Hey, XDA.
I looked around but I couldn't find a similar thread about this.
Back a couple weeks ago, Verizon pushed out the not-so-official-but-it-exists-for-you-to-download VS98523C firmware and I put it on my G3 through the LG Flash tool and it works flawlessly...except for one part...
It seems that when I connect to WiFi, I instantly stop getting push notifications (i.e. no email, WhatsApp, GroupMe, Wunderlist, etc... alerts). But, when I connect back to 4G, I instantly get a barrage of the 'missed' notification from when I was on WiFi.
Also, it's not my WiFi network at home, I've reset my router/AP multiple times, tried different networks, different configurations to no avail.
I was wondering if anyone had the same issue and if there was a fix out there.
If there already is and I still don't know how to read, I'd be more than happy to get a link to it.
Thanks!
Are you living in some type of time warp?

I'm not too sure what you mean...

I use Go SMS on CM 7.0.3 ROM. I frequently (2-3 times a day) get a weird text alert as you can see below.

As you can see, it says 7pm (and always does regardless of actual time), has no sender, has no content, and does not show up when I actually launch either Go SMS or the regular messages app. It is like a ghost alert with no real message attached. Has anyone else experienced this? What causes it? How do I stop it?
Yes I do.
Yes I do also get this. I have a DroidX with gingerbread. I get it probably more than 3 times a day. I only get it with an actual text message. i have not been able to figure out what is causing it. Please figure out!!!
+ 1, would be great if someone could figure this out, quite annoying
It usually happens when you get a picture message.

I get it everytime i get a normal text.
Anyone figure this out? I just switched from Handcent to Go SMS a few days ago and am now getting these "ghost" messages.
My *guess* is that this may be caused by a combination of Go SMS and some other app. I've recently reset my phone and removed a lot of apps and widgets (like Fancy Widgets and Beautiful Widgets) and haven't had the problem since. Makes me think it may be a widget update of weather or something that is causing this.

I agreed - something to do with MMS notifications and multiple notifications accumulating.
Ive been having it for a little while now, maybe the last month and a bit.
cheers.
I've been trying to search but haven't found anything on this issue. A couple of weeks ago I noticed a number of apps that appeared on my All Apps list without me ever even installing them.

The two by martetrut and the casino one. I tried searching my phone for any trace of these apps and found nothing other than their appearance on this list.
Today, I looked at my list and now more mystery apps have appeared, with another app by that martetrut dev.
I downloaded lookout and Norton and ran several scans and they didn't pick up anything.... I'm a little concerned.
Anyone have any idea on what's causing this or had a similar experience? I'd appreciate any help/input.
If it matters, I'm completely stock.

Someone may be using your account to download apps. go to play.google.com on your computer, click on the gear in the upper right corner and go to My Orders & Settings.
The Orders tab can show you when the apps in question were downloaded.
Click on the Settings Tab and look under devices to make sure only your phone is listed.
Unfortunately I don't think there is a way to delete or unauthorize a device, but at least you'll know if someone else is causing those apps to show up or not.
Best thing to do is change your account password.

Yes, this was my first thought. I would guess someone is using your account to download apps on another device.
as other users said, it's probably someone else using your account.
maybe you gave/sold your old android phone to someone without wiping data.
btw, changing your password can be a good solution
Hey guys,
I just bought a Galaxy Note 2 second hand, and it is having some problems. Right now I'm not sure if it's something I'm doing wrong, something Verizon is doing wrong, or something wrong with the device.
I am 100% stock, with no modifications. I can receive texts, but cannot send them (I get a message saying it will wait for the network to become available to send). I also cannot make calls (I get a similar message).
Here's the kicker though: I have signal. I have several bars of 4G, and am sending / receiving data through the browser, but the SMS / Voice call features of the phone do nothing.
Anyone have any advice? I have tried the following:
Wipe Data / Factory Reset
Reboot
Wipe Dalvik
Shut down, remove SIM card, put SIM card back, reboot
Nothing seems to do anything helpful!
UPDATE: Just browsing around the settings, I found the following in my network settings:

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that missing some things?
Did you just activate your service, or start new 4G service? It can take anywhere from a few hours to a full day for all phone functions to work. When I got a new SIM before, data worked almost immediately, but some of the SMS/call related things took a couple hours before they worked properly.

No, I had a Galaxy S3 and simply shut that phone down, took out the SIM, and transferred it to the new phone. Nothing else changed.
Ive had my ham2 for more than 2 years, been running awesome for that time until all of a sudden it shut off one day randomly. didnt want to restart at first, but eventually got it back on. and since then it's been lagging like crazy. i uninstalled a bunch of apps and removed a lot of files like pics and stuff, and for about a week it was running ok, but now its back to running like crap. it wont even let me install anything from the play store. i tried to install a malware app and it gives me error code -504. some apps don't even open anymore. what is going on??
Mine became buggy within the last two or 3 weeks. I think updating the loaded apps in the Google ap store helped, as well as shutting completely off, and turning back on. I did use a scanner to check for malware and found nothing. Using Lookout Security free version.

won't update! no programs will install or update. even the app store stopped opening, saying it wasn't installed. now it's opening, but upgrades and installs give me error 504.

Did you try instructions similar to these:

that didn't work. it's really messed up! looking at my old posts to try to remember how to format it and start fresh.
Hello everyone!
I have a Motorola g7 power xt1955-4 reteu2.
In the last two months, I got an issue with my wifi connectivity. My phone is Connected to the hotspot of another smartphone. And it frequently disconnects from wifi. It works after I turn off and then turn back on the wifi.
But I have to do this each time.
I uploaded two screenshots, to see how my wifi menu looks like.
I did a network reset.
I uploaded two bugreports.
And the issue is the same on motorola g7 power.
Besides, I connected to my hotspot another device (a computer with wifi usb), alongside motorola g7. When my motorola wifi got disconnected again, the wifi icon from my computer showed no problem.
Which means the issue is only at motorola wifi, not the hotspot.
As I remember, it only has this issue since the last update.
Besides the wifi issue, I remember that two times my phone stopped responding and I needed to restart it.
It is updated to the last version, I think.
I have build number QPOS30.52-29-7-5
What would you suggest?
Thanks in advance for your answer.

I did that. Both are off.
But the issue is the same.
My motorola sometimes reconnects itself after a minute or two.
What do I need to do to solve this issue?
Hello, do you have this issue with every internet connection or only on a certain one?
