Dear All,
I have a Lenovo P780 with Jelly Bean 4.2.1 and KingUser root SU version 3.43 and software version 4.0.2.87.
My problem is whenever I want to go to the Settings panel, or any sub-option I've made a shortcut for, the phone shows "app isn't installed".
Has anyone had this issue and how to solve this? I prefer not to go the all re-root process as you can understand because I'd have to reinstall everything.
Regards,
choo

Well I wanted to downgrade KingUser and used a Titanium Backup I had because the phone seemed to have lots of new small apps I didn't install and linked to Lenovo. Thus, I did a App+Data restore and since it's acting up that way. I click on Settings, it says the app isn't installed. Contact the Manufacturer.
I tried to restore to the last KingUser version including the data that was backed up at that time but still the problem persists.
Thanks stympy for taking interest in my problem.

That's the first root I tried sometime ago when KingUser wouldn't give me full privileges so I'd rather not go that route again.
Any other ideas or do I have to swallow the pill and re-root with the latest King User version I have and reinstall everything. I seem to have problems with many apps and restoring them from TB by the way. I don't know if it's my phone or not but system files don't agree with it.

Hi
I've unrooted my phone because I'm missing SkyGo and also couldn't get updates easily via Kies. Titanium Backup won't even show as an icon, SuperSU gives an error when starting and ROM Toolbox says root access is required. All of this would confirm to me that my phone is not rooted and in addition the phone's status is 'normal'.
So why does SkyGo still tell me my phone is rooted and it won't support rooted devices?
Also, when I connect to KIES to look for updates, why does it tell me my firmware is not supported?
I downloaded stock 4.1.2 ROM from SAMOBILE and the build number is JZO54K.I9300XXEMA1. Baseband version is I9300XXELLA.
Do I need to do anything else?
Thanks, Paul

Thanks for such a speedy response. Being a bit of a novice at all of this, will I lose any data or settings if I factory reset? Do I do this by holding down vol up, home and power or through "Back up and reset" in settings?
Thanks, Paul

A factory reset after flashing stock firmware is the only thing (if I understand correctly ) you can do.

Regarding other threads, I have searched for quite a long time looking for the information on Sky Go and Kies that I need but haven't found solutions. I might be looking in the wrong places, but no luck yet.

What about Skys own forum ???

I suspect Sky won't help you Unfortunately.
The reason they do not allow access from rooted phones is from a security point of view. .
It is much easier on a rooted phone to find ways of recording from the app etc and sky obviously won't allow that .
So I guess your decision comes down to what is more important to you. ..
The ability to watch Sky Go?
Or the functionality and features of a rooted phone.
I personally chose the latter. ..

you should only have to download Superuser from the play store, otherwise try to root the phone again.

You must finish your rooting by an app and guided by some instruction from some websites. Then maybe the master there will have a post which guiding you back to the starting point.

Okay. Just like what you said, there is a superuser app. How can you get that? I don't know but maybe you took acknowledge at some instructions and rooted your phone and then you get it. So go back to that instruction. Maybe there is another thread which is introducing the way of unroot.
You know what i'm saying?

OK i get it, i got superuser app automatically after i rooted my device, then I uninstalled superuser app, then installed supersuser elite(at that point i realized i dont have root access anymore) and after that i uninstalled superuser elite and installed superuser again from play store. Nothing worked. I guess i will root my device again- nothing bad should happen, right?

hi
you are not obliged to use superuser app you can use supersu (from play store) , keep in mind that you have to update the binaries from superuser or supersu in order for root to work , you should also chack that usb debuging is checked on your phones developer options otherwise root wont work .

Well, at that time i missed once just like you, and i rooted again without hesitation. But the second time i read the instruction hardly and i succeeded at last. Fortunately the error wouldn't happen. My cellphone is Motorola Xt615 and i dunno yours. I guess root on a second time is still okay.

So the story goes, I rooted my phone using Framaroot 1.8.1 and yes it was rooted successfully. Recently I updated my phone to version A706ROW_1_S_2_001_0018_130705, and because of this my phone became unrooted but still had superuser installed. I would like to re-root my phone using Framaroot again but it cannot be rooted due to superuser. I had no luck in other threads as I am new to the android world that even simple terms, I couldn't comprehend. I would like to ask a clear and brief guide/ explanation to how my unrooted phone with superuser's presence be removed completely. Thank you in advance, Please.

Yes, NAndroid requires root permissions.
You can find solution here: technorms [dot] com/39708/android-backup-4-best-options

Yes, it will probably succeed to root, and if you successfully created a full backup, you can be restore it.
I rooted my Acer B3-A10 tablet with the latest King Root. I purchased then installed SuperSU Pro and successfully updated the binaries. I wanted to use Chainfire's product and support his efforts. I follow him on XDA. After the SuperSU installation my tablet will not boot. I can get into its recovery mode and into fastboot. ADB does not work in the recovery mode. I have a backup.ab file but can not install it without ADB access. I can not find a factory recovery image to flash. Any suggestions?
I took out my SD card then selected update from external source. Several strange folders were displayed including one that was labelled Do Not Panic. None of them were functional. I still have not determined what I can do next. I loaded the source code for my tablet into Android Studio and created a functional emulated device but I can't transfer it to the tablet.
did you ever find a way to fix this as this has happened to me too.
i rooted with kingroot and installed supersu by way of supersume pro
Sad to say to you guys but supersume pro is not working anymore with the latest devices. the app is no longer updated. lucky it works for me but i used the basic one or the free i mean. Not the pro.
