I uploaded HTC backup apk for anyone who may want or need it. For whatever reason my stock att rom didn't have it installed from att. Not sure why and the even bigger issue was when I searched the playstore it wouldn't show HTC backup, google search turned up nothing either... Extracted from viper/international rom
Install in system/app fix permissions
If that doesn't work may need to create a folder called HTCbackup in system/app then install the apk in the folder make sure the folder permission matches all other system/app folders permissions

Thank you so much for this post , I been looking for this.
Can I ask you for the stock caller ID app , and the stock build.pro
I also wonder , why the VVM Only works with the stock, or I'm pretty sure , there has to be one more step other than copying, pasting and changing permission. Don't you think
I'd really appreciate the apk , and build.pro
Thanks

Unfortunately I think you might have to install a different launcher like ADW or Launcher Pro to get this functionality. Doesn't seem to be possible with the stock launcher included in Cog.
You can replace the corresponding apps image with the one you want. I attached the icons for you. These are the steps I use, its pretty easy. Back up the contacts and mms apk before you do anything. They are located in the system/app folder. You will need root explorer or something similar with root access.
1) Maker a copy of the mms and contacts apk and transfer it to your computer
2) Use winzip or 7zip and decompile the app
3) Navigate to to the "res" folder and then to "drawable-hdpi"
4) Copy and paste or drop the new icon and copy over the old one.
5) Exit out of winzip or 7zip and transfer the apk with the new icon back to your phone's system/app folder and copy over the old one.
Let me know if you have any questions.
I stand corrected!
Thanks KayvinM

Hi! Today, i want to install FPSE on my galaxy sii, vut i have an error, look:

That say "You don't have enought memory!" But, look at that screenshot:
I have more than 400mb free to install apps! Why i'm getting this error now? This happen only with FPSE. Anyone getting this? Please, help-me!

Same problem, but not got a answer myself. Did you use lucky patcher to remove the license check while trying to play games? This is when it went wrong for me. Anyone with any advice please.
Push FPSE apk to /data/app and chmod 644.
Not sure what that means but it's the most help I've had with the issue, I will look into it and thanks for the quick response.
I mean copy FPSE apk file to /data/app and set rw-r--r-- permissions (using Root Explorer of course)
I now have the app installed but it now force closes on me but thanks for your help as I have searched for help for days now.
Actually, look in /data/app for all FPSE files. There will likely be a .apk, and a .odex file. If there are, delete them both, and try installing again. The existence of the .odex file is what usually causes this message when you have plenty of memory.

So I'll just leave this here.
*******INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS********
This is all assuming you know the basics of /system/app/ manipulation!!
Using a root file explorer, navigate to /system/app/
Find LGMms.apk and LGMms.odex
Append .bak to those files so they read:
LGMms.apk.bak
LGMms.odex.bak
Copy MMS.apk over to /system/app/ and set permissions rw-r-r--
Reboot and that's it!
This has only been tested on LGP769BK (T-mobile USA)

On a side note- I've been struggling to get the other apps to work that I have.
If anyone would like to use these apps and try to get them to work be my guest.
EDIT: I'd like to mention that all these apps were all AOSP apps. My concern is getting these to work on a Odex'd ROM like we have currently. I've tried pulling my whole /system/app/ and deodexing but that failed miserably. Regrettably my knowledge in that area is rather limited as I've been pampered by Nexus devices ><

I don't know which tool you used to deodex, but you probably need to change the bootclasspath to suit L9's stock apps. Bootclasspath specifies which framework files could be used by the apks. Some jars are included in the bootclasspath by default while others aren't, which explains why some apps deodex perfectly and others don't.
If you want to play it save include all framework files in the bootclasspath, because there is no punishment for including to many.

I didn't deodex anything, the apps I've provided are deodex'd and pulled from my old Galaxy Nexus which was. MMS and Email have worked fine for me- but nothing else.
I liked the MMS app but found a cooler app on the market called Sliding Messenger: http://goo.gl/SBTfD
This is a deodexed version of the SMS apk from CODIS 1.1.1. I modified nothing in it, I just wanted to have the features it provided with a different, deodexed ROM, so I deodexed it.
It has MMS Compression disabled along with color icon (like a mini version of the actual app's icon) for the notification icon, rather than the default flat one.
You'll need to install this manually, overwriting the current Message+PRIME.apk located in /system/app/ (or optionally renaming the current one with a .bak after the ".apk" and then just pasting the modified one from this post) and make sure permissions are correct. Then, Reboot.
Definitely not a bad idea to wipe cache and davlik, either.
I may make a flashable zip at some point, just thought I'd share this as-is for anyone interested.
Thanks to chingy51o for permission to drop this, and team Mik for a great ROM and the changes for this apk in particular.

First - Thank in advance for your help.
Second - I know I can use a free program for VM but I don't pay for the phone so I want to use the Verizon App.
I am trying to install the Vm apk and it will not install. The only error I get is "x Application not installed."
any ideas?
I tried moving it to the System\Apps folder and restarting it.
I also tried extracting the APK to the System\Apps folder and restarting it.

Check the APK you are using. I simply copy it to system/app and reboot. Yesterday on Hyperdrive I did have to do one extra step after the reboot. I had to then run it from system/app to get it to work. But it does. I am using Eclipse TW and it worked right after the reboot.
Do either of you have the APK for the Verizon VM?
I have the zip file from Titanium Backup I ran before I installed my ROM but I cant figure out how to get those files BACK into an APK?
When I go to try to restore from TB, it hangs along with a few other apps. So I exported it into a zip. I cant figure out how to make it work from there.
If anyone can help?
Thanks!
