patience to wait for a port sometime in the summer when Sony finally decides to release the phone in America and if I can make a contribution by porting over an awesome ROM and learning something then that would be great! I'm not looking to change PA or add features etc. Just a port built directly from their source.
Thanks in advance for any help! :highfive:
I heard that someone is waiting for stable releases of official CM11 to port
I also heard that we may posibly get official as soon as CM11 becomes stable
Id say wait a tiny bit

Thanks for replying! After I posted this thread, I looked at some of the CM threads and they all have camera/touchscreen problems so you're probably right, I'll wait it out a little while longer. Although that itch to flash the new PA release is becoming unbearable!

I may actually try to just do a PA port with one of the CM11 nightlies for personal use to see if I can even do it for a start :fingers-crossed: if things work out and there isn't a port when CM is a little more stable, I will see if I can port it over. It'll be the first time I'll be doing anything like this and I'd love to contribute to the Z2 in some way so it'll be great practice for me!
Is there any chance of seeing android lollipop custom ROM in our S2 i9100.

OK sorry for asking
Nice
Who knows ?
Let's wait until Google releases it to AOSP.... Hopefully some one will make at least a booting build for us.. HOPEFULLY
Also I am curious how the phone will perform with all these animations everywhere... HOPEFULLY -again- it performs well...
I am almost certain that Android Lollipop will arrive for our S II. Its such a great device and not outdated by any means ( Mali-400MP4 GPU - quad core gpu-think about it), but the concern may be the updated drivers, if i am correct. BUT the latest Android One smartphones also have a similar GPU (Mali-400), but i wonder if its the same, and hopefully the drivers can be backported to S II.
We're waitin' 4 ya, Lollipop!

How about a basic cm11 to start with.

That would beautiful if you ask me
I'd like to see any ROM options to tell you the truth. But most important to me is OTG+Charging. So any ROM that has that I'm super excited for.
Thanks for any ROM effort on our devices.
:highfive:
Oh man OTG would actually be perfect. ...and yah no problem I've ran a forum on the evo 3D and the LG g2 before and I cant wait to play around with the tab4.....learning is the best
You are right leaning is the best.
I would love some help wrapping my head around the ROM development process. Especially, if it helps our devices.
Is anyone capable and competent enough to help with development? I am willing to learn and pick things up fairly quickly if we start a project.
OTG is not supported by hardware, so I won't count on that feature. Blame Marvell
I'd love to see ANY custom ROM for SM-T230NU though... I got mine rooted, debloated and I have TWRP installed which flashes ZIPs, but I'm eagerly waiting for AOSP ROMs for this tab. It's gonna take some time because I heard there's no AOSP reference for PXA1088 board, which Tab 4 7.0" uses.
I think there are no other devices that use that particular Marvell SoC. That'a what makes it so hard to make a custom ROM.
Tab 3 7.0 had the previous gen Marvell Dual Core CPU and they waited almost a year to have CM11 at least booting up.
Crap

Just got a Tab 4 7.0 for my 3yr old son, and I hate TW on it. It's so so slow. Some CM or GPE roms would definitely bring this thing to life.
I'm going to need some help to compile cm for this device. I want to port candy kat to this device like other developers did on the samsung galaxy tab 3 7.0

No that will not work if you replace all the samsung apps with aosp apps that will give some fc conflicts etc... it is still a samsung based rom touchwiz is touchwiz nothing you can do about it an i would highly recommend not to change teh systemui you will get fc!
Ok sorry thought it would work.

Yes you need permission to share the download link for a ROM you didn't make, the proper course of action would have been to link to the thread of the ROM
