Bootloop after factory reset - Galaxy S6 Edge Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi im really panicking here my phone has been rooted for days but for some reason whenever i pressed battery in the menu it would shut down settings and report an error so i just did a factory reset using stock bootloads (not twrp or anything) and now it gets to installing apps like kind, resets and repeats. i have tried clearing cache and all that.

Yea, Happening to me too now. After I returned to stock using ODIN it booted fine the first time but after i re installed TWRP and Root, I have the boot-loop, So i tried restoring ODIN again. But only after the first boot it showings Optimizing Apps... Then bootloops from then on..
So with stock recovery, I had to wipe data and reset and i finally got back up as if was out of box
Here is the "Stock Firmware" flashed using ODIN 3.10.6
http://stockroms.net/file/GalaxyS6Edge/SM-G925T/SM-G925T_1_20150327095252_d1ygbqk7km.zip

Wow this forum is very helpful when in need
I googled for stock firmware for my carrier and flashed that with odin and everything is as it should be. I was panicking because i didnt think o2 uk would even be on the internet.
For anyone who has a problem with settings crashing when you try to enter battery do not system restore, i found the cause and its because i was freezing smart manager with titanium backup. Strange but now defrosted everything is working as it should.

[Q] LGMDP Fails to Restore NV

I've previously used LGMDP to install clockworkmod and haven't had any problems. I upgraded to V20g using LG's update utility and that's been fine, though it's T_Mobile branded. I've tried to install the unbranded European V20e through LGMDP and that's where the problems started.
At the end of the V20e flash, I got errors when it tried the NV restore. Items 1 to 158 have a status of NV_FAIL_S. After that, the phone won't boot. It gets stuck on the Android boot animation.
I've tried NV Restore with previous backups that I know have been OK before, but it still fails the same way.
If I use LGMDP to flash T-Mobile V20g, then flash clockworkmod (still getting NV errors), I can run clockwordmod & restore my backup from before I started this. After that, the phone boots & seems normal. I've got a signal, anyway.
I'm still a bit worried that something isn't right, though. It still refuses to restore the NV. I've tried going back to V10g using LGMDP and it fails to restore the NVs and the phone won't boot.
So, has clockworkmod restored everything I need and is there any way to fix this so I can use LGMDP again?
I think I've resolved this now, so I'll post what I've done in case anyone finds this in a search.
I already had a V20g KDZ file for my provider, which I got by following the instructions here. I looked for an alternative flash app and found details of KDZ Updater here.
V20g flashed successfully with that software. After that, I've tried LGMDP again and can do an NV Restore with no errors now, so things look like they're back to normal.
I still can't flash V20e with this software, though, I still get stuck on the Android boot animation.
I had changed baseband 3-4 times. In last 3 attempts, I also got these errors. But my phone rebooted normally after these errors. I had fully working phones in all the cases. Don't know why there were errors?
Same thing here. Hundred something NV_FAIL_S errors but phone seems ok though.
You have to do factory reset after flashing new ROMs.
This may solve bootloop.

ive never heard of this one before. isnt it just wipe cache, dalvik cache, etc, in recovery?
I decided to try again with V20e but used the kdz file and KDZ Updater this time. Same thing happened, stuck on Android boot animation.
So I put clockwork on, wiped cache & dalvik, tried again, same problem. Reboot into clockwork, factory reset, reboot, same problem. Finally, I booted into clockwork, went to Advanced and Fix Permissions. After that it booted fine.
While installing clockwork through LGMDP I didn't get any errors. I've also tried an NV Restore with no problems. No idea what went wrong the first time.

[Q] Won't boot, worked fine, then bootloop, now it freezes (using CM9 ICS Nightly)

Hi Friends,
Model Number - GT-P7510
I recently rooted and installed the CM9 ICS nightly rom using the noob video instructions (This included rooting with Odin, installing CMW recovery 4.0.0.4, then I flashed the ROM cm-9-20120624 Nightly and finally flashed GAPPS-ics).
I over clocked using the CM9 settings and everything worked perfectly for about a week, it was great. Then it just crashed while I was reading my email and began to bootloop. After reading for similar errors I rebooted to recovery and tried wiped the cache and dalvic cache, I wiped data and factory reset several times but nothing worked, always the same bootloop. I re flashed the same ROM and still nothing, after a while the boot screen would simply freeze instead of bootloop.
Then I connected to my PC, and did this to no avail. In fact it simply added to the problem by adding a yellow warning triangle while attempting to boot so I did the Oden thing again like the first time I rooted however I installed CMW version 5.5.0.4 instead thinking it might help but it hasn't.
One last point, when I attempt to wipe data/factory reset the tablet seems to freeze and attempt to reboot rather than say something like "success" as it would during a cache wipe. This maybe normal or it maybe the problem! who knows?
On that point, I would be very grateful if some of you could help get me to the point when my PC recognises the tablet so I can reflash a new ROM.
Thanks in advance,
Karl
I once got the same problem. The only thing that helped was to flash back the stock rom via Odin with the pit file. And don't forget to do a hard reset after flashing the rom. I'll just stick to the stock rom until the official update is getting released.

