Great to see you here @flar2
Is this based on the .15 source, or the .8, as with the old source, the dot view case doesn't act nice
Thanks man...

For international version only
This is a test, flash at your own risk. Let me know how it goes.
The main change is the elementalx governor, which will need further adaptation for this device. I also added many tweaks and optimizations, a few i/o schedulers, color control from @savoca and an option to disable the magnetic cover. Lots and lots more to come.

I need to learn about how it works and do some testing.

Hi flar2,
Thanks for your work and your great kernel, I use it at the m7/8 and my Nexus 6. I'm very happy to see you on my m9 .
I bought the ElementalX App and can't find it on the PlayStore, how I get the latest version of the App, with m9 support?

This will explain it:
https://plus.google.com/u/0/+AaronSegaert/posts/Wdp1kw7acDv
The app will return, with octacore support and other things.

That's anoying...
The day that Flar decides to release m9 kernel is the day a .17 OTA hits us...
So we have to wait for new kernel source again..
Great to see you back in action though Flar2...

no way you will have to wait for another source. the .17 update is a small update and kernels based on the .15 source will still work

There is a different boot.img included in the update though... but yeah, we'll never know what's changed till the source is released...

Now what the heck is NPR and WPR??
NPR Stands for No Power Restriction, this build has a custom Hotplug Algorithm which is Enabled by default, and gives you flexibility between the balance of Power Savings and Performance in mind. This build is aimed at users who are enthusiast and who wants to take charge of everything the phone does, Hotplug parameters are supplied so that it can give you the best options to tweak with your preferred settings.
WPR on the other hand stands for With Power Restriction, this build has stability in mind, this is driven by the default Qualcomm Hotplug Binary(mpdecision) and this does not have CPU Overclocking features as opposed to NPR builds having that feature, the kernel is intended for users who do not have time and knowledge to fiddle with settings that could balance Power Savings with Performance. Although this is using mpdecision binary for Hotplug, this build is still far better than stock in terms of Performance and Power Savings.

Currently for 4.4.2 when official sources for 4.4.3(not the dev edition) come out will make one..
For hotplug settings go check the faq from wiki page..let me know if you are satisfied..will also do an aosp and gpe..
Nice stuff i really like synapse is a amazing tool i hope update soon to 4.4.3 for test and please include wake gestures

Wake gestures are on the way..am writing it as i want to be a bit unique.. thanks!! and YES as soon as official sources come out i will do a 4.4.3..currently i seem to be hesitant about using the Dev edition kernel source..
@all
if you have questions don't hesitate to shoot..it will be added to the FAQ as well for future reference..also i would like to say that this project will be kept minimal/simple as i want a stable daily driver thats powerful enough and yet Mild when idle..
edit:
Oh BTW guys kindly wait for at least 20 seconds before playing with the phone on first boot..it takes 15 seconds(the least) before hotplug kicks in..else you end up with a race condition where cores refuse to be hotplugged..you need to restart if you encounter that..
long last! very interesting. Thank you.

If you have lag or instability issues do a full wipe/format (DATA, DALVIK, CACHE).

Booting hangs at the lg splash for a minute or so, so be patient.

Will you ever build your kernel for Canadian and American models?
Hi there and thanks
Ext-Card is not mounting for me. Running Cloudy Rom.
Coming from Navel, I Installed Xceed running Cloudy G3 2.5 (20P stock based ROM). Booted flawlessly without problems.. It is a pure stock kernel with minor modifications like OC which is stuck on the 2649 MHz clock speed! Couldn't lower the set OC frequency.. Performance is great due to the OC. Standard Governors, Schedulers and MP decision Hotplug.. Kcal support is there.. No UV support.. Battery life too early to judge.. Hope there are some Kernel and build.prop tweaks embedded..
Good work but more options could really add up to the value of this kernel.. And please fix the OC issue.. I use Kernel Auditor by the way.. Will update about any issues or problems later if any, but so far phone is ultra stable..
Thanks mate
P.S. External card mounted and working good.

Use only Synapse..the option to lower frequencies sticks there..also on my kernel you do not need to underclock..the Ondemand is intelligent enough to choose what frequencies to use on a given situation..for low load/simple tasks it won't even go above 2ghz..my kernel performs out of the box..it does not need attention, so you can enjoy your phones to the fullest..you can read reviews on my G2 kernel thread..
You guys are in for a huge treat with this kernel kairi is a kernel wizard!

[KERNEL][3.10.108][LA.BR.1.2.9][MM]Destiny kernel

Hello everyone, it's a pleasure for me to share this great kernel; this is focused on stability and battery life
My dream (since I bought this phone) has been to have a kernel that suits my needs, to have great features and a rock-solid stability
I put all my time and heart to get this awesome product.
Please read this thread carefully. I will try to do my best to help you if you do the same
I'm back at it again, wishing you a happy new year and with a shiny new kernel, with a LOT newer kernel base and with a LOT of unneeded crap removed, this project has taken me more than a year to polish and I'm still doing it, but I've reached a state where I think it can be tested by you. My second m4 has completely broken (because it fell down xD), so that's why I need you guys to test it and give me feedback.
I promise you that it this is a whole different experience, you won't have any random reboots or battery drains at all

