No GPS with Mokee 4.4.x
Hi,
thanks for this thread, I posted this once already in Help section and only then I saw your post. So please don't bash me for doubleposting
I'm having trouble with GPS on my P760 phone (currently sporting Mokee 140712). Ever since I installed a KitKat based ROM, it won't find the GPS signal. Last time I know it worked was two weeks ago on CM 10.2.1, so I guess it's not a hardware problem. Then I started flashing various KitKats, starting with Mokee 140706 release, then SOKP, then again Mokee, the latest 140712 release. No luck with any of these. I did a lot of googling, tried flashing various GPS fixes (mainly edits of gps.conf), fiddling with FasterGPS (again editing gps.conf), nothing works.
My last ditch effort was letting GPS Status run for more than 20 minutes outdoors, under clear sky - nothing. At times it sees one or two satellites, but never more and never fixes.
Is there something I can do (besides buying a new phone, preferably no LG this time ?
Thanks for any help.
Michal

Can't wait to try, Thanks for this new rom. Get back with any feedback soon.
ROM is loaded and running very well. Thanks for the ROM and all the hard work from all developers etc. It is awesome. If anything FC's or anything I'll comment again.
Very nice, very fast.

Why unofficial build? On TeamEOS website, they have official M7 builds.

A couple of bugs.
It seems the phone will randomly lock up from time to time forcing a reboot.
On any speaker phone mode, it does not use both microphones. The only microphone pickup you will get is on the rear (near the camera). Are you able to get both microphones up or possibly switch the pickup to use the bottom one instead? This is a consistent problem with all Cynogen based ROMs I've come across.
Interesting, but ...
Looks interesting with promise of different user-interface. But where in the ROM do I activate this NX? Or the actions linked to hardware buttons?
Comment about the official web-site: it gives me a chance to select my phone model, but then I cannot download. So, I just downloaded from here.
How's the stability? Any issues with random reboots or camera reboots?

Hi All,
I've been working on a CAF version for osprey. This is started from kernel and device tree made by Alberto97 and Squid2, so thanks a lot to them for the bringup.
This version is very early and should only be flashed by people who know what they are doing. Flash this at your own risk.
Code:
#include
/*
* Your warranty is now void.
*
* I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
* before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
* you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.
*/
For now only a few things are working:
Working
Bluetooth
SMS/RIL
Sound
Camera
Not work

@scritch007 we need this commit for gapps to work on CAF/AOSP...its already upstream in CM13...
https://github.com/TeamExodus/frameworks_base/commit/9c36be651e83fb039a262682839bd920b033007a
I tested on a XT1527, and it works incredibly good only there's two issues:
1)When switching from wifi to Mobile Network (i think after a data connection, i don't know exactly) the phone freezes up, and after it shutdown to bootlogo. (i will try to provide you a logcat)
2)The mobile network doesn't work, i think so, the google search didn't response
Anyways, it's an incredible work, and keep it going! Thanks for porting Android 6.0 to our device
Wow, just tested, & everything pretty much works. The only bugs are gapps, SD Card, & the occasional random reboot. Everything else, including 4G, worked. I tested all the apps, & sideloaded chrome to test browsing/video. Once we get the gapps & SD Card fixed, it's pretty much daily driver material. Thanks, @scritch007!

@all look at the Moto G 2015 thread, some of the errors/solutions are already posted there.
RIL seems to be broken in my X1521...sim card isn't getting detected
Just tried this on my XT1521... no RIL because this is dual SIM, and no microSD, but nonetheless, great work! The ROM was extremely fluid in the few moments I used it, and fixing those issues, I would have no issues in using it as a daily driver.

It seems that the issue is actually WebView. When opengapps installs, it installs Google Webview, and since this ROM is still configured to use AOSP WebView, it doesn't work. @scritch007 you actually need this commit.

@NSDCars5 thanks updated the change log. It was taken from osprey, which didn't get previous version
@scritch007
Video recording worked fine in the last build too, I just couldn't see the recorded video in Marshmallow (in Lollipop I could see what I'd recorded in Marshmallow). So does this mean we can see recorded video in the ROM itself?
Question

When you say SD doesn't work, you mean it doesn't recognize it at all? Or is it only a minor issue? Just wondering.
Sorry for the question but on XT1524 works this?
*** This project is now abandoned in favor of the LineageOS variant ***
This is a port of Cyanogenmod 14.1 for the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 7.0 (2016) LTE SM-T285. Cyanogenmod needs no introduction, it is one of the most popular aftermarket ROM distributions around.
5.1.1 is the best that you can get from samsung right now and it is not known if they plan to do any upgrades. I have absolutely no idea why samsung chose to stay with the outdated 5.1.1 mid 2016 when we already got 7.1 coming out. This custom rom is probably the best you can get if you want an upgrade from Lollipop. Performance on the latest build is also better, you be the judge.
As this is the first CM-14.1 release, I don't recommend you use this as a daily driver, but it should be good enough for some. Make sure you read the pending issues below and decide if this is acceptable to you before you flash this rom. This rom probably won't get much use out of some people until bluetooth is fixed.
Based off on Cyanogenmod 14.1 sources which is based on Nougat 7.1.

