[Q] Updating from 4.3 outside US - AT&T HTC One (M7)

Hey Guys,
I want to know a safe way to update the phone from 4.3 to the latest version while being outside US(Im from Europe).
The phone is from AT&T so i cant get the OTA.
The phone is s-off and unlocked. CID is CWS__001
Can I just flash the latest RUU from HTC for AT&T?
I checked this link: http://www.htc.com/us/support/htc-one-att/news/
Will this RUU work with my phone?
Thanks for your time and help!
PS: The phone is not mine so I prefer taking extra safeties before trying anything.

How to gain S-OFF ? (rare situation)

hello guys i have a question i bought an HTC One M7 from At&T (i bought it on internet) im currently using another carrier because is factory unlocked, but when they gave it to me the phone was runing a custom rom (insterkoin 4.4.2) i really dont like the roms i preffer the stock ones with no root and everything as it is, so i found out that the Phone has the bootloader unlocked, rooted, but is still S-ON and it has H.Boot 1.55 so i dont know how do they installed a custom ROM, pretty much my question is, how do i restore my phone to Fully stock, and i understand that i need to gain s-off in order to get back to stock, so how can i do it ? if you guys please can help me i will appreciate it thank you in advanced!

You don't need s-off to install a custom rom in many cases. It just has to be unlocked via HTC dev. Look around and you should find the post with instructions for returning to stock 4.3.

Need assist to get OTA

Hi Guys,
I have an HTC One M8,
M8_UL_CA PVT SHIP S-OFF
CID-11111111
HBOOT-3.16.0.0000
RADIO-1.15.2133156.UA13G
OpenDSP-v38.2.2-00542-M8974.0311
OS-1.54.401.5
eMMC-boot 2048MB
If I undersand, it is an At&t variant? Does it? But the system is 1.54.401.5 (Android Revolution?).
When I attempt to update, this is what I have "We have determined that your phone may be running a modified version of its system software...." (cf the attachement)
What I have to do for receiving the OTA update?
- installing the recovery stock at&T but it doesn't match with the system on my phone
- installing the ruu at&t but i must change my cid to the at&t cid and i can't because i am not using the at&t carrier.
You need the stock AT&T ROM in order to OTA. But if you are not on AT&T's network, you probably won't receive the OTA anyway (this is AT&T specific, most other variants can be updated regardless of what network you are using).
CID has nothing to do with what carrier you use (its not like a SIM lock). It just allows/disallows installing of HTC software based on what version (CID) you have. It doesn't matter anyway, SuperCID will pass the CID check for the AT&T RUU. But did you change the MID also? As long as you have the right MID and SuperCID, you can run the AT&T RUU and just be updated to Lollipop (Lollipop RUU already available, no need to OTA).
Another option, you might consider changing the MID to a version that is better suited for your region (or an unlocked, or Developer's Edition) and install the stock ROM, firmware, and recovery for that version. Then you will be "fully converted" to another version and should get OTAs for that version.
AT&T stock software is a pile of crap, if you ask me. Not that good even on AT&T's network, and even worse if you are on another network.

[Q] at&t htc one m8 RUU update to lollipop?????

hi ppl .... m using HTC ONE M8 (at&t unlocked),, I want to update it to android 5.0.2 through manual RUU update,,
but updating by this procedure,,,,will it relock my phone again from at&t carrier.
kindly advise
No, RUU will not SIM lock the phone again.
If the bootloader is unlocked, you need to relock.
But if the phone isn't modifed (bootloader unlock, root, etc.) then just backup you personal data (RUU will wipe the phone) and run the RUU.

Hello.
I have an unrooted At&t HTC One M7. It is sim unlocked along with a locked boot loader and S-ON.
It is currently running on 4.3 Android version and the Software number is 3.17.202.3
I just want to update it to 4.4.2 (kitkat) using RUU File.
I need the link of the RUU file version for this.
I would love to update it without doing s-off and any other unlocking/locking thing.
if there is a way, please do let me know.
Any help would be highly appreciated.
Thanks.
RUU's are available via your region/countries HTC site.

Convert AT&T HTC M9 to Europe Edition?

I just bought a brand new HTC One M9. Unfortunately, it's an AT&T model, and I can't update the firmware because I live in the UK. It is running stock AT&T android 5.1, current firmware version is 2.11.502.18. I have S-OFF. I downloaded this RUU: RUU_HIMA_UHL_L50_SENSE70_HTC_Europe_1.32.401.17_Radio_01.01_U11440261_56.02.50306G_2_F_release_429340_signed_2_4.exe from this site: http://www.androidruu.com/?developer=M9
My worry is that, if I flash the RUU, I will be downgrading. Will this be a problem? Is there a more later version of a WWE RUU available elsewhere? Also, I want to remain being S-OFF, so will flashing an RUU return the device to S-ON, or is that only manually possible?

You first log on to ADB powershell, connect the phone in USB DEBUG mode, ensure HTC SYNC is installed and HTC driver is present. After this you change the CID and MID to the EU HTC variant, and then you may proceed to flash this ROM and hopefully find that BAND 40, and the rest of the EU LTE bands work. Let me know if this works. Even I have a spare HTC m9 that I'd like to carry during travel time. So far from T-mobile, to At&t and Rogers works like a charm for me.
