Hello.
I'm on stock 4.4.2 (D618) and I'm kinda tired of factory reseting my phone every month trying to fix this.
The problem is that my phone has interface lag constantly. I open an app and when I get back to home screen it
looks like the homescreen was force closed and had to be restarted so the graphics appear slowly in the screen. Sometimes
I have to wait 3 or 5 sconds for it to finish. It happens all the time too after I unlock my screen. And everytime I switch my wifi on
the phone just freezes for about 5 seconds and then comes back all laggy and stuff. Do you guys have that? Have any of you fixed?
I'm not rooted because that made things worse sometime ago. Thanks

Did you buy it from a well-known store or online?

If you get it online just download cpuz and see if you have the hardware that you must have (that happened to a friend of mine). If you get it from a well known store, get it back and tell about your problem..

The phone is original. I bought it online but the store is reliable.

The phone is pretty old already so the store won't give any support =/
I had the same problem in CM12 as well, but the lag was "weaker" and not that common
Maybe if you remember when you started to experience this lag you will know what cause it...

Once I reset the phone (When I say reset I mean that I flash the KDZ in CSE mode), of course the problem goes away. Then I start to download all my apps from Play Store (about 25 or 35 apps). I download them all, I also open them all to make login and etc. I always close all the background apps after that and reboot the phone. The phone works normally for a few days (less than week) and then the lag starts. Sometimes it happens with a lot of apps open, sometimes with none open at all. I thought it was because of high usage of RAM but there's about 250 ~ 300mb free all the time. I tried using those apps to clean cache but they don't make anything better. I tried deleting some apps there are very heavy and I don't use much, like Instagram, Twitter, even Tapatalk (I like XDA better in my pc), some games... I rooted the phone to use Greenify but it didn't change anything and the root made it worse (apparently). I don't really know what else to do.

Try again stock rom with no root and use greenify (it works non-root, i am using it like this too)..

Maybe has something to do with an app that you've installed or have installed too many apps? Do you also reset your sd card when factory reseting your phone?
my D618 runs nicely though it sometimes lags when loading webpages on Chrome and slow to close when I close a game (like clash of clans) by pressing the home button other than that it runs fairly well.

I have the same issue! I need to flash my LG G2 Mini (D620K) like every week. I don't know what the problem is. I dropped my phone in january so the screen broke, but then I bought a new one and everything was appareantly fine. The only issue at that time was that I didn't have mobile network sign, even though I had my SIM card in my phone. I tried to factory reset it but that's when the problems started to show off, but it took a while to get stuck in the LG logo and now this problem doesn't seem to go away.

I don't even use this program yet it shows 22% battery usage so far. Every night when I go to charge my phone it's always ay the 2nd spot for battery usage. I don't think tj I s should be occurring. I know I can freeze the program but at some point I may meed to use it to access my home files on my laptop. Any help is appreciated.

The best solution (if not the only) is to freeze the application, and to unfreeze it whenever you're ready to use it. I know there was a MIUI program that allowed users to stop applications from starting up automatically (both boot and idle operation), and would only be operational whenever the user opened up the program manually... But I don't know if there is anything similar to that now.

I froze it. I never really used it on my S3 amd don't see myself using it on the S4.

I'm thinking it might be the memory card. I was thinking of removing it, saving the files. formatting it then putting it back in the phone since it was in my old S3.
While I was sleeping Samsung Link used all my CPU. Here is the proof
I was able to reach Google and they claim that the Android System should be #1 always. I don't believe them in the least bit but hey it's their OS. As for Samsung Link Samsung claims it shouldn't be using CPU when your not using the application. It should be idle and they had no clue to how to fix it besides saying to do a factory reset. Such incompetent people at Samsung.
Then maybe my phone is broken. I think that it has to do with the bloatware running within the system folder (or running as an Android system app)? I don't know a lot about the development side of things, but I do know that once I froze a majority of the programs that Verizon and Samsung included on the phone, my battery life has never been better... Even though my playing of games doesn't help.

I think mine is somewhat fixed now. The Android OS isn't #1 today. I'll see how everything goes. I don't have anything disabled yet. I'm waiting for a good list of what to disable as for bloatware. I do know if Samsung Link keeps up using my CPU and affecting battery life I may freeze it.