Some notes:
THIS WILL WORK ONLY ON UNLOCKED BOOTLOADERS
For now I won't be adding features because I need to finish other things
About features:
Compiled with Linaro 4.9
Improved cpu frequency scaling, before it used to ramp like crazy, and now if you aren't doing anything it will stay at the lowest freq, you can use this app to check
I've also added a wifi module replacement procedure that will Always Work(TM), regardless if it has been screwed up by other custom kernels, so you won't need to worry about no wifi and/or moving the module manually
Latest upstream Linux kernel version 3.10.108
Optimizations from LineageOS (I've based my kernel on their kernel for the msm8916 family)
This kernel is based on the latest tag of the CAF branch for the msm8916 family on nougat (LA.BR.1.2.9), which has got a lot of security and stability patches compared to our ancient stock kernel base
Cubbins' kanuti_hwid driver for bands -> The stock kernel had a really crappy solution for the mobile bands of the world regions, so this awesome guy coded a driver for this!
Pure mdss driver + pcc adjustments
Pstore support
Latest sdfat opensource filesystem, replacing the ancient and closed source tuxera module
Usb HID keyboard/mouse support you can install this and you're good to go!
Refactored bmm050 magnetometer driver
bma2x2 accelerometer sensor driver from CAF -> The stock kernel had an extremely initial and ancient version of this driver, I've spent more than a month porting it to the improved and newer driver from CAF
A LOT of cleanups everywhere, most likely you won't get to understand the big amount of removed crap so I'd suggest you to check my source repo
To control the kernel:
Use Kernel Adiutor
Installation instructions:
Just go to recovery and flash the zip!
Enjoy :')

Just in case
Great! Now we can have more battery life
Hi @dani020110!
First and foremost, thanks for sharing your kernel!
After reading the mutha [email protected]#k'n thread, i did not yet find what features it does have.
You only state that we can't ask for unstable features.
Can you give us a spec list?
Thanks!
Oh and one more thing....no love for E2363?

If I recalled, he had some problems with Faux Sound Control (speaker suddenly became very very quiet) so he disabled it for now.

It is a unstable feature.
What about brightness control or just lowering the brightness a little bit?

I certainly did the right thing under the guidance and download the e2312. after flash your kernel, I restarted the sony logo But it has powered off and I've tried restarting but still did not fix the situation. I think that your kernel fails. wish you help me fix this soon

Hello everyone, this is my personal kernel for the OnePlus 5. While I am not a super star kernel developer, I do know my way around it. Hopefully you enjoy :highfive:
NOTE: This list fluctuates with versions, it will not always been 100% up to date
Here are the major features of the kernel (feel free to explore Github)
Based on GzR kernel
Up to date with the latest stable Linux version (4.4.159)
Up to date with the latest CAF branch (kernel.lnx.4.4.r27-rel)
Mainline patches from Linux, focusing on bug fixes/security
Mainline CFQ scheduler improvements
Several subsystems converted to use power efficient workqueues
Backlight dimmer
KCAL color control
CPU Input Boost driver
Devfreq Boost driver
Sound control
Wakelock control
Westwood as the default TCP algorithm
Built with the latest Google Clang 7.0.2 toolchain
Hides bootloader unlock from SafetyNet (can still fail through other means)
Disables dm-verity
Does NOT modify decryption status
Flashed with AnyKernel2 (thanks to @osm0sis)
Primary: https://androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=283181
Through TWRP:
If you are on a custom ROM:
If you are on the kernel that came with your ROM: flash the kernel zip and reboot
If you are on a custom kernel: dirty flash your ROM zip, flash the kernel zip, and reboot
Upgrading from one Reaper version to the other:
Just flash the kernel zip and reboot
1.1 Q: I am having an issue, can you help me?
1.1 A: I am not an amazing kernel developer but I will certainly try my best. First, start by reading the release posts, as I may make note of a particular issue. Also search the thread to see if I have discussed it before. If you see nothing, please provide me with a dmesg/last_kmsg and logcat, your ROM/kernel version, and a detailed description of the issue, following this guide. If I can't reproduce reliably, I'm not going to fix the issue.
1.2 Q: What ROMs are compatible with the custom builds?
1.2 A: My daily driver is GZOSP so I test all the builds on this ROM but this kernel should work on other pie ROMs. If you are using a ROM with no issues, let me know and I'll add it here! If you are having issues, following the above steps and I'll attempt to fix whatever incompatibility there is. If I can't do it without breaking GZOSP compatibility, you're out of luck.
1.3 Q: Can you add xyz feature?
1.3 A: If you link me the commits or tell me what kernel you had the feature in, I can take a look at them. I will not go digging super hard for commits and I will ignore requests that don't include this information. I won't promise that I will merge every request but I will always take it into consideration.
1.4 Q: How do I control the kernel?
1.4 A: I want to be very clear: the kernel does NOT need to be tuned to be useful. Most of the improvements are under the hood and don't require any user intervention to take advantage of them. In fact, if you don't know what you are doing, you could degrade the experience. To control the user visible features of the kernel listed above, I recommend using @flar2's EX Kernel Manager.
1.5 Q: OMFG MY BATTERY SUXXXX PLS FIX!!!
1.5 A: The kernel doesn't drain any battery, use an app like BetterBatteryStats to figure out what app is screwing with your phone.
The various other developers for their patches
@martinusbe, @nathanchane for their work on GzR kernel
@nathanchance for android-linux-stable organization, thread inspiration, patches, tips and for inspiring me to start kernel development
@KuranKaname for helping me with kernel and being a bro
@nychitman1 for him work on DU kernel (lots of patches are inspired from him work)
@mady51 for introducing me in kernel development
@osm0sis for AnyKernel2
@akhilnarang for him modified AnyKernel2 for OP5, help and patches for my kernel
All of you guys for viewing the thread
