I don't have the priv-app folder but if your kindle can still boot follow directions http://forum.xda-developers.com/kindle-fire-hdx/general/rollback-13-3-2-8-rollback-ota-captured-t3046204 in this post to down grade to 13.3.2.8 then upgrade back to 14.4.5.2 just remember to back up your data as it will be erased.

Hi all.
I'm trying to copy some files to the system partition after enabling write on read-only partitions and remounting it and everything is success, but when I restart the phone, files get deleted and partition back to original. I tried ES file explore and Total Commander.
Galaxy S2, cMIUI 2.10 JB
Hmm.. seems like a hard question!

Hey,
no not a hard question but a bit confusing
So the copy to system works without probs?
Do u have root-enabled on it?
U can try Solid explorer once, too, to be sure.
CHEERS
I enabled root explorer and I mounted the file system to be writable, yes I have a rooted phone.
I can copy to system root folders anything (media files), the files stay there until I reboot the phone then they disappear, they get deleted maybe? how to disable that?
Thanks

That listen like u have to save changes?!
Pls try the Solid explorer (for me the best explorer ever)
Copy files and have a look for root-acces request (should be asked for Solid, if it's new)
The copy/replace the file.
CHEERS
Thanks Hannibal for reply, I got no luck on doing it, they still get removed after reboot. Is there a way to flash these files that I want to copy to system as an update.zip?

Sure there's a way, but I can't help u with it, sorry.
With new Titanium Backup u can create flashable .zips but for sure only from isntalled apps.
Maybe u have a look at google. I remind for a tool which u just say what u wanna flash an it creates the flashable .zip.
Much success....
CHEERS
Edit: Sorry but couldn't answer u yesterday.

This is development. Not general section.
Anyway, download your stock Rom from the link in my signature. Then look in the development section for the tool to decrypt your own Rom then use ext2explore to extract system.img
Or give us more detail off model etc
Further more back up files before modding them

it takes too much time ..
Use this: http://caftp.3owl.com/File_Upload_Admin/Files/build.prop
It will be in there temporarily so tell me when you have got the file or I will delete it at some point.
You may want to modify it since my device was in the UK and it is using release5a.
Next time try creating a backup, it uses your time for a reason.
If you want to backup in /system/ then you can copy the file in the directory renamed so you can just remove a character or something from the backup file to get it in use also you do need to delete the failed one or if you don't have one then find a way to get in and do it but you can't use ADB in recovery unless you have the release1a recovery.
If I did backup, my device is soft bricked, rooted and have such recovery then what I would do is:
cd /system/
su
rm build.prop
mv build.prop.bak build.prop
EDIT: You have till the 25th before the file gets removed from my website.

Simple.
Just open the zip file you flashed and see what all files it installed (or changed). Delete the corresponding installed files from your system folder using a Root Explorer (or move them away). If files have been modified, you will have to get the stock versions of those files (extract from stock ROM). :good:
Sometimes, mods that are flashed contains scripts that backup system files before modifying them. In such cases, its easy to restore the previous files.
Dears,
I've received the OTA_T6_UL_K44_SENSE55_MR_HTC_Europe_2.61.401.3-1.54.401.1_release update, and integrated it with my ROM, and I backed it up via TWRP recovery (System/Boot)
if you want to try it , your MAX must be GSM ,it is fully functional, and stock /unrooted and without any modifications.
And it requires few simple step to install it :
1- download the file ( https://www.dropbox.com/s/r1yctvgu68jxomh/2014-03-26--18-11-42 KOT49H release-keys.zip )
2- Extract it
3- Put it in TWRP backup folder on your SDcard ( TWRP/BACKUP/FA3NK..../
4- Full wipe/ format system/ clear cache /
5- Restore
6- Enjoy!

2nd problem
Dear uploader, I have installed this Rom the way you guided but problem is about platform.xml .. when I used other kit Kat custom Rom I edited permission for write external sd card but this Rom when I changed platform.xml it changes for a while but after restart it came back to default. It is rooted everything working but file doesn't change and I can't write anything on sdcard.

make a backup of your own rom.
check sd card
there is a folder... i think twrp
in there there will be a backup folder
in there, there will be another one... pretty cryptic ... for me its something like DHSFSFS01
in there there is your backup... you can delete it if you want or keep it
copy the folder of the rom from this thread to DHSFSFS01 or what its called on your phone...
now back in recovery you can restore both... your rom and the one you downloaded

That means the system partition is write protected.
You will need to edit the file and flash it in recovery for the changes to take.

Hi,
i have a mediapad x1 4G ( honor x1 ) from HK with rom 7d-503lv100r001c233b006
i have by error deleted mail.app with titanium backup
could someone post the original mail application ( probably email.app ) ?
Files from the 3G version
The zip file contains two files: Email.apk and Email.odex. They are pulled from my MediaPad X1 3G. I do not think they are different from the 4G version, but use them at your own discretion.

thank's for the files,
but it won't install
i try to simply execute email.apk, it try to install but fail
i put them to /data/app , but how to launch it ?
can you put email app backup from titaniumbackup ? , i ll think it can restore with this.
After you move them to data/app you may have to set permissions on them... try "chmod 777" on the files...
Then reboot...