I think the best way is still to do factory reset, go back to the stock ROM first and try custom HC ROM until the official ICS is released.

ATT I777 Boot Loop. Factory rest not working

Hi,
I need help!!
I have been loading custom ROM's using CWM occasionally and yesterday when I tried to flash CM9 ROM my ATT S2 got stuck at boot screen. Then I tried to do a factory reset. Doing factory reset got me stuck at "Formatting Data" and it never moved from there for 1 hr then the phone started booting again. Ever since then I am not able to boot back. I have tried all possible options - every time I try I get stuck at Formatting /data. I tried installing Siyah-v2.6.14-att vis ODIN and tried to restore from my back up. It failed saying "Error while restoring / Data!". I installed factory stock rom via ODIN still the same. I tried wiping the data using darkside super wipe it too got stuck Formatting Data and nothing happened.
Is my data corrupted? I dont know what to do. Can some one please help? Should I try re-partitioning? I am bit scared to do that.

there are chances of the data partition getting corrupted... try flashing back to stock rom...

Phone does not get past bootlogo

I am afraid that my phone is dead. I had custom Rom on it, Portal rom, I decided to try the Simplistic rom, but it didn't work very well. I reflashed Portal from CWM, but I get an error message at boot saying "messaging has stopped", there's no signal on the network either. I tried to reflash, but the same thing happened. I wiped and did a factory reset. Same thing.
I then flashed Simplistic again and it works. I just don't like it. Another try on Portal and Alliance both fails, the "phone" does not start and shows no bars. Simplistic once again boots.
I then decided to go back to stock and downloaded the latest stock ROM for Nordic Countries and flashed it with Odin. All went seemingly ok, and I rebooted. It hangs at the bootlogo and never gets passed.
I then flashed cf-kernel to gain access to cwm and tried portal again. This time that also hangs at bootlogo.
So what to do? What can I try to get my phone to boot again?
Edit: I tried to flash Simplistic again and that still boots fine. So wtf?? If I didn't know any better it would seem that Simplistic rom as done/installed something so that the phone now only works with that...
Help anyone?

In your own case, when you want to flash either portal or alliance ROM, follow these steps:
- boot to CWM recovery
- wipe data / factory reset
- wipe dalvik cache (under advanced)
- format /system (under mount and storage)
- flash ROM ( alliance or portal)
- fix permissions (under Advanced)
- reboot phone.
Ps: the reason why your phone did not boot after flashing via Odin was because you did not perform a factory reset in recovery after flashing

Bricked Samung Tab E Verizon

Hi all,
Sigh. So it looks like I bricked my Samsung Tab E Verizon. I rooted it with King root and when I removed it, it is now in a endless boot loop. I've tried all sorts of things to try and recover it.
I used SkipSoft to set it up to be flashed but odin fails everytime. I was using the new ROMS found on this Forum. I've tried putting it into download mode and manually flash it and that didn't work. I can't Re-Root it as it won't stay on long enough to Root and they always fail. Right now I'm at a loss.
Can anyone help?
Thanks.
Do you have custom recovery or default? if you have default you can hold the home button and vol up button then the power button to get into recovery, once your done with that you can wipe cache and reboot, if that STILL does not work then factory reset your phone and re wipe cache, i know losing data sucks but its better then a brick. (this will work 99% of the time because the default recovery automatically re-installs stock rom)
If you have a custom recovery, then i recommend wiping everything including dalvik cache etc, making sure EVERYTHING is squeakly clean (execpt recovery obviously) , and find the driver for your samsung phone and download it on your computer and install, once you are done with that, put your phone into download mode, find your original STOCK rom for your phone, download it and flash it with odin, from there IF successfull you should have a fresh boot of your stock rom, then you can re-root and go on with your day.
Also make sure once you re-gain root access backup your rom so you will always have a plan b if everything goes bad. i cannot recommend this enough, even if you are an expert with flashing, there is always that small percentage things will go wrong and you should always have that backup ready.
Hi!
Thank you very much for the reply. You know, that was one of the things i tried initially when it happened. When I tried it, it wouldn't go into recovery mode. I then went on the odyssey of hell in trying to recover it.
When I read your post I was thinking; "Yeah I tried that", but then I thought I would give it another shot. I went into Factory Reset, it then actually went into the recovery menu. I deleted the cache and set it to data/factory reset and it's still looping. I get an error saying; "E:failed to mount /preload (no such directory)". I then tried to run update from external storage and it's telling me that it's disabled. I tried to update from ADB and it's disabled. I tried to apply from cache and it says; "APPLY_CACHE is depreciated". It's still looping.
Urghhhhhhhhh.......