Don't know how to get a screen shot on here but I have so little going on with my battery that I'm amazed: Samsung 4G from Verizon, purchased the day they became available. I also purchased my own 64 gb external SD card (Samsung) but only have some data on it at this point ..... waiting for.... hoping for.... the app to sd. The phone is not rooted and uses no special launcher

I have been near my router most of the day and therefore, the phone has been connected to my router. But I was out for about 4 hours and sent some texts, made a few calls etc.
I went through the apps a few days ago and "disabled" everything I wasn't using - Amazon mp3, Amazon Kindle, Samsung keyboard and Swype ( use the smart keyboard from my droid charge days - maybe someday I'll look around but I'm very attached to it by now). Disabled Watch-On and never registered with Samsung or activated the Samsung Link. I use a third party app and have never used Kies. I also disabled a few Google apps such as the story book and one or two others.
I don't use the automatic brightness adjust. Instead, I have an app with which I can put a fine line on any edge of my screen and move it to brighter or less bright as needed.
Using a very charcoal wallpaper, turned off animations etc. My lock screen actually has a picture from Samsung (the flowers) which I thought wasn't bad. I don't lock it but do use swipe and light... to open it. I have the digital clock widget, the owner information widget, and phone, contacts and ICE info app (as a shortcut) on the lock screen.
I guess I'm sharing this to see if it will help anyone - and also to figure out what I did "right". I don't feel I'm suffering at all from a lack of space for apps, assuming someday we'll move them to the SD card. I sync gmail and use AquaMail for my other 4 email accounts. Aqua Mail is set to sync when I open it, which I usually do about 2 or 3 times/day.
This is all I can think of right now but if I can help anyone with a specific question about one of the apps, please ask.

You get that Samsung Link disabled.? Your screens horse shows it using a lot of cpu.

I have a problem with my boyfriends Xperia S.
Starting today, it is impossible to enable GPS, trying to do so causes whatever app I try with to force close.
For example, if I try to enable it via Notification Bar Toggles, systemui.apk force closes. If I try to enable it via settings, settings.apk force closes and if I try via any third party app or widget, that app force closes as well.
GPS is the only thing that is not working correctly, everything else like WIFI or data etc. still works.
The phone currently runs Android 4.1 on a custom rom. I already tried to reflash the rom, it didn't help.
What else could I try and what could be causing this?

Have you made any changes to the SystemUI? Battery mods? etc? On some other Xperia phones, it seemed that caused this issue. A quick search didn't bring up anything specific. After you reflashed the rom - did you do a clean flash and try it before reinstalling any backups or other settings? Another rom is an option, worst case scenario.

There hasn't been any change to the phone for almost a year now, and not even a new installed app for about a month.
I also searched but the only thing close was a thread about an xperia mini, but there reflashing seemed to have helped.
I wiped everything and tried on fresh install but it still force closes anything. Almost as if the apps just couldn't find the gps. Is there any apk that belongs to gps or something similar that could be missing? Maybe deleted? I took a quick look at system/app before reflashing the rom but the only thing gps related there was 'gpssatilitenotification.apk'. Tried wiping the data and cache of that but that did not change anything, still, a reflash should have solved that
Changing the rom would really have to be the last resort. But the phone ran on that rom for about 1 year and a half without any problem so I think the issue is not rom related, but of course i could be wrong.
That is very strange. You don't necessarily have to change roms permanently, but testing another one real quick will be an easy way to tell if the issue is hardware or software related. As you noted, the issue happens immediately, so won't take long to test.

I reflashed the stock rom, and the same thing is happening.
If it's not rom related, it might be hardware.
Maybe the gps sensor is broken or anything?
Is that really how the system would react to a hardware damage? I searched but couldn't find anything on the topic.
I would have imagined if it was broken, it would just say 'turning on' with nothing actually happening, but the apps are force closing.
Myself, I would try one last thing: flash a CM based rom or something non stock. If it fails there too, then probably a lost cause. I do repairs for a living and have never seen that happen. Phones are crazy things...see something new every day. Any chance of liquid damage? Sweat? Drink? etc?