Update Dec 3, 2016
===============
Fixed GPS, Wifi Hotspot, Graphics issues, Calls, Camera,sdcard is now marked as adoptable.
Works:
- Wifi/SMS
- Audio
- Graphics with glitches (minor screen tearing, blank screen showing up on overlays)
- GPS
- Wifi Hotspot
- Incoming/Outgoing Calls
- MTP
Does not work:
- Bluetooth
- Camera
- LTE (Due to APN issues)
- Battery Meter not updating
Bugs/Known Issues
* Problems recording video
Other Notes:
- selinux permissive
Most of the issues are fixable, I just need more time and encouragement
SM-T280 Users: Unfortunately this rom would probably not work on it since the SM-T285 and SM-T280 have different kernels and slightly different hardware. I don't have access to this device so it would be hard for me to port it over. However I believe there are a lot of similiarities in the device tree that can be shared. If a dev with the SM-T280 is interested I can probably help.
Download
========
Remember flashing an unofficial ROM on your samsung device will probably void your warranty, Samsung representatives will probably not be able to help you as they are still stuck at 5.1.1 land as of now and have no idea how to handle a SM-T285 that is running 7.1.
As always flash this at your own risk. Make sure you have a copy of the stock ROM so that you have something to fall back to, which is highly the case when using an experimental rom.
See DevDB download section.
BUILD12032016
Note that this rom is pure stock and does not come with the Play Store or any Gapps, I suggest you download a micro gapps package separately and install it via recovery.
There have been reports that recent versions of open gapps don't work properly, it is advised to use older versions instead (e.g. open_gapps-arm-6.0-nano-20161109.zip)
Installation Instructions
==================
Perform a backup of all of your important files. This ROM is experimental and I will not be responsible for your loss of data.
Download the zip file and extract the tar.
Use Odin/Heimdall to flash the tar file to your device. If you are coming from stock oranother rom make sure you wipe first using TWRP. Coming from a previous version of OMNIRom for SM-T285 may not require a wipe, however please perform a wipe if you encounter problems.
Root and customization
===================
This ROM is a purely based on source and is not rooted out of the box. However you can easily root it by using TWRP to install the latest version of SuperSU.
If you want to customize this ROM and repackage it you may use this guide as a reference.

Nice job!!!
Great job! The ROM is impressively fluid, and I particularly love the way it renders fine text, which I appreciate because I prefer DPIs of 140 to 160. Unfortunately, just like in the early iterations of OmniROM 6.0, the tablet will not connect to the internet over cellular networks no matter how much I tinker with APNs. It's a great build, nevertheless, and I look forward to future releases.
Thank you !! Will give it a try.
posting here too (as did on omni - realized this is the cm 14.1 board)...
"briefly tried the cm14.1....much better very fast response-on the omni the pull down was an issue (would also ask me to format the sd card)
noticed here too the signal tends to drop in and out (wonder if it is some power saving going on-it goes to full strength during a call)...speakerphone also does not work here but must say this is better than the omni even though data does not work"
keyboard much better here too
on both cm14.1 and the omni, the dialer tends to be have some lag when pressing the numbers (do it too fast and can get many errors)-minor thing understand this is an alpha and the omni is a beta
thanks
I can't get Soft Keys to work, worked fine on the Omni ROM, only problem I have come across so far.

Those patches didn't help unfortunately Though I've fixed network type selection in CM-14.1 already, unfortunately data connection still won't come online due to errors related to APNs. Seeing as this was working perfectly in CM-13 this could be a CM-14 or Nougat related change, it will take a while to figure out what that is. As for bluetooth I was able to get it to turn on, however it is still unable to detect/pair to any device, this is also something that was working in CM-13.

With cooperation with LG K10 team I have done a LOS 14.1 build for LG Spirit 4G LTE.
What works:
- LCD
- Touch
- Sound
- RIL (calling, texting, mobile data)
- Wi-Fi
- Bluetooth (for data transfer)
- Camera
- NFC
Known bugs:
- Bluetooth headsets could have issues
REQUIREMENTS:
- Unlocked bootloader (see PVineeth97 instructions)
- TWRP
- v20b stock from where you will move to LOS
HOW TO INSTALL:
Please follow guide posted here
I can not promise fast development as Spirit is my primary phone and internet connection source.

What I've noticed is that a lot of people in this forum are completely indifferent to the fact that the devs are just people, not companies. They have personal lifes and issues to deal with, not to mention that dev work is not that easy. If everyone could feel less entitled to get stuff for free and be just a bit more patient, that would be greaaat.

Deyum! You basically took it to the next level. Been ranting about this for a while now but ppl seem not to give a deyum about those who contribute value to our phones. Phones, which are often poorly configured from the manufacturer. If twasn't for several of the threads here, the Spirit would basically be junk.

How it looks on spirit? Like this
For now I was able to boot twice. Root is required. Baseband from LS775 will be required to fix modem crash, obviously @Fobos531 TWRP also is required (for flash zip and baseband image). I can not promise fast development as Spirit is my primary phone and internet connection source.

How hard would it be for someone that has no idea what he is doing, like me, and never tried to build a rom to try to debug this rom? I would like to help but i have zero experience at building a rom

^ - Read the README. I highly recommend getting a Linux (Ubuntu) install running. You need 20 - 50 GB of free disk space. Also you need A LOT of patience. Download Lineage source code and the local manifest as the readme instructs you. Then build Lineage and try flashing it. Take a look at this (https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/h815/build) for further instructions in the building process. Once you get it to boot, use adb logcat to get logs which may help you debug errors and fix all the issues in the ROM. Join #lineageos-dev on freenode IRC if you have further questions. People there willl be able to help you.
