Having some issues with the current ron on my phone.. some time ago I loaded miui.us 2.22.17 to my phone followed by siyah 2.3 and all was great in the world.
updated both rom and kernel and now my phone is a nightmare!
In on 2.22.30 miui.us with siyah 2.13 and my phone freezes constantly and gets really really hot.after a battery pull and reboot - the battery looses 900mah and all my Google services force close.. have made no changes beyond updating the ron and the kernel..
Additionally, Im wondering if something is wrong with the ron as battery consumption while on standby with Wi-Fi is on triples even when display is dimmed and background data as well as auto sync are turned off and the phone is in airplane mode. I thought battery calibration would solve this but hasn't changed a thing.. even while the phone is plugged in to charge the battery's draining (not charging) as long as Wi-Fi is on! Tested with 3 different chargers..
can anyone tell me what I can do to get these problems solved? Is flashing back to a Sammy based rom the only thing I can do?

So I'm on stock 4.0.3 now (kernel 3.0.15-I9100XXLPQ). Everything was fine right after the update. But a few days later my phone started to use more battery than it had used: I'd used to have around 60-65% of battery after coming to home from school, but a few days after the update I had like 40%. Also, sometimes I was not getting incoming calls and text messages, despite the fact that the signal bar (sorry, I don't know how you call it in English) was full.
I looked through the threads on xda forums and one guy suggested cleaning the micro USB port. His theory actually made sense for me, so I cleaned my micro USB port. I also installed CPU Spy to check if the phone uses the deep sleep mode.
Today I woke up and after 4 hours I got 91% of battery life. 'Hell yeah, problem solved', I thought. But suddenly the battery drain started again. I asked my friend to call me. He couldn't, because apparently I had no signal, but the signal bar had also been full.
Look at the screenshot. '1' is where the battery started leaking. '2' is where I rebooted my phone. After the reboot everything is fine, but I think this problem will appear again shortly.
These battery drains and losing the signal are really annoying, one night the battery dropped from 50% to 30% in 2 hours without even touching the phone (with WiFi, data transfer, GPS and Bluetooth off). What causes these problems? Can it be related with this bug in ICS?
The thing is that even Samsung hasnt been able to do a proper release as GB. GB stock rom had quite a solid battery life...Many people have seen massive battery drains and in most of the roms phone doesnt go into deep sleep. Hence causing of a lot of battery consumption.Id suggest not to use stock samsung rom and shift to a custom rom or downgrading to GB. I myself have read a lot of threads with the same problem that you are having.
I'll shift to CM9 as soon as these issues with recording and watching videos will be solved.
I can understand the battery drain, but I completely don't know why there's a problem with the signal. It's not that my phone doesn't go to the deep sleep at all. It just glitches at a certain time and the battery leaks and the signal is "lost".
I'll check tommorow if the phone really doesn't go into the deep sleep when the battery is leaking and nobody can call to me.
Bump, because the problem with the signal is really annoying.
I am thinking that its possible that all these poor battery and ICS posts are maybe that the users have not flashed firmware for the phone but rather generic stock some other providers firmware .
As i said only a thought as the majority are not direct firmware updates .
I would be running Better Battery Stats to find the drain anyway .

It's been two or three days since I did the factory reset. Now I'd say that battery got better, but the problem with the signal still occurs.
Which mobile operator are you with?
Plus GSM, I'm from Poland, my Galaxy S II is the international version of course.
Okay, I've installed CM9 on my phone, but this problem still occurs (altough now the screen uses much less battery, due to CM9's better brightness managing).
I'll explain it once again, because now I can describe my problem more accurately:
SGS II shows that I have signal, however, I can't receive calls and text messages. While it's happening, the battery life is dropping a lot faster. By "a lot" I mean 5% in 10-30 minutes when I'm not doing anything at all.
This started happening a few days after update to ICS. What should I do now? Install a modem from GB?
Yes start experimenting with older modems i would look to the last working GB modem you had .
Also some are reporting the later ICS is better than earlier releases .

How do I find out what version of modem I had before?
I am using XOLO Q100i mobile which i purchased two months back. Initially it was having android 4.2.2. Last week I got update for 4.4.2 and since then I am facing this battery problem where, the battery percentage remains constant for long period time and after that it rapidly drops to 0 and switches off.
I am facing this problem only after I had updated it to 4.4.2 (it was system update, i didn't do it manually)
One example case is, even after using browser with 3G internet for 30 mins, the battery remains at same percentage.
Yesterday I even did factory data reset but still this problem is persisting.
Any solution for this problem?.

just curious if anyone else has this issue. ive been on lollipop 5.0.2 for awhile most recently on eXistenZ and i have had this really annoying issue with all the lollipop builds out there where the battery charges to 82% to 92% give or take and then the screen turns on and the battery charging icon flickers on and off which then keeps the screen on so wont charge to 100%.
i quickly tried (30 mins) PureX 5.1.1 rom and i might have the same issue because it flickers on the charge icon a few times then carried on as normal couldn't really test it as i need a working phone for the rest of the day.
I rolled it back to kitkat today and the issue is gone. i thought it was a fault with the battery but i changed that out for a brand new one also im using the original charger and cable so its not that.
if anyone has had this issue let me know please

If ur problem solved with kitkat means it should be with Lolipop then. But the bug u mentioned is not in my rom. I am always charging from 0% to 100% without any problems..
So did u flashed any stock lolipop ftf? Try it and see...
Its definitely a lollipop issue was reading in to it and a few other people have the issue with it most on Sony phones one post mentioned it something to do with battery saving stopping it charging past 95% but cant find anything else about it. Ill still keep looking as its bugging the hell out of me
But I will most likely stick with kitkat never had any issues with it and my battery life is bearly twice as long

First, I just moved from a stock OS 4.4.2 in my Samsung S5 Us cellular G900R to an CM 13 Nightly build. Everything looks fine and the performance is just amazing. But I only have one slight problem. The Battery
The battery is draining when it's idle. I had fully charged it last night and when I woke up this morning it was 91%. Literally, it was doing nothing. And when I slightly using my apps such as WhatsApp and similar things it will deteriorate in a fast pace.
I heard that flashing a custom kernel fixed the problem for numerous users. I'm considering doing that, but I have another problem. I can't find any
Can anybody help me out? I mean generally with the battery stuff?
Note: I'm aware of the app hog problem that may occur from some misbehaving apps but that's not the problem. I'm monitoring the behavior of the apps from the system menu and by BetterStats Battery. Also I turned off the sync option and also the WiFi always on is turned off.