I can't flash CM because the bootloader is not unlockable.
Liquid damage is highly unlikely. Also no drops or anything, it's really weird.
I wish I knew how this happened, it was from one day to the next all of a sudden, but I can't really figure it out.

It was unlocked, but pretty much every other variant wasn't so the development was weak compared to other similar quality phones. I read the forums ALL the time as well as experimenting heavily with my phone and fixing, rooting, etc other people's stuff and haven't seen anything I can think of that would cause this. Not saying there isn't an answer, but if there is, I would imagine it's rather obscure.
Just for the heck of it, searched for: GPS apps crash system - and found other phones that have suffered from this, such as Blackberries:

Just thought of another thing, maybe you can plug it into the computer and get a logcat running, then make the phone crash and the logcat should catch what fails before it crashes. Now the logcats are confusing to read if you aren't used to them (I'm learning slowly). You could also try to run it from the phone if you don't want to use the computer with something like https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.jtb.alogrec as it saves it continuously to the phone's storage.

Hm I attached the screenshot of the logcat while the systemui force closes when using the notification toggle for gps. I really can't read any of that though

The log should be in a .txt format. You would want to upload that or to paste it @ pastebin.org and copy the link here.

download arm /gapps /nano from opengapps.org and no use even with cm14. 1 28/11/16, Android keyboard also error its closing always but i am using SwiftKey, rest everything is good

The /system partition size is probably not enough. I believe cm14 needs at least 1.3GB.

Ah I suspected that might be the case, I'll look for a guide as I'm wayyyyy out of practice these days. If you know of a good guide I'd appreciate any help.

Hey Dan here's some info and links I added to my guide. The rom itself has really great performance, battery stats and the 3D score is notably higher then Evervol 7.1.1. However I haven't been able to overcome issues with the play store force closing and AOSP keyboard crashing at start. Additionally sometimes when you flash the rom you get a blackscreen at boot but some builds worked fine. Let me know how it goes for you and if you have better results. I've tried both the open and base gapps packages with the same results.
[ROM][UNOFFICIAL][7.1] CyanogenMod 14.1 Unofficial (Invisiblek)
Rom Details: Low battery drain (-2mA to -15mA), h/w video, Audio, Camera(doesn't work), Bluetooth.
Note: This rom **REQUIRES a minimum of 1312MB System Partition. Change the size with Jcsullins TPtoolbox after selecting to install android
Note: You may need to install another keyboard app (here) if the AOSP one crashes at start
Note: May have issues with the Play store force closing.

I perhaps should have waited and thought this one through. - I didn't.
I don't think I wiped it properly. Not entirely sure. I think I did a 'sort-of' dirty flash of this over top of EV7.1.1
First boot was not pretty. Went back into recovery twice and did the wipe(s) then installed.
Came up OK, did have a couple of FC's. Just flashed OpenGApps Nano and am waiting for it to reboot.
I need to keep a better logbook, I think that I have all three of these 'testers' configured the same but that may not be the case.
So I might be heading back to 'GO' and firing up the ol' ToolBox.
EDIT: Might have to nickname it ForcedCloser... Can't setup and account. PlayStore FC'ing May have to start from scratch...
What is with all the "Default ######" accounts? and the one labeled 'Alice'?
I also got same problem ,fallow Roland ...the way he ask us to install ,u have to installstable version 1st Cm11. Then wipe system only to install.. see before Post he has given link

Night two: no joy, can't get in to play store or create account. Keeps FC'ing
Started off with clean install. 1.5GB
Loaded swiftkey, and that's working well. Grabbed a logcat, but can't upload here at xda-developers.com........

Hardly functioning. Going to have to sideload apps or go with an alternative to Playstore.
Even the Email App is FC'ing.
I'm going to have to figure out what I am doing or did wrong.

Surrendering. Tried flashing 12-25 a short while ago, then rebooted into CM, then restarted into recovery to flash
OpenGApps Nano, rebooted. Fired up play store - FC. Went into: Settings, Add Account - FC...
Need an emoticon waving a white flag... I can't get it to go.
If someone who does have it running would post up a screenie of 'DF' under terminal, I'd appreciate it.

