[PROBLEM]System disables CWM recovery - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello, Its my first post here so ~hi
Well, I am an owner of Rikomagic MK12 device,
The device has a driver only for when I am on recovery-reset mode, which disables me the option for USB-debugging.
The problem: When I get into ROM Manager, and click to get in-to recovery,
My system go off - then theres a flash of "rikomagic" (always on openning), then a black screen with a flash of the word "rebooting.." at the bottom corner. and then the system just turning on..
The same on other boot apps..
Any help?

BUMP!
Please help!

This is most likely due to the bootloader being locked up or on a odd partition.
Try booting into recovery manually.

When you flashed your cwm, did you perchance disable the system that flashes the stock recovery back?

[Q] Can't enter into recovery

Hi,
I tried to uninstall a add-on by wiping cache and dalvik and re-flashing. For some reason now I cannot enter recovery anymore. Whenever I reboot into recovery I end up in bootloader.
I have turned off fastboot.
Can anyone please help?
Thanks,
Omar.

Aren't you supposed to choose Recovery from the bootloader menu?
I tried that from bootloader as well but it keeps bringing me to bootloader.

Sounds like the recovery needs to be reinstalled.
Try reinstalling a recovery
Or you could boot into the rom and dl quick boot from the market to boot into recovery.
#Root-Hack\Mod*Always_
""Shooter on Deck""
Simply reflash your recovery.
Thanks, how do you reflash the recovery?

via fastboot
download the recovery.img
Code:
fastboot flash recovery nameofyourrecovery.img
done
thanks all for your help. I was able to use flash gui img to flash the recovery and now I am able to go to recovery.
you could also try to reroot it. use the revolutionary tool (www.revolutionary.io) and when the tool finishes, it asks you to install a custom recovery, just press "y" and it will do it automatically.

Hmmm... I am having the same problem today - tried flashing a new splash screen which didn't play nice with my phone. After trying to reboot into recovery, it goes straight to hboot and wants to reflash the image. I can't get into recovery to put the stock image back in.
Any way to fix this without adb, I can't use that at work because my laptop is locked down. Ughhh... gonna be one of those days!
Anyone know of a way to fix this and get back into recovery? If not I'll wait and do it when I get home tonight.
This just happened to me. I used Superwipe before installing a ROM update. When phone rebooted it stuck at bootloader. Can not get into recovery.

[Q] I9200 boot loop, can't access recovery mode

I flashed a 4.4.2 stock rom for my mega 6.3 and now it's stuck in the ''recovery booting'' screen with the samsung logo, i can access download mode easily. I've searched, and i think i have to do a factory reset, but i can't access recovery mode (vol up+ home+ power), i've tried everything :/ it just won't boot in recovery mode, so i don't know what to do now, i can successfully flash everything with odin and downlaod mode, but it just keeps on the recovery booting screen, please help!.

Yup, it doesn't recognize the device
Just out of curiosity, have you had the screen replaced on it? That's a common error that has occurred to a lot of people when they've gone back. It's in another thread if you have. Other than that, I have no idea, but it a factory reset is recommended after the install, I'm not sure if you can get the phone loaded to do it. Good luck!!

Just flash a custom recovery CWM Philz touch or TWRP - (the one silesh made) and perform a factory reset with the cusom recovery and if just a fyi you don't need to be rooted to flash a custom recovery.

samsung galaxy in boot loop(twrp)

i installed cm13 custom rom in my s3 then with twrp. it worked fine then i factory reset my phone then it starts with twrp screen and screen flashes and again twrp screen comes(screen with twrp written not options).i can just go to odin mode. what to do now
please help!!!!!
Never factory reset from a custom ROM. It is recommended to do it from recovery. Your reset has wiped too much including important parts of the OS. Flash another copy again.
I tried to downgrade my galaxy r but i cant and i am stuck into twrp.PLEASE HELP ME TO FIX THIS!!!

Go the the forum designated for your device, do not ask here.
As for your question, please flash your stock ROM again. Make sure to follow the steps properly and be very patient.

Maybe it is just loading? If after waiting for 5 mins. can you enter recovery? If not can you enter download mode? If yes then download a copy of the stock rom from here and flash it via ODIN.

How do I get into Odin mode? Every time I try to hold power, home and volume down it just flashes the Samsung logo and then goes into recovery when I release the buttons, no download mode
EDIT: just solved it. Seems I didn't press the volume button "down" enough.

Bootloop, flashed stock ROM via SPFT, Recovery (stock) no longer accessible

Need some help! I woke up with my phone in bootloop (only Samsung logo). It is a MTK6589 device with Samsung S5 ROM specifically designed for this device. It is a rooted device with CWM recovery in it. I have been flashing ROMs for quite a long time. I flashed a different ROM in it thinking so sure that it will fix the issue but to big surprise, nothing has changed. Samsung bootanim and bootlogo are still there and still in bootloop. I tried to reflash one more time, wiped everything (Dalvik, etc.) but still no luck. Now, I came up with one last resort: flash stock ROM by SPFT (SP Flash Tool). So I downloaded the stock ROM for my device, flashed it by SPFT. With full hope that I fixed my device perfectly, still it did not change anything. Still the same problem occurred after flashing the Stock ROM. Now, I am trying to go to recovery, but it is just keeps on booting. Recovery (either CWM or stock) is no longer accessible.
PS: Before it happened, my device keeps on reminding me of xmodgames app which is installed in my device saying it is dangerous etc.
I will really appreciate you replies.

Sir,
Thank you for your response.
Correct drivers are installed. I have not tried flashing it with fastboot and I do not know what fastboot is. XD . The ROM I am trying to flash is the stock ROM of my device.

fastboot is the most preferred method of flashing a stock firmware. If you dont know about that then a look at this for downloading and setting up fastboot http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2588979
and this for how to use fastboot http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2277112
hope it helps

Sir,
I have already fastboot. But when I try to put commang FASTBOOT DEVICES it shows nothing. I can not access my recovery mode as well. When I try to press Vol Down+Power, it shows 3 boot options: normal, recovery, fastboot. But I can not select any of the three.

Thank you for your response sir. But I was not able to select anything. I tried to press power button to select fastboot, but not working. When it is on that screen, adb/fastboot also can not detect it. It is not going to any kind of recovery . I am afraid, my phone is totally dead.

[SOLVED] US998 Failed to mount /system structure needs cleaning

tried to flash viper, made back up first. restoring gives me error in title. daily/only phone fast responses much appreciated!
Solved! Backup was working. TWRP keeps saying no OS. Used Power + Vol Down to restart and booted into system. Had an issue with the lock screen. Got past that too. TWRP still thinks there's no OS after reflashing TWRP but it's not keeping me stuck in recovery anymore.

I've come across this issue plenty of times. Did TWRP begin to recognize the individual partitions of your OS after backups and can you flash mods and zips normally? Usually this would land you in Bootloop City.

I've run into the same problem after restoring from a recovery. Power+vol down works, but I'd like to fix the underlying issue. How do you flash a kdz without boot/recovery?

It means you no longer have TWRP custom recovery, but have the useless stock recovery.
You can reinstall TWRP.
