Yesterday I got the OTA lollipop update which I installed straight away. Had a play around with it and everything seemed fine.... Until I tried to use Wi-Fi tether to my Z2 tablet. It says that my tablet is connected but I am unable to use the internet. I then tried factory resetting it to see if that solved the problem but still no internet. Then today my Z2 tablet got the update so I installed that hoping that it might sort out the tethering problem but it's still the same. My Z2 phone is a D6503 and I'm in the UK. Has anyone else had this problem?. Is there any solution?.
Thanks in advance
Scotty.
Same thing happened
I too have lost tethering between Z3 Compact and Tablet since the update.
Does anyone know what's going on? I tried with my laptop too but that won't tether to my phone.
I'm on Three UK network.
Enable USB debugging, connect USB.
Use ADB and enter
ADB Shell
tether_dun_required 0
Reboot device
This fixed it for me on Three!
Three
I'm on three network as well and have the same issue. It only seems to affect windows devices I can connect an iPod to it and get online. Looks like windows 8 can't find the DNS.
Thanks I will try this later.
Mine working fine

Hi,
I have a Vodafone 845, and I couldn't get connection with adb.
I'm using windows 7 32b. My device is recognized as android adaptar usb device (cdrom driver), I tried to update the driver to android_usb_driver.
Any suggestions?
I ran into the same issue, could not uninstall Microsofts driver.
Use adbWireless (some old version (works fine) is attached).
I have the same problem,
your wifi adb apk needs a rooted phone.. but the reason I need the SDK connected ADB to the phone is because I can't find a root solution for this phone, and want to take screenshots via the Android ADK, but it wont' connect.
ADB connection
I'm new here but i did find a way to fix that problem. Im using Windows 7 32 bit.
I just installed the PC suite that comes with the VF845 (when u plug in the phone through the USB cable) and ADB ends up working.
Pretty sure this also works on XP....
Hope this helps
I have search through the threads and have been unable to find a solution. So here is what I have.
Galaxy Tab 10.1 GT-P7510 WIFI only AT&T
4.2.2 (cm-10.1-20130614-NIGHTLY)
I have been unable to convince my tablet or computer to to accept a USB connection from my tablet to my computer. The computer won't charge my tablet or open the connection to transfer files.
Yes. I have done Settings/Storage/Top Right 3 Dots/USB computer connection/Media device (MTP) [Check],. when I do this it just becomes unchecked when I move out of the menu and back in.
Yes. My cable works just fine. I charge my tablet in an outlet just fine,. and I have tried a different cable with the same results.
Yes. My USB on my computer works just fine. It recognizes my Galaxy SII just fine.
Has anyone experienced this and if so what options or solutions do I have? If there are no solutions to remain on 4.2.2,. how can I revert back to 4.2.1 at this point?
Thank you for taking the time to read my post and respond!

To charge the tablet, you have to open terminal emulator or adb
Type su
Then: echo 1 > /sys/class/power_supply/battery/force_usb_charging
Now usb charging will work
I thought the MTP checkbox glitch was already gone? This problem occured several months back, i never had this issue since i never unchecked MTP, i think poeple flashed back to stock, checked the mtp box, and then back to cm10.1, then it was fixed, correct me if i'm wrong

If your pc wont recognize your tablet in download mode you have:
1. Not the right drivers installed
2. Your data cable has gone bad.
Your tablet should be recognised on your pc in download mode. Check if adb recognise your tab
You can find stock ROMs on sammobile.com

THANK YOU SO MUCH! THIS WORKS FOR MEEEE yipeee! God bless you!:good:
So my Nexus 4 had a faceoff with the driveway yesterday and the touch screen is dead. The phone seems to work fine otherwise. I was hoping to access my phone via USB to get a few files and read an unread SMS message. The problem is that for me to use any adb shell commands or USB debugging tools or anything, I need to be able to click on the authentication popup on the phone, which of course I cannot do. Is there any way to get around this? The device is rooted, and clockworkmod is installed, if that helps. USB debugging is also enabled. It's just the authentication I cant do. I'm also not afraid of command lines. I'll give anything a try.
The only idea I've found so far is maybe a USB OTG mouse, but I'd rather do it today from my computer than wait for an adapter to arrive in the mail. Any other suggestions?
Thanks
When my watch connects to any PC via cradle, it's never detected. On Windows, I get a USB device malfunction. On Linux, it's not even detected. Via Bluetooth, it's unauthorised. So I can't even do basic file transfers to my watch. Anyone have a clue what I can do to get this working?

I don't mean to insult, but do you have usb debugging enabled under the developer options and bluetooth debugging enable in the watch + app? If so, you might try an FDR on your watch (unpair with phone). I used a MacBook Pro when I unlocked the bootloader on my g watch thinking I was going to try Asteroid OS. I had just re-rooted my 6P using the Mac so I knew ADB/Fastboot was working on the computer. It wouldn't work initially and I knew the unlocking process was going to reset the watch either way. After the FDR everything started working again and I was able to unlock the bootloader. Don't know why but that helped me. Good luck.

You're perfectly fine, no insult taken.
Debugging is enabled on the watch with Bluetooth as well, debugging is enabled on the phone and in the companion app. I get an authorization error and never get promoted for key on the watch, and when plugged in I get a USB descriptor error. I tried using another dock, another USB cable, and another port, and had no luck. I factory reset several times but I just redid it, so I'll give it another go and see if I can get it to work.

I had this issue for the longest time, try copying your adb_keys.pub from the ./android folder (I know it's C:/Users/yourusername/.android on Windows, and I believe it's ~./android on macOS/OSX, but I don't have a Mac to verify) on your computer to /data/misc/adb/adb_keys on the watch. You may need to either be rooted or have TWRP, I can't remember for sure because I was already rooted when adb had stopped working for me

Have you tried to delete and update the drivers for the watch?
Hello,
I just found my old Samsung Galaxy Nexus phone and now want to secure at least the photos that are on it.
The phone itself seems to work, I installed a Custom ROM (ParanoidAndroid 3+) back then. My main problem now is that I of course forgot the unlock pattern and would like to know if there is any way to avoid or push the pattern? The other problem is, that my laptop does not recognize the phone since it is locked and in the only-charging mode I guess.
So my apporach would be to first manage that the laptop somehow recognize the smartphone, so then I can get access to it. I already saw some possiblities to push the pattern.
Do you have a little hint for me how to get my old photos from that phone?
Thanks a lot in advance!
Can you access the phone via ADB - what requires ADB got enabled on phone and ADB-driver is present on Windows PC?
I am not 100% if ADB is installed on the phone itself. However, since i installed a custom ROM, shouldnt ADB be activated?
I tried to access the phone via ADB already, but got stuck at the point where my laptop would not detect the phone (besides going into charge mode).
Maybe I should set up ADB once again, and try again!

Try to re-flash phone's Stock ROM.
BTW: ADB by default is part of any Android OS. Never heard it isn't so.
