Got a problem, especially when typing (with any keyboard) where the screen image suddenly boats up in size and any further typing or backspacing produces only gibberish. I can get it back to normal, temporarily, by tapping three times on the screen. Anyone ever see this happen?

what is the current OS version of your tablet? if it is 4.3, update it to 4.4.4... else you have to enable the hardware overlay in the dev options in settings.

I'm using 4.4.4. Never had the problem in earlier versions. Will enable HW overlays. Thanks.

See why I don't like them to be built into the ROM? These things change too fast.
Can this be installed to SD?
Sorry, no storage card version yet.
But keep a watch for it here

Not sure if this version is better than the last one. Still playing with it to find out.
edit: The display is a bit messed up in this version.
Does anyone else find this the case too on their Athena?
Eagle: What numbers are you liking for the adaptive zoom? Sorry I can't answer your question as I have never messed with these settings before. Also is yours rotating your screen after you close/minimize it?

I set the minimum overview zoom to 70 in earlier build, but 85 in more recent builds. The only purpose is to allow me to activate a link without zooming in.
Tried this build on my X7510. A few observations:
1. Screen rotates on shut down.
2. Couldn't use hardware keyboard. After each key stroke, the entire field was highlighted, which caused the next key stroke to over-write the one before.
3. Opera was not set as default browser.
I went back to build 1184. The first two issues made it unusable for me.

I'm back to 1184 also. Thanks for posting your test results.
Has anyone noticed a change in how the touchscreen behaves after installing ICS?
It seems to me that it is biased a little more towards interpreting a touch as swipe or scroll rather than select. For example clicking links in a webpage or tapping icons on the homescreen seem to require a much more deliberate effort to select/open. It's not awful, but I would like to be able to bias it back a little more to selecting rather than swiping.
Is there a setting for this anywhere or an app available that allows adjustment?
I would to know too.. I hate this..
But it's not just from latest ICS 4.0.3 International, the Beta version also suffer same thing.
Is HC not like this? (I upgraded to 4.0.3 Beta as soon as after bought Mediapad )
Yes, I noticed it also. When you turn on Settings - Developer options - Pointer location, it clearly shows how your clicks/dots becomes swipes/lines.
yes, you're right.. it sometime (most time ) cause texting experience not so fluid (letter not appear as it's detected as swipe not click).
got the same thing.. i've changed the launcher, so with the Apex launcher it's not that bad in the homescreens.. when i enabled the option to show "pointer location" i can see the "tap" as a line, or a "swipe" line :\
tried the same on my Galaxy S, and all the "taps" are only a small point.. it's much better than on the MediaPad.. i hope it's just a software issue and it can be solved..
maybe, we could try something like "screen booster" or "touchscreen booster" from the Market (Play)
Erratic screen while charging
The other thing I've noticed after ICS international is that the touchscreen is now erratic while charging and in a case. I believe this is a common problem with capacitive touchscreens, but hadn't noticed it until after flashing ICS. It is not an issue if I remove the pad from the case and hold it in my hand.
Anyone else seen this?
This sensitive touchscreen isn't Angry Birds friendly. Constantly shakes a little bit.
soooo.....is there any solutions?

Not unless huaweis coders tweak it or releases the source code.
Hi
Another problem... again... android... always some problem with it.
When i press "sym-au" key on phisical keyboard and scroll all the way down it freezes and stays there. It is possible to disable it, but it wont move, or clicking in any symbol has no effect completely unresponsive.
On virtual keyboard the same... blocking and unblocking device helps also restart. But its frustrating to remember about it. Is it any solution ? On stock rom there was no such problem.

Scroll the last part slowly (scroll it with your finger, don't fling it), it will stay responsive, if it does freeze, doing a rotation from landscape to portrait will make it respond again.

Thanks for tip. It helps.
So its known problem... this version of rom will be updated? Is there any way chance this will be fixed ?

NO, that ROM won't get any updates anymore, and the issue is present on just about all roms, apart from the original stock firmware. If it was easy to fix someone would have done that already, i guess, so i won't hold my breath.
Just think of it whenever you need something that's near the bottom, it's not that hard to live with.

I just wanted to have software completely bugs free if it was possible, your right its not hard to live with . Stock rom gave me more problems. thx bye.
I have a minor niggle but wonder if it's due to something I'm doing wrong. I have full backup's of my TA partition and flash custom and stock rom's as and when I choose. I just have an annoying issue when i turn my screen back on it shows garbage pixels on the screen and slowly draws the screen til the bottom and then flashes to a properly drawn screen. Can I remove it or learn to live with it?

My test device - that I picked up very cheep as it had been dropped and the SIM reader no longer works - displays the same issue, I had always assumed it was because of the fall it had.
Sorry if that doesn't help you
like this?

Exactly the same issue thanks
Same here but my phone is allways in case and i never dropped it. Oh and factory reset or flashing another ROM is not solution.
Any ideas?
I can only guess that either the RAM fills up with the screen off and once it starts to clear when the power button is pressed it suddenly can draw faster, or it's because the CPU and GPU clock down and slowly ramp up on wake. I'll change my performance settings see if that changes things?!
I've changed the settings in performance. So goto settings, performance, profile and select performance instead of balanced or power save. This seems to have sorted the re-draw issue on the lockscreen, any change I'll let you know. Now I just need to get a basic knowledge coding/cooking rom's and start delving further into android!!

So it's actually software problem right? Not damaged screen or something inside the phone.

mine is a hardware issue. you will see that it is currently on cm12 but it has done that on Stock, 4.4.x custom and 5.0 CM/AOSP as well. It will only do this if it hasn't be used for a few hours.
Hi Fellow XDA Members,
I am experiencing a bug (i think) on my Mate 10 Pro (BLA-L29 C636) ever since i updated to .138 (Face Unlock update).
When i'm on "split-screen mode", when i hit the "recent" button, the "other half" of the screen just goes to Home and not opening my recent apps window. This kinda frustrates me while doing multi-tasking since I need to scroll through all my apps and look for the one i need.
I already updated to the latest version, .139, but issue/bug still persists. I already did restore factory settings / wipe cache etc. But still not fixing it.
Maybe i'm missing something on settings?
Hopefully someone gets what i'm talking about and can help me.
Thank you in advance and good day!
It's not a bug, it's feature!

what do you mean by feature? that it doesn't do "recent app window" on the half of the split-screen mode??? Because on .119 update, it just works fine.
I know, as far as I know, they changed it.
I liked the former way more, too.

Damn. Did they post it on changelog or something?
Noticed also some weird stuff when watching YT in landscape mode, it automatically sets you to "vivid" color mode. Not a fan of it either. That's why i only set my device to "normal" color mode. It goes back though when you close YT app.
