Hi, I bought an ATT Unlocked D800 LG G2. I am using it on the MetroPCS network and all features work. I have 4G LTE working well. I dont want the ATT Firmware on it. Is there a way I can install the MetroPCS Firmware on it? or Tmobile Firmware? I want to do this so I ca get the WiFi calling feature and other MetroPCS apps that are not on the ATT Firmware.
I have the LG flash tool installed but when I try to flash my G2 D800 with the Tmobile D801 Firmware it gives me an error. Ive been reading everywhere but cant find an answer. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks G..

Sorry to ask but, how did you manage to get 4G LTE from Metro on your D800? I am about to purchase an unlocked secondhand one but I want to make sure I will get 4G speeds with my current plan ($40 Most Affordable).

Check out my thread it has options for all of the systems avaible for our device: http://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-lg-g3/general/how-to-gsm-unlock-t2961099
Just know that if you go to T-Mobile you will not get LTE only H+ and down. Our device does not support any of the the bands T-Mobile uses for LTE. If you have anymore questions PM me I will be more then happy to help.
unlocking sprint g3
will that method work wit the LS990 Running Rooted Lolipop 5.0.1? it's ZV8 btw.
Hey guys I bought this Verizon G3 for a friend he wants to give it to his family in Europe.
I downgraded to 23C so far and want to install TWRP etc. On T-Mobile G3 it's much easier as just rooting and using TWRP manager and flashing whatever I want.
Anyways after I flash TWRP I can use any rom I want ? or the rom has to be specific for bootloader for example? on T-Mobile G3 I could flash pretty much any rom but one stock where I needed to flash modem+bootloader, then it worked fine.
Also if it safe to unlock the LTE bands? since the phone would be used in Europe that would be very nice to have European LTE bands.
Thanks!
Hi, could I flash the t-mobile firmware file or rom to the verizon lg g5? I switched to t-mobile, and am able to use the verizon phone, but lte drops to 3g for calls and lots of the time data shows up as hspa when I check the icon. If it can be done, please explain how. Thanks in advance.
No you can't flash the T Mobile firmware.
other firmwares beeing flashed on different lg g5's
So, there is no way to flash different firmwares on the verizon model, just other ones. Is this because the bootloader is locked? How can people flash a different region firmware on some of the models?
I to am curious on this, i have called LG and was told that the only difference between the T-Mobile and the Verizon LG G5, was software based, and that their was no hardware differences at all.
If that is true, why would we not be able to flash the T-Mobile rom onto our verizon phone?
DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS OR YOU WILL BRICK YOUR PHONE BEYOND ANY REPAIR. It has been said MANY times before, google it first

The hardware is essentially different... Has nothing to do with locked bootloader, u could still use LGUP to flash regardless but it would likely brick your phone. Drops to 3g because of the bands used, there may be a workaround but it's unlikely.
I'm stuck with this device so I just need to repair it with help.
This is the problem:
I have BRIGHTPOINT 10h and I can't get LTE like many have reported.
I can't unlock the bootloader, I went to LG developer site and entered everything and was denied saying my rs988 isn't supported.
I don't and can't get root.
I want to get non BRIGHTPOINT software to fix my LTE. How can I flash software 11a-d or 21a or 21b without a unlocked bootloader or root??
Am I stuck with 10h??
I have the same issue with Cricket Wireless on AT&T network. Mine stopped getting LTE signal since Android 7.0 update.

i have the t-mo h830 variant but maybe will be the same for you with RS988
I don't know how to flash a rom if I can't get root or a unlocked bootloader...

Only for the RS-988 which were not sold through carriers. I have an RS-988 that was originally sold by Bluegrass Cellular, and 11c is as far as it goes. We need the later versions in order to be able to boot into recovery, and you can't unlock the bootloader and root unless you can boot into recovery.
It really sucks, the whole reason I bought the "carrier-free" 988 instead of the Verizon 987 was that I figured it would be much easier to root and install custom ROMs on it. Now we're stuck on an outdated version even though there are several versions later would could be running.
1. does lg g8x sprint unlocked support tmobile volte?
2. can we cross flash lg g8x sprint unlocked with lg g8x USA unlocked variant?

1. The hardware and software support VoLTE. Whether or not you can get the proper T-Mobile IMS settings programmed onto your Sprint G8X is a totally different story.
2. I suspect that by using a jig such as Octoplus it would be doable. Or even using the modded version of LG Up, so long aa you have the proper KDZ file. Until someone manages to unlock the bootloader and we can have at this phone we wont know for sure. What model is your G8X?
Now that we have bootloader unlocked .. is the sprint g8x a good option for TMobile?

I would also also like to know. Probably should have done the research a week ago, but I bought an unlocked Sprint G8X to use on a T-Mobile MVNO and just recently learned that it'll need VoLTE for voice calls to work after the 3G shutdown. Ugh.

Hello jdapp,
I was able to get VoLTE AND VoWIFI on Mint (T-mobile) with these instructions. I also posted what I did on Post 50. The files work for firmware 20 but if you need the ones for firmware 30 let me know.
