Hi i just purchased a Snap on cover for my 8525.. seems like cheap plastic but will this effect the slider in anyway ? Because i doooo notice that its a little looser not then it really was. Does anyone else use snap on covers ? Please do let me know. And if there is also a way to re-tighten the slide. Any help or guidance would be much appreciated.
Same problem here
Hello,
I have one of those cheap plastic snap on covers, i think it's a good protector but the keyboard is not as tight as it use to be.
I too am looking for a suggestion for fixing the loose sliding of the keyboard.
I had come across on one of the forums regarding a fix, had to do w/ tape. i'm not so sure if this a true fix or a temporary fix or just a fix that is inexpensive.
But any advice will help.
Same, here. I'm using one of the snap on smoke covers. The keyboard part of the cover is a little lose. The sliding keyboard itself is a little lose as well. Don't want to stick tape in it. Would rather find a permanent solution.
if its poor quality add it to this thread

I have the Boxwave plastic "smoke grey" cover, I love it.
The only problem I had was that it was difficult to get one edge (the bottom) to snap. Eventually I discovered that the front snap-on cover absolutely has to be hooked from the bottom first - If you do that the other snaps engage easily with no trouble.
Hello,
Have any one noticed that the Droid RAZR surrounding plastic border, at the back, color gets dim from putting it on your desk or table. It's not very obvious, you wont see it except in strong light, but it's obvious enough to bother me every time I look at my RAZR
I have attached a pic I found online which has the same problem as mine and I highlighted the scratched or the dim parts on the plastic border.
Is there a fix for these scratches?
What were you thinking in, Motorola. Why didn't you choose a stronger material around the phone, I mean you did a great job by choosing gorilla glass to protect the display and Kelvar fabrics on the back, and the coating which protects the internal body parts. Yet you made the material which gets the most damages and is highly vulnerable out of plastic...
If you ever owned an iPod with a stainless steel back you'd know that being plastic or metal won't change the eventual appearance of fine scratches. Glass stays shiny and doesn't scratch as easily, but we all saw the crap people gave Apple for making the back of their phone out of that.
I doubt that the scratches can be removed even if they could be you're just going to get them back by putting the phone on your desk again. If you have to go out of your way to look for it under a strong light, it sounds like you either need a case, a hobby, or both.
There actually is a method for removing scratches:
1. Fine grain abrasive paper
2. Abrasive paste
But that will eliminate the paint on your backplate and you should re-paint it with an acrylic paint (like spray paint).
If you're so brave to do that...well..do it...but consider the idea of taking your RAZR as it is and to not put it directly on your desk but like me, put it on its pouch.
The fact that it's going to be scratched is absolutely normal... it's a phone..!
The coolest thing you can do would be to take out the back plate and sent it to a powdercoater. That's what I would do but I think it will mess up the warranty. it would be so cool though.
Isn't it an excess to powdercoat it?
Hey probably in 1 year you won't have it anymore xD
....But I have to admit it would be cool.
Can't polish and compound fix it?
The ones I use for my car =D

I have the same problem with my first Droid Razr. Then returned it to Verizon Wireless because I got the deal from Amazon.
And on second one, I put more care over that plastic bezel and put carefully a slice of transparent tape to cover it.
Though running at the risk of scratching the plastic bezel, I still let it run nakedly because it is the thinnest phone in the world and any cover will blow that title.
Mine scratched in the same places. I used car polish (Meguires Scratch X) to remove them. Just be gentle. I keep mine in my Casemate case now to prevent more.
That! One of the reason I moved from sgs2 because the plasticky body also collect the scratch at the same area (top and bottom). But it turned out razr metal body also can collect scratch... Geezz, i always put in my left pocket together with handkerchief, never ever put any coins or metallic substances near my phone....
And now, while i look closer to my screen, it too has collect two fine scratch line. Small, but i can see it. I think gorilla glass is way overhyped... As i wander around i also found this:

p.s: can we sue corning? or those guys who hammered their gorilla-glassed phone on you tube with knife?
The title of your thread implies that you already have a fix. You should have it edited.
Otherwise just buy a dang cover/case for the phone or buy little soft towels for every spot you put it down...
After 20 falls , uncountable number of bumps... , keys and phone together ...
And finally today!!! My screen got scratched but just a teeny bit!
And its on the screen protector!!
All i can say is this phone is tooo durable...
Tell me your experiences with screen getting scratched
My back cover got a (very) little clicky after some drop from table to hard floor, just bend it hard with hand and no clicky now, lolz. The screen protector is covered with scratch now, not a problem.
But the soft touch started to peeled off on the corner now. I have another white back cover but it's not look as good as the black one (really wish for a glossy black one) anyone know how to convert the soft touch one to glossy?
The soft touch on my black jack (i607) in old days: bruised as hell but never peel off.
Me too facing the peeling of the back cover at the corners. Can anyone suggest from where i can buy another back cover ?
me too. im looking for someone who sells a back cover for my xperia ray
I got my camera sensor scratched (sort of, it looks like it lost a layer of plastic in a few spots), the back cover losing it's matte surface in the corners, and some of the paint in one of the metallic corners and I take maniacal care of it and never dropped it once.
I also had 2 white pixels and could not get it replaced because unless the screen has FOUR bad pixels on the same line they are not supposed to replace it as it's not defective.
That being said, do you think it's more likely to win at the national lottery or to have 4 dead pixels on the same line out of 409.920 pixels?