Well, I thought I'd give it another try tonight.
Wipe everything - twice. Flashed the ROM - booted. It came up fine. No errors at all.
Rebooted back into TWRP and flashed GApps: "gapps-711-base-20161218-1-signed.zip"
Rebooted , 'Google Play Services have stopped' and the 'Keybd has Stopped' Errors
tried setting up a Google Acct, <FAILED> Stuck at "checking info" then returns a Play services error.
Tried going into Play Store, same result.
I've tried some many different GApps that I've lost track....
maybe need to figure out how to get rid of the 'Extra Accounts labeled "Default #####" ' ?
Seems quick and snappy. I don't think though that I feel like side-loading everything...
Well this has been a wasted afternoon... After trying different methods of trying to fork in different versions of Play Services and Play Store I gave up and did a clean install of 12-26. No GApps.
Keyboard is NOT crashing... (so far)
Then loaded Amazon App - Underground. Figured I'll just use those apps until...
er, nope. Amazon keeps stopping also... So much for that grand plan. Worth a shot.
Interestingly though, it crashes after selecting 'Sign In'... If you don't sign in it goes for just a couple of more screens, then crashes.
Just not yet ready for prime time - it's going to be something simple (hopefully)...
Harvested APKs from a couple of tablets and copied them over.
Been installing & trying them out for the last few hours while watching movies.
Most Apps stopping immediately. Swiftkey is working maybe 80% of the time before a close.
Root Explorer running at around 90%.
Loaded up a couple of older notepad type apps and they ran ok. Dolphin was a nogo.
AB Rio would go for a round then crash. First run the audio when bonkers.
Tried setting a custom wallpaper - finally got it.
Just isn't stable. Drat.

Thanks for giving the Rom a thorough testing and reporting back with your results. I had the same issues and never got past the playstore problem, eventually I gave up. Its a shame CM14.1 came to an end before reaching its full potential on the HP TP.
Edit: If you're ready for a new adventure test out Invisiblek's Lineage OS rom here I've made a thread about it below and yes the play store is working

Obviously not supposed to happen. Updated to latest rom ? Rouge third party apps installed ? If not, send a report to Huawei using their "Hicare" app and it should be sorted with rom updates.
Hope you didn't restore an old backup on ur new phone.
I did not restore any backups on it. I am thinking it is the SD card.... how likely is that?
Formatted the SD card, and still crashed. I'm on my 4th crash so far. Phone is unusable to me until this is fixed.
Is there any app that will display crash reports? I want to pinpoint why this is happening.

Nothing seems to be a direct cause of the crashing. The only thing that I’ve noticed is when I go to unlock the phone that’s when the crashing will happen but I’m never able to re-create the crash when I want it’s always sporadic and an indefinite amount of time can go by between the next crash.
UPDATE: Looks like I’m not the only one who is experiencing crashing with their device. The crashing is random and maybe your phone will crash overnight and you don’t know that it was power cycled. I advise everyone to keep an eye on their device to see if it power cycled without you knowing or more obviously when you’re using it in front of your face and you see the wall a logo pop up out of nowhere this device seems to be glitched and needs to be patched as soon as possible again I welcome anyone to share their feedback or stories with this phone crashing is been pretty quiet.

No crash here, I have been using the Mate 10 heavily, tried everything not one crash yet. But dang this thing has a lot of features when you want to turn off one features it is really hard to know where to look for it. Just need to learn and know where to find the settings.

Try factory reseting it, sometimes most of those crashes happens when you try to download Apk to get apps for free, so install them 1 by one to see which app is causing it. But definitely factory reset first and try replicating it after a reset.

I have already stated that I did that, and formatted my SD card on-top of that.
Crashes still happen. The same APPS I had on my Mate 8, I have on my Mate 10.
Mate 8 never crashed.
No, have not had any random reboots. To be fair I have had some apps hang for quite a while ending up in me rebooting it myself.
But not to the point there the phone is completely hung like windows blue screen.

Maybe you guys didn't think of it but this phone has android oreo so maybe some compatibility with old applications you are using or restoring?

