Recentely, I've been noticing that the photos taken on my 610 have been absolute dog poo. They look hazy with no sharpness and lack of colour, they look as if they were taken on a 2005 laptop camera...
Looking at the camera lens reveals scratches and marks...
Anybody else noticed this?
Apparentely it's an issue with some sort of coating applied to the lens in the factory which comes away, it aslo happens on the M8
Anybody else had this issue or know any solutions?
Today I used a polishing paste and removed the UV filter. Now is ok Btw you can try tooth paste too.

I used k2 tempo because it is slightly abrasive (for car varnishes). However, this paste is only in Poland i think. At the beginning use a little bit of tooth paste and by typing polishing with ear swab about 3 minutes. Then wipe the other side of the swab (you can use a little bit of water) and see how it came out (retry if in still image is not sharp and you see a filter on the lens)
Sorry for my English.

Has anyone noticed that the camera lens is getting scratched easily? I would asume that this happens on the HOX as well. Even if I have a case on it, the camera lens is exposed.

I got it already on my hox+

What a shame isn't it? Such a fine made phone but with this defect. I have not been able to find a case that protects the lens.

I found a great solution to prevent from scratches on lens. U have to buy screen protector and something that is used to make a gap in leather belts (dont know how its call in English but it looks like this (its not expensive):

U need size 9mm (9.5mm). Just use hammer + this thing on screen protector to get proper size of lens protector and place it to your lens. That's it. Now I don't care about scratches anymore

Nice idea, I was thinking on using the paper hole maker that is used on the office, but I was wondering about the size. I will try to see if I can find one of this somewhere.
Thanks for the tip.
Edit: found one on Amazon for 9.99. Just bought it!

Just saw that my camera lens has a scratch after 2 months too. I used from the beginning a case. Must be really cheap plastic or glass. My GNex that I used without case had not one scratch on the camera glass after 6 months.

possible fix?
hey guys,
I too have some annoying scratches on my camera lens..
Do you guys think it would be safe to apply Polywatch on the camera lens to fix the scratches?
Hi
I found some methods how to create stylus for capacitive screen. Now i show you one of them.
What we need:
- AAA Battery
- once usable pen
- spring from pen
- conductive material (wet cloth)
- Electrician's tape
Procedure:
- remove from pen refill
- cut the pen 4 cm from the beginning
- cut from cloth 3x3 cm
- 3x3cm square take to cuted pen (must be same as picture )
- now take spring to cuted pen too
- take battery and attach it to cuted pen with spring inside using tape. ( negative site of the battery must be inside )
And you are done. If you don't understand something tell me and I edit this tutorial. Next week I do a video with procedur
Sorry I can't add pictures because i not send 10 posts -_-
That's basically interesting! I would like a video and pictures (I know you can't yet). Faking a change in the electric charge of the screen using the electric field created by the battery (if I'm right) really nice idea
I created it here is the photo https://www.dropbox.com/s/2xfz9l8hnmi7lwf/IMG_20140105_131404.jpg . It not look much good but working .
Any video tutorial sir??? I reeeeaaaalyy courious about ur work...
I can record and upload video. But i can not share link here. So if TheAmazingCraft can record video with tutorial i will be very happy
Sure i can tomrrow is video here
Thanks you very much sir. I'll be waiting
Why don't you complete your 10 post limit

Here is the video set speed of video to 2 and you will not have lags. And sorry ubuntu deleted me audio :/

About the conductive material...if we use cloth it has to be wet to work every time?
Στάλθηκε από το Xperia U μου χρησιμοποιώντας Tapatalk
Yes cloth must be wet but this is not big problem. If cloth dry only what you need is immerse the stylus into the water for 1 minutes but batery must be up the water.

I put my Ultra down on my console where I happened to have two loose staples lying from a package I'd opened earlier.
When I picked it up, the staples were magnetically attached to the bottom right corner of the phone - around where the speaker is.
Has anyone else noticed the phone having magnetic properties?
Speakers have magnets in them. This phone is just thin enough and the staples just light enough that they stick. No biggie.
Sent from my Xperia Z Ultra using Tapatalk
Fun fact (not really): Phones that support wireless charging uses an electromagnetic field to transfer energy between two objects, so they have magnets under the back cover. Not a lot of people (Nexus 5 owners for example) are aware of this, so they get surprised when things "sticks" to the back.

That is probably why @hamdogg has so many issues with his Ultra, he must have a knock-off

I don't think so, the back cover is attached.
Sent from my Z1 using Tapatalk
Yes it is possible as the back cover is only held in place by double sided tape and plastic clips.
So, using the right tools you could pop them off and swap them.
But would you really buy the phone twice just to get the black front mixed with the wooden back?
(I myself have the wooden version.)

@I wouldn't buy a new one but as my first ZUK Z1 died after 4 weeks I expect to have a lot of broken ZUK Z1 in the future which should work as spare part deliverer. I'm also interessted in real pictures of the back cover.

The latter is the same case I use on my OnePlus 5. Looks nice with good protection.
Just ordered both of them...??
Thanks mate....
I have similar clear backed case, it's a good solution for wearing a vinyl skin on the phone cos you can still see it and have the phone protected, I have the Ringke smoked back model though : https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B073TVVPGK

sorry ! The shipping cost is too high...You may better buy locally .
just got a genuine spigen case, and damn it looks ugly. I tough the clear case would be nice, but on a second tough it looks like a cheap chinese phone.
The first finger prints cleaning gave scratches...
I've tried and see on youtube some cases, and imo, the most prenium look one is this one (im still using this one since day one, love it) :
black soft rubber and clear back

I got this from ebay, there's few sellers with those '' auto focus '' case. The back plastic is not that bad at all, few light scratches since 1.5y.
Black rubber part still look almost like new.
