I've made an overlay with big softkey aosp. The same used in Android L Preview. You have to manually place the apk in correct folder and then reboot.
Place it in: system/vendor/overlay
You need root to place the app in the overlay folder. I'm sorry that I don't know how to make a flashable file, maybe someone else can make it using this apk?
All credit goes to monx®. I used his apk and swapped out his keys to the bigger ones.
@monx® I hope it's OK that I share the apk here. All credit goes to you. I used your apk file. You could even see that the name of the apk has your name on it. I'm not a dev, only a senior android user. Thank you for your mod. If I have done something wrong and you want me to take the apk away, let me know and I'll remove it.

v2 has been posted. The only change is the ime button. When you write something and the keyboard pops up the back key changes. I've updated the changing key. So use v2 instead of my first.

Hi, I used to compile Aosp for Nexus devices but now moved to Xperia Z3. Based on above apk, I added the PS buttons which I used in my ROMs. I will add more pngs and share later...

Hi, I still added a few png's; here the com.android.systemui-res-ps-navbar.apk to push to system/vendor/overlay. All credit to Chris Hale for the PS softbuttons (https://plus.google.com/+chrishale/posts) for the softbuttons. Enjoy and feedback issues if any...nice Sunday
