Has anyone found a way? I hate using the standard messaging
We'll probably have to wait for Google to hook into the edge api. I was hoping for the same thing out of box.

Use Anycut from Google Play. Run and do a New Activity. Find SIP in the list.
It'll create a shortcut to SIP, then you can run. As it's not implemented by defauilt in your system it may not work, but worth you try it.
Cheers

In proper, full ICS releases (like on the GNexus for example) SIP Accounts are available on the Phone native app.
On the Razor, there is no such thing working yet. Either leaks are not fully final, or Motorola is being retarded, so you have to use 3rd party apps.

Can someone make a flashable zip with the cm 10 sms app and whatever else is needed to make it work on the stock rom. I tried installing it to system/app, but it crases when sending an mms.... also the black theme built into it didnt work. I hate the fact that the stock sms app sends out slideshows instead of pictures.
It could require a mod of the framework. What do you like about the cm10 msg app and maybe there's an msg app on Google play that someone could suggest.

It requires considerable modding of framework, yes.
Unless you use the ICS messaging app.

By ics message app, are you refering to the one that was included in the factory build of ics? I just want to be able to send mms without sending the images as a slideshow. I was looking at the comments for go messenger and people seemed to have trouble with mms in that app. I figured I would be better off trying to get an oem app.

This works on beans, which is basically stock.

JB messaging app should work too on Beans. I modded the framework for him and assume he added it in.

Did they get rid of GTalk and integrate it with Voice? I haven't use it on my phone for a while so didn't realize that it wasn't on play any longer. What's the deal? What are we supposed to use? Other than third party app...

Well the launcher is pretty laggy for. E, but everything else I've tried seems to work fine. US Wifi only model, not rooted, if that helps anyone

Actually there is both an "email" and "gmail" download available from the system dump of a nexus 5 (not a Samsung device). I was clarifying that he was referring to email and not gmail

Yes and the one I was talking about is the google mail application. Not Gmail and not the Samsung one
I've seen a few reports of people in the Note 3 section having problems with video chat in Hangouts with the new apk besides having mms issues. I haven't had the chance to test the video chat on it to confirm.

MMS does not work for sure. I don't know if it is even an option to begin with on this tablet (being WiFi only) but it dies not work on my S4. I haven't tried video chat on either

I'm sorry for the confusion with what i said in my post...I wasn't stating that there is an MMS option when in installed on the 10.1. I was just merely stating that there are a few issues with the app in general right now.

No I understood you were taking about MMS with the Note 3.
However, i personally installed to see if the MMS option existed on the note 10.1 and if it did, would it work over WiFi. It isn't even an option.

Use Mighty text and send texts, it will reroute them so it comes from your phone.

This is my current setup as well for sending texts from my pc, but I use mysms. It's always just been a little more reliable for me. Does anybody know if the new hangouts, which does sms on android now, supports/will support this functionality? I installed the new apk on my phone and received my sms through it. But I didn't see any text messages in gmail. I don't have an android tablet (yet) to test the hangouts app there.
For now I have disabled SMS in hangouts again, as it was extremely laggy (especially in a conversation with over 10000 messages. the stock sms app handles that better). I felt mysms was less reliable too.

I was hoping for the same thing. I was hoping that sms and mms would sync with hangouts so that I didn't have to create backups and such.
Hangouts always used to work flawlessy. In the past days I am not able to sent pictures. There's only a retry button but it never works. I would be thankful for solutions.
Many thanks

I'd double check the APN settings and if those are correct, then install another app that can send messages and test with that. If that doesn't work, then you might look in many of the texting apps as they will allow you to add your own APN as well to make sure it is Hangouts and not the settings giving you issues.

Thanks, other messenger work fine. And the apn is correct. I just added another Google account, and sending messages with pictures using this account in hangouts works. It seems to have something to do with my account.

Hmm, that's an odd one. Maybe try changing the password on the 1st account so it will force you to sign back in. Maybe that'll be enough to jump start the MMS for that account again.
That worked. Many thanks.

I have had the same problem with my LG G Flex. I had to browse to /etc/hosts file and it should contain some strings about "account.google" or something like that. Delete that line and it should work fine.
