Hello,
I read alot lately about porting Lollipop (CM 12.1) to my device (Allview V1 Viper which is basically a rebranded Gionee Elife E3) but i have some questions:
1. As far as i understood, there are some problems with CM and Mediatek devices. However i saw some posts with people succeeding to boot CM 12.1 on these devices. Can this be achieved ?
2. If yes, can i use KitKat stock kernel with a Lollipop build ? (my common sense says no, but who knows ?) If no, how can i build a kernel for Lollipop for this device. I saw that Mediatek released kernel source, can that be used ? Also, can i use the drivers from KitKat ? If no, which and where should i get the drivers from ? Can i use any files from KitKat stock rom for a Lollipop port ?
This will clear some things for the beginning.
Thanks in advance
I'm confused as to just what or which files to download for exposed on my rooted t-mobile Samsung S5. I know that the framework and BootManager downloads are a start. I've also read the forum here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/official-xposed-lollipop-t3030118. And.... here: http://www.phonearena.com/news/How-....0-Lollipop-and-actually-make-it-work_id66065. But I'm still stuck on exactly which files or folders to download. Thanx to you guys in advance!

xposed is not compatible with touch wiz . you can only have xposed if you use a custom rom that does not use touchwiz. maybe if you install an aosp rom
Xposed IS compatible with your version, but there are some pre-reqs. ,
First you need a deodexed rom (there is a few floating around)
This forum is for Android 5.0 touchwiz ---> http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/unofficial-xposed-samsung-lollipop-t3113463
If you are on Android 5.1.1 there is a post with the link to the framework in that same tread, you just gotta search for it.
Hi guys,
If you are using kitkat firmware, you will not get problem installing xposed, just install xposed installer, tap install.
But after you upgrade your firmware to lollipop, you must install xposed manually. There are 6 different flashable zip, so you must flash the appropriate one, if not, voila you can get bootloop.
Ok, let's go guys.
What's needed:
Rooted Device (It's for xposed)
Custom Recovery, TWRP (It's for flashing xposed)
CPU-Z (It's for determining your api level and kernel architecture)
Xposed for lollipop
How to install xposed:
Install CPU-Z. Open it. Go to System tab, See and note API Level and Kernel Architecture.
Download appropriate files from here. Save it to your phone
XposedInstaller_3.0-alpha*.apk
xposed-vxx-sdk[*API_LEVEL]-[*KERNEL_ARCHITECTURE].zip
Go to custom recovery (How to? Just follow until point 5)
Choose install and xposed-vxx-sdk[*API_LEVEL]-[*KERNEL_ARCHITECTURE].zip. Flash it.
Reboot. Install the APK
Done

Just follow my instruction. I think it's clear. What's your problem? have you installed custom recovery?
What Android version you use? 5.0.2 or 5.1.1? 32-bit or 64-bit?
According to CPU-z my Lenovo a6000 plus running on lollipop 5.0.1 has api 21 and kernel architecture aarch64 which is not listed here. So I downloaded arm64 which doesn't worked. So please help me how to install xposed.

Uninstall your xposed app first.
go to twrp, flash xposed framework uninstaller, reboot first (boot to android)
go to twrp, wipe dalvik cache, flash xposed framework, restart
install xposed app

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3034811 go to this to find out your compatible files to download.
I'm a newb and thanks so much to the community for developing software to help us take more control of who can access our private data.
I want to figure out what files I need to install xposed on CM12.1 so I read the posts in this thread and that lead me to the reading the posts in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3034811, and I still can;t figure out how the filename of a specific Xposed SDK zip file correlates to a specific ROM
I understand that
• XposedInstaller_3.0_alpha4.apk is the installer to be installed from normal boot (2016-02-17)
• XposedBridgeApi-20150213.jar is something that needs to be installed from somewhere (2016-02-17)
• The framework SDK zip needs to be flashed from recovery mode
• v80 is the latest version of the framework zip (2016-02-17)
I do not understand
• What android/ROMs correlate to SDK21, SDK22, or SDK23 (maybe 21=4.x, 22=5.x and 23=6.x?)
• What android/ROMs go with arm, arm64 or x86
any feedback is appreciated

I hope I can explain you simply and clearly.
1. XposedBridgeApi: it's for developer only. If you want to develop xposed module you have to install it. But if you're not developing xposed module you don't have to install it.
2. SDK21 => Android LP 5.0.x
SDK22 => Android LP 5.1.x
SDK23 => Android M 6.0.x
3. arm, arm64, x86 is the architecture of processor. arm (32bit) and arm64 (64bit) is ARM processor while x86 is Intel processor.
our device, lenovo A6000/Plus, use MSM8916 chipset. It's ARM (ARMv8), 64-bit architecture, but also compatible with 32-bit architecture.
for stock LP ROM, lenovo A6000 use 32-bit and Lenovo A6000 Plus use 64-bit.
So, when you want to install xposed framework, you must know what architecture you use. the simplest way is using third party app like CPU-Z.
