AT&T M8 and UK LTE - AT&T HTC One (M8)

Just wanted to report that the M8 works on UK LTE frquencies. Bought a local SIM card from 3 and I was quite surprised to see LTE pop up. I was only expecting HSPA.
So if anyone's going to the UK, you don't have to miss out on LTE goodness.

A question regarding US GSM providers on the Photon

A few days ago I found out that T-Mobile's 3g won't work on the Photon (only their Edge service) after I'd already ordered 2 T-Mobile pre-paid SIMs. Yesterday I received my T-Mobile pre-paid SIM cards, and sure enough, it's like being back on dial-up.
When I go to StraightTalk's website to order a SIM card and put in my zip code, it tells me that it will send me an AT&T compatible SIM card. Here's my question: Since AT&T is also GSM, will I still be stuck with 2g speeds or will I be able to get 3g? I know that both AT&T and T-Mobile have good service where I live. (Sorry if this seems like a stupid question, but I've been on CDMA for almost a decade).
Thanks in advance!

Yes, you will get 3G data speeds. I have 3G data speeds that beat Sprint's 3G speeds.
Make sure to flash the KDDI radio before doing so or you won't get any results.
tmobile is unique in that they use 1700mhz for 3G (which isnt used by any other US carrier). The photon is a quad band (not penta band) phone and doesnt pick up 1700mhz frequency. Tmobile is making a transition to put 3G on 1900mhz so that it is more iphone friendly. Some locations in the US have already made that transition.
Thanks for the help guys. I guess I'll finish out this month on T-mobile then switch to straight talk.

[CLOSED][Q] International S3 in UK 4G?

I am talking about the United Kingdom so please don't mix up!
I got the International S3 unlocked 2 weeks back and I just got a contract with T-Mobile. Now I heard that 4G was coming to T-Mobile/Orange network and wondering will my international S3 be compatible with the 4G network?
Afraid not, you'll need the i9305 model which has the 4G chip + 2GB RAM, you'll have to get the one from EE as yours will not work with the 4G network.
Damn, waste of money then . Thanks anyways
The 4G speeds won't be that great either, 10-12Mbps according to EE and it will be limited to cities and has poor usage allowance, much better off going with Three on one of their AYCE plans with a regular S3.
I get 8Mbps down, 3Mbps upload on average with 2 bars signal and I am semi-rural

Will it work on T-Mobile's HSPA+

I want the 64gb version, will AT&T's HTC One work on T-Mobile's HSPA+ Network??? I get sick speeds on T-Mobile's HSPA+ Network, over 20mb down and 5mb up. After 6 oclock it gets faster. These are not just spiked speeds these are every day speeds all day. I hoping to hell that HTC somehow put T-Mobile's HSPA+ Network in AT&T's as well. Has anyone tried this yet.
Thanks, Vinny
I was told it won't but don't quote me on it I'm not 100 percent sure.
I too would like the answer to this.

Hmm... Good question. I bought both versions (temporarily) to test the two networks (att has tmo beat here in Austin). I'm gonna test switching the sims before i return the tmo one in a couple of days. I'll post the results then, if nobody beats me to it.

Please post your results, only issue the phone might have to be unlocked to work on the others Network, I think. Would love to get my hands on the 64gb version, pissed off T-Mobile just doesn't have it. May have to bite the bullet and buy the 32gb version but still hoping that AT&T's 64gb version is a go on T-Mobile's HSPA+ Network, I know the LTE will work OK it is just the HSPA+ Network that is in question.
Thanks
I just talked to the HTC tech support dept. today and they mentioned that although on their site, all the speeds are listed for the 64Gb developer edition, the phone will only work on 2G on T-Mobile's network! Yes, that was 2G, not 3G, not UMTS and of course not LTE. I just signed up with AT&T and I get nothing but dropped calls, disconnects, garbled voices, data drops or no data. That happens every day, quite a few times, at different hours of the day. I had wonderful luck with T-Mobile here in Orange County, CA before. I'm selling my HOX+ for an HTC One, but I'll stay with AT&T because of the penalty and the 2-year contract. It's not Europe here... Oh, well.

I can confirm. Att version will not work on Tmo HSPA+. It works on some bands (in some places), but not good enough to think about trying move one phone to the other carrier either way. The Tmo version works a little better on the Att network, but again doesn't support all the correct frequencies. I'm returning the Tmobile version and sticking with the Att one for the better network here in Austin.
HTC One having same network problems as HOX+

So, after selling the HOX+, I got 6 HTC One's thinking it might have been the phone. All 6 of them had the same network issues. So, it's AT&T in my area that has all those problems. I have confirmed with 2 of my friends and my wife and we all have similar problems. Does AT&T work in more than 5 US cities? Wow - nothing but problems. In any event, the HTC One's had crack problems and the On/Off button was very recessed and half of it was inoperable so I returned all of them!!!
I only have problems with att during and immediately after wicked storms.

Will the verizon m8 work on AT&T?

Hey guys I've been out if the loop, but will the verizon m8 work on AT&T especially with 4G LTE etc? Only reason I ask the verizon iPhone 5s's were unlocked and ATT 4G LTE worked fine on them.

It will work fine on HSPA and AWS LTE but it's lacking band 17 which is still almost exclusively what ATT uses for LTE across the country. The iPhone 5s/5c remains the only Verizon phone that can be legitimately taken to another carrier without any compromises.
I wonder as AT&T continues its rollout of carrier aggregation, if more Verizon phones will get access to AT&Ts networks in carrier aggregated markets.
I guess it all depends on which frequencies AT&T decides to bond, but I'm sure there will be more access to AWS frequencies on AT&Ts networks as carrier aggregation continues to expand.

Issue with Verizon S4 Prepaid build OH7 : i545ppvruaoh7 Please help

Hi there, i was able to get one of these from a local walmart for about $150 bucks, its a Verizon Prepaid samsung Galaxy S4 i545PP i545ppvruaoh7 is the build, and it comes with lolipop.
the reason why i bought is is because according to http://willmyphonework.net/
this phone was supposed to support 4G LTE Band4-AWS , but it does not!
it sure comes unlocked, i can put any sim card and i get signal, i get 2g, 3g, H, H+
I tried different sim cards and the best it can do is H+ on all of them.
I tried changing it to global, and also changing it to LTE GSM etc on the android menu but i have no luck.
Is there any way to enable the 4G on this phone? I live in a contry where all carriers use the same 3G and 4G that At&T uses. So here all At&T phones got 2g, 3g,and 4g out of the box. And i thought this verizon phone supported 4G Band4.

Are you sure ATT uses band 4 (AWS - 1700/2100) in your area? ATT uses a number of different LTE bands in different areas, and the Verizon S4 (prepaid or not) only supports band 4.
im sure my carrier uses same band as At&T, 100% positive that my carrier uses Band 4.
reason is because i also bought two other phones, a moto E At&T gophone and i unlocked it and i got 4G icon at first boot with the carrier here.
but verizon galaxy S4 prepaid is different, i canĀ“t get more than H+, i have never seen the 4G icon
and i dont think there is a hack for it to enable all bands
