Hello everyone!
My NX507J, after partitioning procedure and some my mistake, has lost IMEI, IMEI2 and MEID. :crying:
I haven't got nv backup, so, I don't know how to do!
Is it possible to use a nv backup from an other NX507J and restore my phone with it changing the IMEI code with a qcn file reader??
So, if it is possible, does someone have got it for me?
Thanks in advance
Alessandro
I have the same problem after using cwm 12, i played around with the build.prop and it went into a boot loop, i took it to an expert to put a brand new imei on it, after it is done ill ask exactly what he did and inform you too.

Do you have the "Nubia Backup" folder in your root directory (from when you did the update) ?. If you do its possible in fact easy to recover.
Cheers

Did you resolve? I have the same problem.. There aren't backups..
Hey,
I have the same problem and I cannot restore my settings. In fact my sim card is not recognized and I have no network.
I have the c://nubia backup folder that has zip files inside. In the zip there is an nv.qcn , bluetooth.txt wlan.txt 1.persist etc
What should I do in order to restore my imei? I have tried with the nubia updater by pressing on the icon and although it says succesful and the phone reboots it's in the same condition. When I try with nubia tool studio i can only choose a folder and not a file. So I have tried by extracting in a folder and connecting it there buts says no xml file found.
Also, do you think it has to do with a different rom on phone than the one that the backup had been made?

hello i need help i´ve been trying to unblock my samsung vibrant but i cant find efs folder or nv_data.bin. what can i do. I don´t have a copy of this files i´m desesperate please help
Do you have root access and root explorer?
on the market look up galaxy S unlock. Not All vibrants had the nv_data file or whatever it is that allowed them to be unlocked in that way If I remember correctly. Galaxy S unlock has a generic unlock method for the Vibrants affected by this. I used it, it seemed to work. dunno, since I haven't tested it on any other SIM cards, but it did backup /efs to the SD card and create the files as it said it would.
Its worth a shot, and comes with a way to revert back if issues occur. Be sure to follow instructions, Don't delete the files it creates on the SD until you test everything out and make sure you have no issues. This way you can revert back using the backup.
same here
I try to get an unlock code using generate unlock window but after I ran it, it show error unable to find file <nv_data.bin>
Do I have to root it first b4 i can unlock it? please help.
thank you
Hello I seem to have the same issue...
I have rooted the phone, I have a file manager to browse my in-phone folders..
I went in the efs folder it says: "the folder is empty or have been banned. not the retrieved information"
I have also been trying to unlock the phone.. (i9000) I have tried all the ways that are on the xda developers and have finally tried to do it the manual way...
But I am stuck at transferring the nv_data.bin file...
Please help out!
Thanks
Im having the same issue. Been looking for an answer for hours and no luck. Im dying to use this phone...

i have the same isssue
Hello, The reason that you can not find the folder EFS it is because it is hidden. You can install Android Terminal Emulator from market
And then run it and write the command to see all the folder
ls -l
You will see the EFS folder.
Please let me know if it works for you
samsung advance sin imei ni nv_data.bin
hello my samsung advance imei not displayed and entered the efs folder and I find no data data.bin bak as I can do to put a generic one at least? or if someone is kind enough to pass me those files so I test if it works ... thanks!: Crying:
no nv_data.bin found
Hi there!
My 2.3.3 is rooted,
there is no /efs folder and
nv_data.bin was not found in the system.
what can i do in this case!?
My s3 stopped recognizing the Sim yesterday, so i searched for a solution. i read in xda that its the EFS partition. I got no IMEI and no Baseband. Somehow i found 2 files on the internal SD Card: "efsbackup.tar" and "efsdev-mmcblk0p3.img".
I read this thread, but it didnt help me.
Any idea how i could fix it?
Btw, Android Revolution HD 11.0 with stock kernel
I'm guessing your Rom auto backs up the efs, so best to ask on their thread about reinstalling it
Restore your EFS backup .
jje
im going to install now arhd 11.3 and then do the restore of the efs backup.
i noticed that the backup was built yesterday evening, when the problem already was. well it seems like i got no backup, when it was working
I followed in this thread this post:
Process:
1. make a copy of your EFS folder using root explorer and store it somewhere safe (on your SD card and external SD card should do it).
2. delete the EFS folder from the root of your phone using root explorer.
3. reboot the phone
4. open root explorer and go to the EFS folder (yes, it is still there! The Android OS has generated a new one for us) and delete the following files:
nv_data.bin
nv_data.bin.md5
nv.log
.nv_data.bak
.nv_data.bak.md5
nv_data.bin.bak
and the entire IMEI folder.
5.Now go to your backed up EFS folder on your sd card and copy the IMEI folder and the " .nv_data" file (note the dot) to your new EFS folder.
6.Make another copy of the ".nv_data" file in your new EFS folder. Rename one of them to "nv_data.bin" and the other one to "nv_data.bin.bak".
7. Connect your phone to your PC and start up EFS PRO. After your phone has been detected, press the "Repair nv data" button to correct the ownership and permissions.
8. Reboot your phone into recovery mode using the three botton combo and flash the original modem firmware (the modem.bin file that you extracted earlier) to your phone using Odin (use the "phone" button for the upload) or Heimdall (use the "radio" partition for the modem.bin file upload).
9. Reboot the phone normally and your IMEI number will be restored and you will be able to connect to your mobile network again

and now i got an IMEI, but its still not mine: 004999010640000 / 01
If you have an efs.tar file why dont you put it in PDA in Odin?.
wont work.
deleted
Ok....then I dont understand why it backs up as a tar file then
yesterday i flashed siyah kernel, siyah probably made a efs backup. but that backup was already after that problem happened.
well i got now the 0049 imei
So you dont have a back up of you original IMEI is that what your saying?.Flashing ROMs normally is what makes a backup not flashing a kernel so Id say the backup is original.