Back cover no, sorry; but after you get one, a gel cover like this one is handy. I'm very satisfied with it.
But i will become yellow after a time .
I have the same just buy one made in leather it cost 3 dollars with free shipping on ebay
I have buy back cover on ebay,.. original.
yeah I have a scratch on the screen, even is have a screen protector
(in whisper) isn't this the development forum?:silly:
WELL theres no General Forum for The Ray ...
Just two little visible scratches in the protector screen, and some more "invisible" (they're only visible at the sun).
Yes, very durable phone. I love it.
I have a little crack on my screen, don't even know what it's from..
actually i'm an ROTC Cadet which means all the things in your pocket usually bumps to stone whenever senior officers give you exercise. my ray never had scratches on the screen, but a lot of scratches at the back cover, i must say that this beautiful monster is really durable.
if you wear it inside a case there should be no need for other protections
:cyclops:
I had a few drops but was smart enough to have a rubber-plastic mixed cover for it. It has saved me from quite a few heart attacks.
I have dropped it a couple of times but the phone has not received any damage... but some days ago I noticed that the crystal of the camera sensor has some blur on it because of alcohol splatter (I don't think these marks could be removed ) and also two red pixels on the center of the screen that are only noticeable when I set a black background... other than those the phone is perfect

Exactly, I can't see our phone in the general forum for mini/pro/active so...
OnT: Mine have managed too stay pretty shiny but I almost missed the bus going to work one day so I had to run my a%# off and suddenly I feel a jerky motion from my headphones and the music stops. Man did that phone fly or what, I think it was 10 feet between the phone, battery and backpiece :/
Just put everything together and it was like new besides a scratch on the screen (and I don't even use screenprotection )
Still, looks pretty good though.
Sent from my Paranoid SGS2
That looks like a screen protector to me on the second picture.
yeh looks like screen protectors
Lot's of scratches... I think the screen isn't so good what iphone 4 had but still better phone than any apple/samsung
Hello everyone!
I am looking for something special, it's bugging me that no flip case I've found got a cutout for the LED light in the top left corner of the phone.
I've tried to make one on my own by drilling a hole in the case I've got and put a little plastic tube in there to get the light through it. It was good but then again, it's not factory made and it doesn't look that good as I wished for. Then I just cutout a piece of the top left corner of the flip case and again, it looks aweful but it does the job.
So my question is, are there any flip cases out there that got a little hole for the LED light? It would be great if it were an S-View cover as well but it's okay if it doesn't have S-View.
Additional question: Does anyone of you got the Spigen S-View flip case? If so, is the front made out of metal or plastic? I'm thinking about buying one and then drilling a better hole since metal is easier to handle than plastic.
Thanks in advance, BunnyPig!

I ditched my flip case for a wallet/card holder/media stand by Cellairis.
I really like the back of a Z5, had a chance to play with it and it really feels great in the hand. I have looked on google for a back plate for Z2 made out of this "frosted glass" but to no avail. Has anybody seen this kind of replacement back plate for Z2? Does such back plate even exist for Z2? Not looking for an original replacement or accessory ofcourse.
I don't think there would be anything like that
Better go for dbrand matte skins
Skins are ok, but I really wanted a real good looking glass backplate. So are there at lest tricked out plates in dif colors anywhere? Like teal bp or transparent? Or is it possible to mount a z3 or z5 bp onto z2?

Haha
I had the same thought like you, to put z3/z5 backplate on my z2
but as far as i know, z2 and z3/z5 dimensions are slightly different and also that the NFC location of z2 and z3 is different but NFC location of z2 and z5 is same.
and note that the third party backplates are not good, it breaks fast, and most of them mismatch with flashlight hole and doesn't stick well
its better to stick with the current backplate.
I don't think you'll find what you're looking for. You could however get a plate made out of Aluminium like I did. I removed the stock glass plate, took measurements and got a plate made. Then I drilled holes for the camera and flash. Lastly I spray-painted it black (my phone's color). It works pretty great and for me has two advantages: a) I kept breaking my glass (stock) back plates, now I don't have to worry about that. b) My phone is now more in line with the X series.
I also made a wooden plate with a slight curve on it, and then polished it. The curve made it a delight to hold the phone!
Hope I could help.