What is your current firmware version
Am on .115 (636) ALP-L29, i never experience eandom reboots,
But i do face hiccups, as i explained in other thread. If i lock my phone during gaming, it sometimes get hard to unlocked. I know it unlocked from the sound, but screen remain black,
If i swipe the home button, fortunately it goes to recent task. And i can close the game. Other apps run normally,
So i guess its the game that doesnt like being suspended.
And yes, i think Oreo play hand here too. Some app act funny or malfunction/crashing. Name it : ES Explorer during space analyze. PS Touch transform function wont work. Etc

I lost count on how many times my phone is crashed. I've never experience an android phone this unstable before. It's quite disappointing and if I could easily return it I would. This is the firmware version that I'm on. The model number is ALP-AL 00.
the last crash I had was earlier this morning. I was talking to my friend on Google hangouts, I then received a call on WhatsApp, I unlocked my phone to try to deny that call on WhatsApp, and was greeted by the ever so familiar while a logo, showing me that had crashed once again.
I don't know how many users on this form have the Chinese model like I do but this crashing is rage inducing and disappointing at the same time I just hope someone can help me or that Huawei can patch it because I did spend a lot of money on this phone I do like Huawei and their devices.

Have you tried using the phone without the external card ?
I have not. Since day one I've had an SD card in the phone. I did try reformatting the SD card. To no avail.
Do you suggest I try to use the phone without an SD card inside?

Yes. Use without the SD card. Install apps on your phone.
Huawei has been releasing many updates for this phone. Already 118 and 119 exist. Hopefully one of the ones after 115 has fixed the issue.
i think u should blame the android oreo not the huawei itself, still the Oreo not stable android version, check in news how many bugs and problems for google self phone the pixel 2 using the Oreo , and many customers file too many complaints against google, each day new bug appear for the pixel 2 phone. i am sure if mate 10 have nougat pre-installed it will be bugs free and stable
Just got the mate 10! Absolute beast in the battery department! However, I too am experiencing some app crashes particularly FB and ig. Anyone noticed that when you drag icons around the homescreen the stuttering is insane!? I'm on .115 hopefully future updates will fix this issue. =(

Apart from the new features, I noticed:
The UI is smoother and more resposonsive
Google Lens keeps saying "Camera isn't working", whether I open it from Google app or from the camera app.

I just tried my Lens app and that has the same problem.
So it looks like a structoral problem.
Let's hope they can fix it in the next update/patch.
The update is now available in Hong Kong as well.
I received the update in Bulgaria two days ago and so far the phone is behaving perfectly fine, I also noticed the transitions are a bit smoother (not that it was sluggish before) and I also love the new theme colors. Regards

Could you please check the Lens app from google and see if you get an error the moment you try to use the camera?
Someone else and myself do get an error.

I just installed this app and am also getting an error, the screen is black and there is a loading spinner for some time and then the error appears.
what's more, "Double tap to check phone" doesn't work either.
Also, after each restart, driving mode would lead your phone to Do not disturb mode, even if you had deleted that rule before.
double tap to check phone works if you enable it again in the special menu, i.e. you will find it already enabled so you will have to deselect and re-enable it, after which it will work as it should...until you turn off the phone...and then you are forced to redo this operation...
there are several bugs in this android 13...

Many things are not working, double tap, Lens, Split screen, Google photo scan, Google Authenticator, many apps that require accessibility access are no longer working. What boarders me most is that Casting is no longer working. I hope they address these issues soon. If someone has a work around, I'll be glad.

as for me, one of my games got literally killed by the update (Touhou LostWord).
After updating it to Android 13, the game stopped working, at all! All attempts in fixing it, which include things like reinstalling the game, restarting the device, etc... just didn't work!
The game's customer service told me to reset my phone's cache partition, but Nokia just doesn't allow that, so I'm now very unhappy

I found out that if you side load app, it won't work unless you download it from Play Store, so don't use backed up apps. Accessibility access won't work unless you download it from Play Store. You can access Lens and Translate from Google Photos. Take a picture of what you want to search with Lens, open it with Photos app, you can use Lens from within the Photos app. I'll be glad if anyone has find any other features or solutions.
The latest update, v3.470, seems to have fixed those issues.
At least the Lens is working again.