you need to read better then
You'll need to perform an "IMEI injection" which is a kludgy last-resort restore method that manually writes the IMEI to NVRAM; the link I provided in Part C of "Backup" will tell you how to do it.

That's what the efs backup is for xD
Calm down, or you'll make things worse. Unzip the efs.tar to /efs and reboot your phone (DON'T PULL THE BATTERY)
Everything should work like a charm again
Hope I could help!

Hi,
after flashing a modem, i got a "fake imei", and i can't connect to my provider.
After some search i found a thread to recover:
- copy esf to sd
- format efs
- restart
- copy imei folder and nv_data.bin.bak (from 2010) to nv_data.bin
- restart
i'm still stuck with this imei.
Is there something else to do ?
i tested this process with android 4 samsung, and 2.3.5
do i have to be in the same release than first time i used the phose ? (2.3.3)
thanks for advises/help.

Hello,
Thanks for your suggestion,
i tryed that yesterday, but as i have no backup how can this solve the problem ?
should i rename something ?
i did the few steps to format and reinstall. but it still the same.
I noticed after flashing the modem, the timestamp changed from 2010 to 2013 on the file nv_data.bin and .md5
i had a .nv_data.bak from 2010 is this the correct one ? (in the efs folder)
this is the one i'm trying to restore, if possible/correct ?

If you tried SGII_Repair I assume you've already tried this and didn't work, right?
If so, try going back to previous MODEM (back EFS folder with HC kTool first).

Not the original ROM, the last modem you used before flashing the one that got you in this mess.

Okay, so you've got 2 EFS folders, one in your SD card and the other one in system's folder, all same files in each folder, am I right?
the copy i have is a backup i did after the problem.
not sure at this time, i'm thinking to restart fresh, i'll copy /sdcard/efs to /efs and replace.
Then i'll try again gs2_repair to see if i missed something.
Woot working get my imei back and online
many thanks !!!!

LS6 didn't work for you?
REMEMBER to BACK UP the EFS folder!
LS8 and LS6 make my imei disparear if i use getril to have the same ril/baseband
if i use ril xxlq6 with the modem LS8, my imei come back (*#06#)
but reception is very poor
i'm using CM10.1 nightly 04022013
now i'm using xxlq6 baseband and ril; it is most of the time full strength, then sometime fall to -130 DB 0 psu
but if i start a call to my second phone, it pass from -130db to full strength
Ok I have found out entirely new way of restoring backed up IMEIs.
Many members think that MobileUncle Tool can backup and restore your IMEIs but you are mistaken friends, I have already tried, it does backup your IMEIs but doesn't restore the IMEIs.
If you are rooted then its better to backup your IMEIs as we all root to experiment with our device. Most of the advance member must be knowing the location of IMEIs in MTK devices, its in Data>NVRAM>md>NVRAM>NVD_IMEI, so just to be on safer side just copy entire NVD_IMEI folder on a safe place in SD card or in your computer. If you don't have backup of your IMEIs but do have backup of your ROM, then you can extract your NVRAM folder from backup as well. Just open the data.ext4.tar.a in 7zip and extract the NVRAM folder from there.
Though IMEIs can be written via Engineering Mode but sometimes it doesn't work without formatting the entire device. And formatting erases all the MAC IDs and then you have to use SN_Station to write your MAC IDs, and using SN_Station is really very painful.
So first try Engineering Mode, if it doesn't work then you are actually in trouble, now you have to write your IMEIs using one or the other IMEI writing application, but in this method you don't require any app apart from SP Flash tool.
Here is the method that too in just two lines.
1. Overwrite your backed up NVD_IMEI folder @ data>NVRAM>md>NVRAM folder, you might have to change the permissions in root browser, I prefer ES File Explorer.
2. Once you paste that folder successfully just flash your ROM normally using SP flash tool. Reboot your device and you would get your IMEIs back.
Enjoy.....................
This works dude.... I have tried it.. Thanks a tonne

First you have to overwrite the NVD_IMEI folder and then flash the stock ROM using SP Flash tool, your would get the IMEIs back.

Though I have not tried to backup my ROM using Stock recovery but you can try opening the backup file using 7zip, I did manage to extract IMEIs from my CWM and TWRP backup using 7zip.
Thanks. Working for me as well on my Canvas A116..

Thanks for your responce. The qcn i mean is the .qcn file backup through QPST. It contains all the baseband related information for making a call.
I have baseband and imei, but signal.
SIM is recorgnized. It is great if you can backup a .qcn file from your phone.
A backup efs through twrp will also do.
